Sorta funny that 505 Games ended up with two very different crowdfunded Metroidvania games.

Indeed, and both devs are pretty active with feedback and support, which makes the process easier. Honestly, the only one I am worried about is Bloodstained, but I think overall after the survey it is going to turn out really well one way or another.

So, I am curious for something.

I was talking with the Dev of the game "Pachacuti", Pehesse, and told me the need to have a warning about the issue of how close the authentication of Inca's culture knowledge is.

Because obviously Lab Zero do the same thing [taking knowledge from different cultures around the world], would they have a warning for culture sensitivity if they are not 'accurate'?

I think his project is different than ours, and more focused than ours is.

But maybe we'll consider some kind of notice, like "This is a work of fiction, inspired by the cultures and mythology of the world."

No one here seems to think we really need to worry about that, though, because this doesn't take place on Earth, etc.

Wait, it doesn't take place on Earth? Did I missed something new and didn't knew about this?

We've always said it was set on a fantasy world inspired by the cultures and mythologies of our own.

Doesn't this apply for Pachacuti as well?
Or any other game really?

Don't get me wrong, I find very strange to have the need to put a warning for these things, but it seems it is indeed a serious matter I guess.

No, I mean any world which have any kind fiction on it, doesn't mean automatically it doesn't take place in the real Earth?
Well no, for instance Avatar the Last Airbender is set in a fantasy world with parallels that are inspired by real life cultures and religions.

Contrast to something like, Red Dead Redemption, which is a fictional story in the real setting of the old west.

Persona is a fantasy story set on Earth, in Japan, in Tokyo, etc. The high school and some of the districts are completely made up, but it's still recognizably Tokyo.

Sherlock Holmes is fiction, set in Victorian London.

Yes, I undestand what do you mean, but the fact remain:
You and others take something which already exist in the real world and you put it in your fictional, not related with the Earth, World.

Comparing at some point your inspiration with the real deal is unavoidable.
Heck, myself I was looking informations for every single enemy in Indivisidle and share them with the users in SkullHeart's Forum.
My favourite moment was the realization that a specific set of enemies had named from the Indian Chess [or Hindu Chess? I don't remember].
I really love these kind of games. I LOVE your game for that reason. I LOVE also Shin Megami tensei series.

In general I love when someone have the idea to change completely the appearance of something which we expect that it is standar and show it with a make-over.

I find this to be a non-issue. With a quick "based on the real world" thing it is more than enough.

Well, maybe for us two and others, but I guess many people have problem how accurate are the infos about the culture and believes in one country.
Example:

latest

You can literally fight/summon Saint Maria in Shin Megami Tensei games.
I find this awesome! Some others however won't finding it so amusing even if take place in a fiction world.
Also Saint Maria in her second for is nearly naked.

Hah, a part of me knew it. Not that I mind, as I said earlier, I essentially wanted this delay to happen. Make it BETTER!

Good! I'm glad it's delayed--take your time and knead that dough to perfection.

Yeah, just learned from one of the clean up artists during a stream. A slight shame, but I'd prefer a delayed game to an unfinished one,

I had always this feeling there were many things which were ready to been shown to us.
For example at some point we saw portraits of the main characters in the style of a visual novel only once in a update. This made me feel that they need indeed more time if they want to make the game more "rich" with contents.

Yeah I had no doubt about this, it's good it's happening though.

By the way Ravidrath , I've heard how about how tedious it is to use Photoshop as cleanup for animation. I know it's kinda late to change gears now, but have you guys given a thought into looking into Clip Studio Paint?

I knew this would happen before I even backed the game, and I'm okay with it.

It probably upsets Lab Zero, but I associate them with delays, it's always worth it though so take however long you need.

About to watch this Mike Z interview that was posted on the Twitter account today. Hoping for some interesting details on Indivisible development thus far.

Edit: Pretty interesting stuff: Lots on Mike's thoughts about Indivisible and some vague details on why the delay happened, people joining to help and whatnot. They eventually go into the original Valkyrie Profile and other games that stood out in its time. Nice ambient listen, if someone is interested.

Also, it seems like we probably won't get another Backer Preview after this next one (or at least Lab Zero won't have time for another as it's very time-consuming). Honestly, I feel like I've had more than enough hands-on and am prepared to see the final product for what it is when ready. He seems excited to release the latest Preview in any case, so that's great! Mike feels really strongly about the backers, more so than I even thought and it was nice to hear.

Yeah, I had hoped to do one more, but they're just too time consuming.

The main thing we're interested in with the Backer Preview Update is feedback on the Battle System. Any more updates would be another level, and we're already seeing a lot of people bow out of the Backer Preview entirely because they don't want the game spoiled.

Wow! I'm very glad Antoine got a change because he simply didn't stand out enough before in my eyes.

I'm a bit bummed that it's the last character reveal. Though I think my girl Sangmu got redesigned and confirmed anyways (albeit more indirectly), so it'll be nice to see some surprises kept as far as movesets and other confirmed characters!

Yeah, we decided to announce this is the last one so people could move on from the handful that didn't make the cut.

I really don't think anyone can be unhappy about the actual total, though?

And I'll still be posting gameplay and animation updates for the characters we haven't done that for yet. So still lots of cool stuff to reveal.

Yeah, the total amount looks great! I'd imagine it's difficult to even conjure that many different play styles to suit Indivisible.

Good to hear there will be more gameplay/animation updates and profiles. I really enjoy those brief overviews~

I'm at the part where they're talking about VP, SO2, Legend of Legaia... lord my childhood on display. I really wanted them to localize SO: 2nd evolution to the west. There are characters I didn't even get even with 2 or 3 playthroughs. That was a massive game for its time.

And that's bumped Antoine to top tier for me. He was tempting enough, but I cannot resist a good cape.

Antoine is a vampire now? Not a design tweak I expected.

It's kind of a shame you aren't revealing any more playable incarnations. There are a lot on that original list from the Indiegogo. People are going to be wondering for months, "did my favorite make the cut?"!

What does the total playable list look like right now, revealed officially or revealed by streams? Anyone have a total count?
