Man they canceled Lucifer? That's sucks though I guess I was part of the problem. I really enjoyed season 1 & 2, just been busy and missed season 3

If the FOX broadcasting company falls under the "New FOX Company" how can Disney own all those rights? That's like 90% of the programming and should be illegal since Disney already owns ABC. This is confusing.

EDIT; It's not letting me quote the person who quoted me with all the information.

Not everything on Fox is specifically owned by Fox. Gotham is WB, for example, so Disney wouldn't get the rights to that.

LMS was produced by Fox even when it was on ABC. Part of the reason for the cancellation despite solid ratings was that they themselves weren't seeing as big of a cut.

It is dead but if the fans make enough noise like what's going on with Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Hulu or some other network may look at it and think about picking it up. It's a very long shot but it's been done before.

It really helps that the show is currently trending on Twitter like B99 did yesterday. That got Hulu and TBS to notice it.
If they do get renewed, I hope they just move things along and try not to drag it out hoping for more seasons to come. lol

I remain somewhat optimistic that Gotham might survive for one more season.

The producers said Season 5 will be a reboot of the show. (Not that there was anything wrong with Season 4 -- quality wise, it's one of Gotham's best seasons)

Also, Season 5 would let the producers wrap the show up with Bruce finally becoming Batman and Gordon becoming commissioner.

I'm sure putting it on after Roseanne helped it a lot. Alex, Inc. would've benefited from it too but, well, you can see how that's going.
I think the Middle is after Roseanne actually. I believe the lead in for Splitting Up Together was Blackish? Now I'm not so sure. Unless you mean having it on Roseanne's night to keep pulling viewers. Lol watch Alex Inc somehow get renewed through some miracle

I just mean for that night, not necessarily the show that's on right before it.

So is this officially the season with the most "old" shows being cancelled (or having their final seasons)? It sure feels like it.

9 Seasons: The Middle
7 Seasons: Scandal, Once Upon a Time, New Girl
6 Seasons: The Americans, Teen Wolf, Nashville
5 Seasons: The Originals, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Last Ship, The Fosters
4 Seasons: The Last Man on Earth, The Librarians, 12 Monkeys
3 Seasons: Quantico, Lucifer, The Expanse

(Probably missing a bunch too.)

Other shows got renewed for a final season like Jane The Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, UnREAL. The upcoming seasons of Big Bang Theory and Modern Family are rumored to be the last ones... And there's still a whole bunch of older shows on the bubble like Criminal Minds, Elementary, Fresh off the Boat, The Blacklist, Scorpion, iZombie, HTGAWM, Gotham, SHIELD, etc.

In other years it seems to have been mostly the freshmen shows that get scrapped, now it seems the opposite.

lool. It's like they cancelled everything basically. Shit like Dynasty can get renewed but they won't even pick up Supernatural spin off.

At this point, I'm sure iZombie is gone. Like come on. Everything is cancelled.

That makes absolutely no sense. They spent half of the season building up to a two-part spinoff episode that was received with praise from fans.

One of the most consistent performers in the history of The CW with an incredibly dedicated fanbase and they pass on it?

Oh come the fuck on.... They green light crap like dynasty bit not a show with a pre installed fan base.

Dynasty is made by CBS, which owns 50% of the network but is only responsible for three of their shows. Supernatural is made by Warner Bros, responsible for about 12 of the shows on the network. It is a balance act.

I was sure Wayward Sisters would get the greenlight. It's the best idea for a Supernatural spinoff that they'll ever come up with.
