Penguin and Riddler are like early 30s at the most. They wouldn't be all that old when he becomes batman in his 20s (hes 16 now I think)
They could always create another mutant, one that deages instead of ages. I am not joking it was a thing on Gotham

I don't get it, it will be super far removed from anything Batman, what's the point? Without Batman Alfred is kind of just a guy

Earth, 21st Century
Just wait until it turns out young Alfred had his own superhero alter-ego, and he's the one who gave Bruce the idea and inspiration!!

Jokes aside, this is almost not related to Batman with how distant it is. If you took a dartboard and threw a dart at it and it hit the very edge of the board, barely making it on, that's where this concept is. It could be good, though. 1960's London spy sounds kind of James Bond-ish.

Alfred has an affair with a woman with the maiden name... Valeska, after his first month in America.

Until Alfried runs up against Ra's al ghul, and The Cult of Azeral
Eh to me it's still like the story ends with the dude becoming a butler for Batman, like it ends with him being hugely overshadowed so it makes it hard for me to invest I guess. I'm sure Bullock had some crazy stories as a young cop but Jim Gordon is the one people will remember and would want to see

But I can't lie, I'll watch this shit. At least the first few episodes, an Alfred prequel will never happen again

It's crazy, DC has stuff that would be perfect for tv and grow the brand

I assume some of this... most of this is out of their control.
Like on their app doing stuff like Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol.
But when partnering with another company, they probably want a brand and Batman is probably a lot cheaper than Superman.

I mean even with the success of the MCU, there's only what 2 Marvel shows that air on actual TV?
(Not counting the X-Men stuff since that's Fox)
I'll watch it. But damn are they out of ideas.

I mean... I imagine someone wanted a spy show and its an easy enough brand to attach

Eh to me it's still like the story ends with the dude becoming a butler for Batman,
Gotham version of Alfred at least is the one actually making him Batman.

trained him since episode 1
protected him from assassins and a supervillain
helped hammer in the no kill rule
is a father to him
got him a Batmobile
tought him about theatrics, disguises, etc.
is typical radio support on mission.

Gotham Alfred makes me interested in a series in a heartbeat.
Gotham universe would be better but oh well.

Some studios aren't looking for anything logical...
they can't be bought, bullied, reasoned... or negotiated with
Some studios... just want to watch the fanboys burn

This is that Teen Titans Go joke.

Uh. Okay. I guess everything is being adapted, so whatever, but I'll probably pass, as I do with most of the TV stuff.

Holy shit there is so much choice in the Bat Family, and they choose Alfred..

I mean we've already had Batman's daughter in a series with Barbara Gordon,
They've been trying to do Grayson/Nightwing since mid Smallville.
Robin/Nightwing is already on Titans
Nobody wants solo Catwoman tv series
Arrow had the other Huntress, who can't carry a series
Red Hood or Jason Todd is supposedly on Titans.

That leaves Batwoman who would be either too niche or too derivative of Batman(like Arrow already was) for WB.

And lastly WB won't allow a full Batman series because it would possibly take interest away from a movie.

Any guesses on who the proto-villains might be? You know they'll put Poison Ivy's father or some shit

And one of his best friends is an American named HArry HArrison, a pale fellow with a peculiar sense of humor who dreams of establishing a chain of successful amusement parks in Gotham.

Also, he sees a nameless orphaned urchin child trying to mend a pot and he's all "cobble that pot together, boy!"

EPIX CONTACT ME MY RATES ARE REASONABLE ALSO KILLER CROC'S DAD SHOULD LIVE IN THE SEWER AND BE TRYING TO INVENT A NEW KIND OF COMFORTABLE GAUDY SHOE

I mean, what you typed seems like a pretty standard comic book plot.

We are talking about an universe where a guy is actually called "Ed Nygma" who is all about riddles, a cat burglar dressed as a cat whose real name is Selina, one letter short for "Felina", and a dude called Victor Fries (pronounced "freeze") goes on to become an ice-themed villain...

Let's not pretend that the base story is super clever.

Just do the Kents already. It's a great book, and I'm not sure why they haven't jumped on the idea...

Its coming from the Gotham team?! Still not particularly interested in this but it would win me over if they bookended some episodes with Sean Pertwee telling Bruce a story about his past.
