Amazon said there's been a delay with the shipping and if they can't ship by June then they're just gonna cancel the order. Pre-ordered there cause I got a good price but this reminds me why I always go with Best Buy when possible.

Mine showed up today at around 2pm. Welcome to THQ-Nordic's physical releases. I waited 2 months for Sine Mora Ex.

This is the first time one of their physical releases has shown up on time. I was honestly surprised.

Edit: I've played about 2 hours. What technical problems are people talking about? Real problems, or neckbeard shut-in problems? It runs fine?

With all the contradiction surrounding the resolution I'm just gonna trust noone on here in that regard, lol.

If this keeps going I'm gonna have to pick this up sooner than later to see for myself.

DF, where art thou?

This game is awesome mkay. Played approx 90 minutes and love it. Looks really good on handheld, though the perfomance can be a little bit slow, and looks fantastic docked on a 4K TV. Will play more tonight after work.

I've noticed some very slight framerate hiccups but it's pretty much a non-issue to me.

Looks cool. But too expensive. Will try to get it physical if it drops in price but sounds like this was a limited release.

This game keeps getting good as you proceed. Hey Silky what's the name of the buff you mentioned?

Not so much a buff, but dial all of your perks for Callibretto in the Nature section instead. Passive healing and improved cleansing will do wonders for you.
Yeah thats what im doing, concentrating on his Nature perks. Will I be getting more than those 6 points though?

This is a really fun, attractive, old school RPG, and having it on the go is a huge plus. A little slow going, but I kind of like the pace.
The undocked performance isn't as bad as I imagined it would be going by some reactions.
Same, outside of loading that is slightly longer than when docked, it feels otherwise the same mostly. Maybe the frame rate fluctuates in the dungeons, but I can't really tell.

Backer here, any news on the digital copies?

I got a delay email but that was the first thing I've seen in weeks from them even on the KS updates.

I didn't care for Earthlocke (another game that harkened back to the days of classic jrpgs) when I first tried it on the xbox one a few years back. Is this game any better?

Bit of a bummer that the Time Played stat in game keeps going in sleep mode. I have no idea how long I've actually played because I surely haven't played 135 hours.

Little updated, played a couple hours and the performance isn't that bad at all. I do not notice any issues with graphics or slow down issues in handheld mode. The only grip I have is with the loading when going into a dungeon, it is a bit slow.

I've played about 2 hours of Battle Chasers, and 5 of Earthlocke, and IMO Battle Chasers is already way better.

Earthlocke had pretty graphics for an indie, and its battle system wasn't bad, but it was a very bland game in pretty much every regard. Battle Chasers exudes personality, its combat has a lot more depth, and it seems like it'll be a much more fun experience.

This is what I am doing now...I stopped using Callibretto around level 10 so he was a pain to level up but now I can equip him with the level 25 to 30 gear I found for him in dungeons so I can go to a level 20 area with him and he doesnt die in one hit and levels fast...I will use him instead of the other ''healer'' and try that last Boss again.

Since I cant beat him(Boss),I went and looked at video's of the fight and most of them have him and you start the fight with the nature skills(leafs),I think I should be good with him,Garrison and Gully

Early on in the game (post first dungeon), I have a question:

Can I sell artifacts to the collector? Do I need them for future story stuff/mechanics/etc?

I got impatient waiting for my backer physical copy and decided to grab a copy at Best Buy. I'll just give my backer copy to a friend as a gift for their birthday next month.

The undocked performance isn't as bad as I imagined it would be going by some reactions.
My feelings as well. I haven't played it docked yet, but the game looks great undocked, IMHO. If I wanted to nitpick, yeah, the image is a little soft, but that doesn't mean the game looks awful. It looks very good probably thanks to the awesome art. The frame rate isn't as bad as people are making it sound either. The load times everyone's railing on it for really only take place when you're going into a dungeon or an exploration area and varied from 15-20 seconds. I played the game for about four hours, and I only saw loading occur before a battle maybe three times and they were super quick, not more than 1-2 seconds.

If I had to complain about anything, it's that I got wasted on two different areas I gained access to. I don't know if it was due to poor strategy, being under-leveled, or a good old fashioned difficulty spike. But yeah, anyone got tips for success when the going gets rough?

I saw someone mention buffing Bretto's healing abilities. How exactly do I buff them? Do you just mean making sure to use 'em?

updates regarding KS stuff via the forums today:

UPDATE 5/16

  • All physical copies have shipped

  • Our contact at THQ Nordic is working hard to get the codes. We're really sorry we missed launch day (obviously) and nothing is more important to us right now than getting the codes live.
We'll update later today as things progress. Thank you.

When in a battle, sometimes the enemies will have a text bubble pop up above them with "..." Does that mean anything? Or is that just showing them deciding what attacks to use?

Also, any hidden items early on in the game that I should look out for that might be missable?

That's them casting stronger attacks.

Yes,it gives you special coins in return to get better weapon, gear, items that add perks to everyone or one chharacter plus I believe its the only way to get alternate customes...you need a lot for those though, only managed to get the alternate Gully costume...anyway,he will not take artifacts that are needed for quests I am pretty sure.

Really excited to play this, I'm reading the comic series first. So far pretty standard 90s comic fare but I'm digging it.

Huh. Well that seemed unnecessarily combative.

As for me, I enjoyed the game very much, but didn't hesitate to point out what I considered to be minor, but obvious, issues. Unless a launch day patch corrected all of this, the frame rate does drop noticeably while in exploration sections / dungeons. A few of the early game dungeons show noticeable drops, particularly the sewers underneath the tavern. Undocked, the resolution and aliasing are a bit muddy during these segments as well, but again, not to an extreme degree at all (just noticeable).

My other gripe -- again, a minor gripe -- was loading times. There are many, and they can be pretty long. Going in and out of dungeons, and even initiating many battles. Sometimes combat starts instantly, and sometimes a loading screen pops up first. Otherwise I've enjoyed the game very much, and have spoken highly of it.

Yeah subnative res for dungeons, but I think battles are native 720p.

This sounds like the most sensible outcome, I had this game running on an old laptop awhile ago and the benchmarks between dungeons and battles were night and day, the latter would hit locked 60 at 1080p with maxed settings but the former couldn't reach 30 at 720p with lowest settings. It was interesting.

Are there any items that are basically only "Vendor Trash"? Any tips for making money in the game? Or is money not really a problem once you get into it?

Where can I find the comic?

Check the Op for the best deal on it atm. Its also available digitally on Comixology. If you want a physical version, I would check Amazon.

Is there any real advantage to getting this on Switch rather than PC (on in my case Mac)? I've had my eye on it for a while, but it's £35 on Switch and currently £12.49 on Steam.

It doesn't seem like the kind of game where you can get in a quick 10 minute session, so that seems to negate the portability advantage and nearly double the price is a hell of a Switch tax.
