They're also making Metropolis which is a Superman prequel starring Lois Lane and Lex Luthor. Why can't WB just give the green light to a proper Batman TV series that has a budget? Why must we endure these insane prequels and cheap CW fair?

Can't wait for the ongoing villain to be that ruby bandit from Burma.

Under my Hela Hela
Go full crazy and have this be Joker's origin story.

Alfred sees how awful Gotham has gotten and knows he has to become something more than a man to stop Bruce doing hookers and banging coke.

ETA - that or Alfred and co form the first Justice League.

That was the plot of Neil Gaiman's "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?" I believe.

I love Alfred but because of his interactions with Bruce and the kids. I don't know if I'd be down for an Alfred-only series.

Given that this was first rumoured over two years ago I assumed that this show had simply just disappeared into the ether of development hell.

The one surprising thing about this is that's it's on Epix of all places and not on DC Universe. It shows that Warners obviously see a very specific type of DC show on that platform rather than anything that has the DC 'badge' on it.

After MGM bought out Paramount and Lionsgate I assumed that they were just going to use it for their own productions but buying this from WB, with Bruno Heller onboard no less, that's a good get for them. Being set in 60's London I bet they have Danny Cannon direct most of this.

Yeah, I'm intrigued by this to say the least.

Now THIS I gotta watch, its either going to very cool or a total shitshow.

Alfred needs to be some kind of super sly to do his character any justice as Batman's most trusted ally.

Batman? No.

A Wonder Woman prequel about the Amazonians battling all manner of gods and monsters? Hmmmmmm.

It seems like the concept of that Amazon show they were gonna do on the CW ages ago.

But a modern day Xena/Hercules in the pre-Paradise Island days would be interesting.

Oh FUCK! Do this assholes! Give me an action series with a 90% women cast
You won't though won't you? Because you're bunch of cowards!

There is talks about getting it off the ground. They tried to get it going awhile ago before it all fell apart because they couldn't get a director but after wonder womans Success I think they should be able to find a director this time.

I hope they utilize the premium cable-ness of Epix to the fullest. I want to see hot gruff Alfred in some graphic sex scenes.

I want to make that "expanding mind" meme about this

Like:

Batman
Batman prequel
Young Alfred
Alfred's Dad
Alfred's Dad's Roommate

and on

Nobody needs to ask for everything to be made.... these kinda responses are baffling

It's nice to be surprised once in awhile than going in with pre-conceived notions that it's gonna suck or there's no need for it

What's surprising about a prequel to a story we already know? I can't blame people for being sick of the Property You Are Familiar With: We Will Never Get To The Interesting Part show concept. If the part before the story was interesting it would be part of the story.

The show itself can be interesting
Gotham is an absolute blast and while we know where it ends, we don't really since canned it's own niche in that corner of the universe

I want it taken to the logical conclusion of Batman beating up a bunch of old people. Either that or a lot of Jrs
