I just bought a 2002 Chevy Astro. I'm going to covert it into a camper van and live out of it for maybe a few years. As I was driving it home from the dealership the service engine soon light came on. Already have to spend $850 on repairs. This better not become a frequent occurrence, or I'll be broke before I know it.

Red 2018 Nissan Juke

Not my pic obviously, and I think that's an older model. Anyway, it's such a fun car to drive and I smile every time I see it waiting for me in the driveway or in a mall parking lot. It just stands out like a happy, oblivious puppy.

I was out of country and left my 95' Nissan Pathfinder with my dad. The mid 90's Nissan Pathfinders are something of legend in my family. One uncle carried one to 500,000 miles. Plus they were cars you could actually open up and tinker with.

Now a days cars look like this

Wtf is that? It's like the 3 shells in Demolition Man.

Anyway, My dad who rebuilt a fucking 76' Jaguar E-Type forgot to put oil in my car. It poetically stopped working once I came home driving it from the airport. No rods popped out but there are leaks in the camshafts. Not sure why I posted here to vent except my Dad bought a new Toyota Highlander and I've been helping him set up the blu-tooth while I'm wondering if I get his old car or what.

ech. first world issues.

500,000 miles?! Damn. What a tank! How much work, maintenance and repair does a car like that take to make it to 500k?

I been looking at the 2017 rav4 platinum, dealer has it for around 28,000. Sounds like a good deal. Will see how it goes

2016 Jaguar XF S, just 7k miles on the clock.

Murdered out all black (grills, vents, wheels etc). Well optioned (10" Touch Pro infotainment, TFT dials, 20" rims, upgraded sound system, cold climate etc).

Beautiful drive and immensely torquey engine. Even when it's not set to racing/dynamic mode if you slam the throttle the rear tires wheelspin straight away, which is quite fun.

Are you in serious need of a new vehicle? The refreshed rav4 comes out later this year and it looks really nice.

I been going back and forth on it. Wait till October or buy now and trade it in a year or 2 later and get the new one. It's not needed that badly but family has grown and a car for the summer would help alot...

A 2010 Skoda Octavia Combi. Needed a big car, because kids, and one that is affordable. Skoda was easily the best drive out of all of the cars we test drove. Love it.

Many older engine types are practically indestructible with regular maintenance. My friends dads oldsmobile has probably close to million miles on it and still running.

We are way past those days now, no engine built today lasts that long. Even my cheapo E46 BMW has 350 000km and no major maintenance was ever done to the engine.

Still in love with my old Cayman. For drives around town I still use my pos Perodua Kancil, but I just bought an electric scooter for smaller trips to the groceries.

2016 Mazda3 GT Sport Sedan in blue. It looks good inside and out, cheap to run and good fun to drive.

How many Oldsmobiles died well before that, and how many E46s failed catastrophically? Don't fall for the survivor bias.

Give it time and there will be tons of 500,000 mile 2018 vehicles out there.

A few days ago I was driving my 2010 Jeep Wrangler, then I got in a 4 car pile up on the highway.

Now I'm driving a rental Ford Fusion. It's pretty nice.

I always wanted a self driving car, though that may take a few years. I can only upgrade if my current car stops working, or becomes dangerous.

How much does it cost to fully recharge an electric cars, Tesla folks?

Electricity costs 17 cents kWh, then bumps up to 25 (100% to 400% Baseline Allocation), then 35 (over 400%).

2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, I'm happy with it, but I want my next car to have a bit more horsepower.

Well over the past couple years I went from a 2016 Stingray 2LT which was my dream car but are so cheaply made cars. I went through 3 door panels, a catalytic converter and they were about to replace the entire dash before I just said forget it and traded it in. Too many issues for a brand new car!

From that I went to a completely blacked out 2016 BMW 428i contvertible which was fun but the loss in power was pretty drastic. 7 months later I traded that one in for BMW 435i. This time not convertible, but got the options I was missing from the prior, heads up display, LED headlights instead of HID, Harmon Kardon sound system, not to mention the twinscroll turbo inline 6. Pretty sure this cars a keeper, I'm actually starting mods for it now!

I'll post pics of the three later if anyone wants to see them (I had a hard time on the old forum figuring out how to post the stingray lol.)

I take buses and rent bikes. Durham, NC has a lovely rent-a-bike program that I'm really getting some mileage out of lately.

Pick up a Type R last week

Just got it lowered :p
Its been 15 years since I've had a Civic lol. Couldn't be more impressed though, rocket ship fast, no torque steer, tight gear box, and handles like a Porsche (Kinda :p)

I drive 2013 Civic. It's nice to drive, it's reliable and I would probably drive it till the end of times, but recently I started thinking of moving to Civic X since I heard that it is much nicer to drive (Type R will not fly with my wife :))

Though I am thinking of something bigger as well since our family got bigger last year, but I feel that Civic gives a nice balance between stuff we can fit in the trunk and smallish car for driving around cities.

Basically this:

2014-Honda-Accord-EX-L-V6.jpg

It's a 2014 Honda Accord v6 exl. It's a nice car in many ways, far superior driving than my old car in the winter and I live in Minnesota so winters are harsh. When it's not winter though, I really, really miss my old car.

That's not my car but it was a Pontiac GTO v8 6.0 liter, red similar to this one, with a Cam. My Honda has just under 300 hp but it still doesn't compare to the GTO, which was 400 hp at the rear wheels, closer to 500 hp at the crank. With the Cam it was an amazing sounding car too. There's something extremely liberating about knowing that all you need to get past someone is a sliver of daylight. What's funny is that it was also more comfortable than my Honda in some ways. The leather seating was definitely superior to that in my Honda. Though some of the cheaply made bits on the Pontiac were starting to fall apart in the interior which was a bit annoying. One thing I really liked about it is that it was a muscle car that you don't see very often, like the Mustangs, Challengers and Cameros you see everywhere. it's honestly a bit of a collector's item because they only made this version of the Pontiac GTO for 3 years.

After my little Corsa was written off in an argument with a lorry, I decided to upgrade when I got a replacement.

1.4 diesel (I do a lot of motorway miles, as I commute to work), and every available gadget and gizmo for the Fiesta. Voice control is a very cool feature.

2013 Hyundai Veloster with Style/Tech Package. The above isn't my picture, but it is the exact color/config/year.

I was looking at getting a 2018/2019 Veloster because I liked this one so much, then discovered they no longer have that blue so decided against it.

Seattle here. The "good" people at Washington's department of licensing recently switched to six year, enhanced id driver's licenses. But for some goddamned reason, they are randomly choosing about 20% of people and giving them TWO YEAR licenses, "to ensure a smoother rollout of the new license style."

Guess who lucked out and got one of these awesomely inconvenient bullshits?

A 2000 Opel Astra, but since I might have to drive more for work I'm gonna start looking for a younger/smaller model. Maybe a Corsa or a (what's the smaller Golf called again?).

Ah yeah here in California theyre handing out two kinds of licenses on renewal, a Federal compliant one which you have to go into the office and prove your identity again and a non compliant one that wont be good for boarding flights in a few years. At least we get a choice though.
