They're a decent set of guys collectively but not a single one ever gives me confidence when he takes the mound. Clearly why we don't have a set closer. Still, they've managed to hold the fort admirably after some rough pitching starts - I just don't see that lasting the whole season.

Arte better open up the coffers come trade deadline to get a pen worthy of contention.

Our pitching collectively is not that great. Our starting pitching can't consistently give us at least 6 innings every start which taxes the pen. But I have no faith in anyone that comes out of that bullpen to shutdown the opponent. Pretty much we're going to have to rely on our offense to win games.

I hope Eppler can pull off some trades to get us bullpen help and maybe another SP before the deadline. It doesn't look like Shoemaker will be back anytime soon. Guys like Skaggs, Richards and Heaney are gonna have to step it up and show better control, which they have as of late, but they're going to need to get longer starts out of those guys so we don't have to over extend the pen.

Mets call up Dom Smith, LHP Buddy Baumann. Place Jay Bruce on paternity list and Robles on 10 day DL.

National League seems like the better league so far this season. 10 of the 15 teams in the league are over .500

Meanwhile the American League right now has a division with zero teams above .500

Who makes it out of the AL? Right now, it's a three horse race between Astros, Yankees, and Sox. I see it staying that way all the way into October. We are in for some exciting postseason baseball.
I'm kind of rooting for an AL version of the 2006 world series where the AL central victor goes to the playoffs with an 83-78 record and then wins the world series :P

I don't think that's an argument for the NL being better, they're just bottomfeeding off of terrible/mediocre AL teams with small sample sizes. The Rays, Royals, Tigers, and White Sox are collectively 1-17 in interleague play. I feel like this season is bit odd too, because I can't remember there being this many absolutely putrid teams this early in the season. The Royals took like 2/3rds a month to win against a team that scored a run, and they're only the 4th worst team in baseball for god's sake.

It's almost like Sonny Gray's issues had absolutely nothing to do with Gary Sanchez and everything to do with Sonny Gray being bad at his job.

Oops. Didn't mean to say Graveman was going to give up 40. I meant Gray man.

Ozzie Albies is going to hit 30 HRs. (or more).

He is once again tied for the NL lead in HRs. 12 with Harper.

Wow... Red Sox just got to 3rd base on a strike out that gave them the go ahead run and it was the slowest runner on their team Sandy Leon.

I'm not a fan of how Boone goes to the bottom of the bullpen when we are losing by 1 or 2 runs. The idea is to keep us close not to let us get further behind.

Did hasn't gotten a hit since May 3. Guy has to be due for a hit sometime soon.

Edit: Or not. He's gonna go 0-40 at this rate.
