So...We dropped 2MD yesterday. If anyone's played it on their setup, I'm curious to know how it feels :).
I love it very much, it's pretty much all I've played the last two evenings I can't get enough of it. I'm not great at it but damn do you feel like a badass when a play you drew up busts a defense, so kudos to the team on allowing players to create custom routes. Good sliders too for throwing height/sensitivity which is helpful in my attic room so I don't throw my hand too hard and punch through the chimney.

The art style works really well with the style of game too, the stadium for the Pixels in particular is awesome.

Anyone looking at 2MD and are on the fence, if you have an interest in football it's a no brainer IMO.

That's good to hear. Nobody around here has mentioned it so I've been having a little freak out that nobody is playing it :0

Okay, random question: I've messed with games and stuff plenty, but I got an itch and am trying to find a decent rollercoaster ride video. The easy solution was to try Youtube, but man... no matter which one I tried, they were all way, waaaaaay too blurry to do anything for me (and I'm usually not a big stickler for image quality, either!) Is there a place I could like, download something in higher quality or something? Or is it the kind of thing where it's not feasible to capture decent 360 video under those conditions and it's just not out there? (Not helping that my googlefu is getting sidetracked by the fact that there's apparently an awful rollercoaster game out there that is making up most of the hits.)

Hell, would love decent VR videos of theme park rides in general, coasters just seemed like the easiest choice.

PSVR without parole covered it in their weekly update. No review yet though.
I love the concept. Though I don't know much about NFL. Is detailed NFL knowledge needed, given it's just the last 2 minutes of a game?

Also, no Launch discount for EU? :(

We made a request, but EU has some strange regulations about pricing (for example, we are allowed to request a wholesale price, but we aren't allowed to set the retail price). Also, communication with SIEE is sporadic at best. :/

Do you get the trophy information back to you so you know how far people have got & what they're struggling with?

I think there's a server management tool for that, but I don't need it to know. The hardest to get is probably the platinum, since you have to get all the trophies and beat the championship. Once you unlock them all you get a championship ring :) so I just look for that.

Been going through my PSVR backlog. Finished Eagle Flight and Here They Lie this past week. I enjoyed Eagle Flight for what it is but the issue I had was the controls. Tilting your head didn't work with me as I always seem to tilt my body and somehow end up rotating away from the camera. I played the demo of Here They Lie and was looking forward to it. The biggest issue for me is the overall impacted picture if you do not use the click turning controls. So much of the picture is blocked out and in a very dark game it can impact where you can see. Especially since in certain segments you have to run where it can be dark and if you're turning most of the picture is blocked out from your view. I even died in certain places because of this. The game even jumps forward if you die because the checkpoint could be past the enemy you needed to avoid. I got both games on sale and completed them in just a few hours. Probably the next game I'm going to play is Archangel. Another title I got during its last sale.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that was your(username) game. I just remember getting some cool Themes from you back in the day on the old site hah, I'm oblivious. Congrats on it, it's really awesome! Lots of nice little touches, and yeah I get the platinum now because the championship is no joke. The 10 consecutive catches is the 2nd hardest. Great job though, I almost died laughing from AWOL_soldiers stream as well.

Update on Preta:Vendetta Rising.

-Patch aimed for the end of May to reduce grinding for materials and lower store costs, as well as bug fixes.
- double raid point weekends soon
-Possible replay button for raids
-They have listened to community feedback and have decided to make the single player playable offline. They just need time.
-They are hoping to have Chapters 4 and 5 ready in the summer if they can.
-They are discussing how and when they can do co-op.

I already love the hell out of this game, but they are trying to make it even better and get enough support to finish extra chapters and add co-op. I really think it deserves better.

I'm thinking about picking a bundle up that includes the controllers. Should I try to wait for a sale or something?

Man, I finally tried Obduction in VR. It's.. rough visually. Like I don't think I've ever seen anything this bad yet in VR. I'll still play it though. But I think I'll hold a few months in hopes of a pro patch.

I mean look, maybe it's a bit over the top for what your looking for, but Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is the best Rollercoaster app in VR.

Horus station price and release date announced tommorow, Got some high hopes for that as i'm all for co-op campaigns in VR.
And we defo need some new meaty games for PSVR, Literally only bought Killing floor this year.

Will happily buy Preta if they can somehow make it co-op campaign.

For those that quit playing PSVR because of the HDR issue, I'm baffled why that's the line for you. It's a cable switch right? So why does that make you not want to play PSVR? As opposed to games, controls, hardware capabilities?

I've never seen anyone post that they quit playing because of the HDR issue. Maybe I'm not paying attention? But I'm sure it's a tiny number of people.

There was a post a few back that said they don't use it anymore because of the HDR issue and I hear it from time to time, but like you say you'd think it's only a minority. Just wanted to hear a little more from them on how much of an issue it actually was for them.

I have a splitter to solve the problem for myself - but lots of people have entertainment units that make it incredibly difficult to get behind to swap cables around.

I'm sure some people are just insulted that that's the only option Sony left them. There's no other entertainment device I own that constantly requires changing cables to make use of standard features.

YouTube reviewer re-reviews Polybius as he realized after his initial review that the game was far, far better than he first thought.

Really like their reviews. Their re-review of Cold Iron is also really making me want it.

Back in physical reality I hurt my back about six weeks ago. This means I haven't been using my PSVR as I can't twist or move my arms as freely as I'd like as the movements aggravate it.

Earlier today I had an email from PlayStation asking to complete a survey on why I don't use it any more
kHFSyAx.jpg

Kinda creepy that my usage has been monitored, but quite interesting what reasons they were suggesting as to why I may have stopped playing. They gave options such as poor graphics, blurry graphics/images, too much hassle to set up, not enough games etc. Then they wanted to know how like I was to play again, what would make me come back etc.

I basically had to answer a variation on 'other - I'll play again when my back stops hurting' for most of it. But I did say I was disappointed that there were no original titles even approaching the scale of Skyrim and the lack of first party titles outside of the first year of release; which is giving me some Vita deja-vous.

Just finished Obduction. While it's definitely one of the rougher-looking VR games out there (as is Skyrim - turns out downscaling a large, detailed world to work on PSVR is way harder than designing for PSVR from the get-go), I've played worse-looking games.

The lack of direct motion turned out not to be the limitation it initially seems. If there was (or will be, via a hypothetical future patch) an option for direct motion, I'd be willing to bet money that anyone who finished this game in VR eventually switched back to teleportation anyways. There's a huge amount of walking in this game, and teleportation is far faster than the fastest movement speed in the non-VR version; I'd estimate that I would have easily spent an extra two to three hours in the game if I hadn't been teleporting.

Pure gameplay-wise, though - if anyone has fond memories of wandering the worlds of Myst - which is bound to be a very small minority of modern gamers - I strongly recommend picking this up and playing it either in VR or FlatVision®. I played a lot of the Myst games, plus a lot of their competition (Frankenstein, Journeyman Project, RHEM, The Lighthouse, Morpheus, Titanic, Riddle Of The Sphinx, even Starship Titanic, to name some just off the top of my head), but no one does these games like Cyan and the Miller brothers. It takes a while to bust out of the opening area of the game (or it did me - now that I've finished, I've looked at a walkthrough and seen that you could do that far earlier than I did), but once you do this game is huge and deep. Most of the way through, if I got stuck on something, I'd head off for something else I'd noticed but hadn't dealt with immediately, only to find that led me down a whole 'nother rabbit-holely pathway.

Even with its limitations, I have exactly the same reaction to Obduction in VR that I did with Skyrim* - I'm incredibly happy that I've had the opportunity to walk through this huge, expansive world, rather than just watching it though a window. It's like the difference between visiting a place and looking at beautifully-photographed, detailed postcards, even if you lost your glasses during the trip and couldn't see it as well as you'd like. With both of these games I could easily switch back to the much-prettier flat-screen version (well, easier with Obduction, since it's the same game saves), but now that I've done the VR version I can't imagine doing so. Being in the world is fundamentally better.

*which I put 130 hours into prior to the PSVR version, and to my surprise I've now put over 100 hours into via PSVR. Skyrim is big.

As a new PS VR owner I somehow didn't know about Obduction even though I kept saying to myself "I'd like a Myst in VR!"

So THANK YOU for sharing your thoughts.

See my initial post about it, though. It's definitely a game with some undeniable issues, and the general consensus among people who've played less than an hour of it (many of whom, I suspect, haven't played it at all but have just heard of the issues) is that it's not worth bothering with. I figured it would be useful to balance that out from the perspective of someone who's played the whole thing.

The PSVR version of Xing isn't out yet (just Windows, Vive, and Oculus so far), but it's forthcoming and I've heard from Myst fans that it's a good Myst-alike.

Yeah, only could put 20 minutes on it but I intend to go back once I have time for it.

It's not a looker but I know I'll enjoy it anyway.

Ok, thanks. If you have played Killing Floor, would you recommend that over this?
I did play both Killing Floor and Apex Construct, and in my opinion you'll be better served with Killing Floor. The game is so much fun, you can play the campaign co-op with a friend and when you finish the game you have the "Holdout" mode, where it's basically an endless mode. For me it's a must have for any FPS lover out there. The melee mechanics on the game is awesome. I played on the Pro btw, heard some OG users complaining about the graphics, but I can't say anything as I myself never compared both. Oh, and the campaing should last between 3 to 4 hours in normal mode (there's also a hardcore difficulty).

Being selfish I really wished Sony would allow Pro only PSVR content. I really want both Project Cars 2 and Assetto Corsa in VR and the comments from both developers sound like they could achieve it with the Pro but not the base PS4. I understand why they don't but damn they are my dream PSVR games. Maybe I need to stop being cheap and go PCVR sooner rather than later.

Turns out we arent getting Horus station when it's released at the end of may, We have to wait until summer so they can polish up the PS4 experience. E3 is huge for me now whether i keep/sell my PSVR. I own about 20 VR games, Yet only bought 1 this year in Killing Floor. Just hasn't reached last years or release dates heights. Even Batman/Rush of Blood was better than what wer'e getting now with the likes of Ark Park, Bravo Team, Inpatient etc.

Might get the dlc for Star Trek if i can convince my other 3 PSVR friends to dust off they're headsets.

You checked out Wipeout, Sprint Vector, Apex Construct, Moss? Well worth checking out as they are some of the better games on the hardware even if you think they might not be exactly your sort of thing. To The Top is out at the end of the month and from what I played that is well worth it, for some reason I have it in my head that also has co-op though not played that aspect myself.

But yeah the information from Sony has been a bit too thin this year.

I've massively enjoyed Moss, Sprint Vector and WipEout. Apex Construct is still on my Wish List, with dozens more VR titles I haven't gotten to yet. It's crazy that the WipEout update was free.

I think this year would be fine, if the high profile titles The Inpatient and Bravo Team hadn't disappointed. But those failures aren't all on Sony.

You can't expect another Skyrim sized title every year, without it being a remaster of an old game. The market is not there for such large scale experiences - targeting VR exclusively.
Skyrim took several to build originally, and then took more time to adapt it to VR.

I'll probably get Wipeout eventually, Racing just isn't my thing but i'll end up getting it. I think now i'm more co-op based as it's unreal immersion with a friend which is why i was hoping we would get Horus Station on release. E3 is soon so we'll know more of what's coming out, I just hope it isn't like Sony's spring for 30 tripe they put out. Any more news on Seeking Dawn? That's the game i really want asap.

All those GC mentioned are top notch, but yeah Killing Floor is definitely the best co-op game this year I can think of as Sprint Vector and Wipeout are more competitive. Its gonna be a while before Preta has more co-op, if more people supported it would already have it ready soon, but it's just baaaarely holding on right now, fingers crossed it pulls through.

Other than that, Farpoint is probably the best co-op PSVR has to offer. Sooo goood. Then Battlezone and I hear great things about Star Trek.

Iv'e mentioned Farpoint too many times on this site lol... So I have to like take a step back as I can tend to wax lyrical about it, Especially in co-op and those ice levels. I think I'll buy Preta, I'm looking for another RPG fix anyway, And I'll Defo Be getting the dlc for Star Trek aswell. Dlc for Arizona soon which will be fun. And then E3 will give us a better picture of what's coming.

Looks cool, pervader seems almost oo good to be true graphicswise.

There are several of these types of games on Steam. They are developed by Chinese outsourcing art farms, so the graphics look great. Unfortunately, the programming and design are absolutely god awful. They play like those shovelware Unity asset store FPS games that saturate Steam.
