Damn you Capcom. Imported MHXX thinking they backstabbed Nintendo. Now I need this in my life. Will get the Colllectors edition
Did the same. I'm not even mad tbh, I knew they'd do it.

Cheers. Wonder why that one is so late too. Capcom really like taking their time with this series.Targeted time frame for the PC-version is autumn last we heard.
Isn't MHW best selling Capcom game and that's before PC version? In what timeline is there a backlash? Seriously, sometimes folks need to put down the keyboard/phone and step away.
No criticism is ever universal. You can see that here in this thread. I love the game but I actively avoid rerunning quests on forest because I don't like KO'ing a monster and having its head flail around inside a random tree or wall. I want to fight the monster, not the map.Sure but that criticism isnt universal among the fanbase in the slightest
Not from what i can tell
I don't see a backlash against MHW, but from personal experience, myself and my friends dropped off at around HR60 in early February and never once thought to return. We kind of all agreed the game was great but didn't scratch the same itch as MH4U or MHX on 3DS. And the content wasn't enough to keep us there.Isn't MHW best selling Capcom game and that's before PC version? In what timeline is there a backlash? They said they want to make sure it's well optimized for PC and not half-assed port IIRC. Depending on how far along the inevitable G-rank expansion is, it might even come bundled with PC-version depending on how long it takes to release the base game. That's my guess anyway.Cheers. Wonder why that one is so late too. Capcom really like taking their time with this series.
What bubble? Era isn't the only gaming community I visit, plus I know literally hundreds of gamers IRL. As an outsider, it felt like everyone went MHW crazy for a hot minute, then went right back to Fortnite (I don't play either franchise for the record.)
If it's like XX (and I expect it will be), there'll be a 3DS download which transfers over just about all of your stuff. As I recall, there were just a few minor limitations with DLC quest gear and the like. How is the save transfer going to work exactly? Will it just bring the complete save over with all my stuff or are there limitations for what I can bring over?
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
At this time of the day
At this time of the year
Localised entirely one year after the Japanese release

Please tell me you're joking ._.Agreed! The Ancient Forest is one of the best designed video games maps ever.
Going by memory, I do believe XX offered a one-time chance to re-customize your hunter when importing data from the 3DS game. So Generations Ultimate would have the same feature.Sweet. Will there a way to change any aspects of my character?
PR:
The highly anticipated Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, the follow up to Monster Hunter Generations, marks the series debut on Nintendo Switch as an exclusive when it launches on August 28, 2018 for digital and physical retail purchase across North America and Europe. For the first time, gamers have the flexibility to play both local wireless and online multiplayer with up to three other hunters – whether playing at home on the big screen or on the go in handheld or tabletop mode. E3 attendees can check out a demo of the game at the Capcom booth (#2223) this June.
Hunters can face off against the series' largest roster of unique monsters in this nostalgic look back at the series' beginnings and evolutions. Take on the role of a brave hunter on an adrenaline-fueled adventure challenging larger-than-life beasts. Completing quests will yield valuable resources for crafting countless distinct weapons and equipment fashioned after players' defeated foes. Along their journey, hunters must defend each of the game's four villages from major threats known as the Fated Four, plus an even more dangerous new Elder Dragon.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate features a blend of classic gameplay and unique new twists, brand new explorable areas and monsters, plus returning fan-favorites like the lightning fast Zinogre and the stealthy long-tailed Nargacuga. This release introduces a new quest level called "G" rank that features even more formidable versions of familiar foes, truly testing experienced hunters' battle tactics now with different moves and abilities never before seen in the wild!
For newcomers to the series, the gameplay features tons of powerful super moves called Hunter Arts that can be executed with a quick tap on the touch screen. Players can experiment and choose from six different Hunting Styles including two new ones called Brave Style, which rewards players with new moves for landing successive attacks; and Alchemy Style, a support style that grants the ability to create useful items on the fly during combat. Hunters are encouraged to explore and customize the experience between quests to discover their preferred, highly personalized playstyle.
Players of the original Monster Hunter Generations can transfer save data from the previous title to continue their journey in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
I haven't played the game (or really kept up with any of the news because I never expected this to make it over), but I'm pretty sure it brings over everything. How is the save transfer going to work exactly? Will it just bring the complete save over with all my stuff or are there limitations for what I can bring over?
I bet if MHW got a ultimate version with the same amount of monsters as Gen Ultimate, people will still find flaws about it.
And I also bet if there is a new MH game on switch with the exact same game design features as World these very same people will praise it and say it did better than world.
Actually, Tri on the Wii did have split screen. As far as I know, Monster Hunter on the PS2 and Wii had no split-screen option. "Local multiplayer" on the 3DS was literally multiple players bringing their handhelds into the same room. Everyone still played the game on their own screen.
You could get the same effect with Monster Hunter World if everyone brought their consoles to one location, it's just not very convenient.
Damn. It's a really nice addition to the Switch, but I doubt I'll get it since the MHW is just better in ANY way besides the amount of contents. But MHW only came out a few months, I can almost guarantee that MHW will have way more contents than any other MH in the series in the long run.
(no console war)
Now let's bring MHW to Switch please. I would love to play it when I am in the bathroom.
You said 3 days like c'mon now? What bubble? Era isn't the only gaming community I visit, plus I know literally hundreds of gamers IRL. As an outsider, it felt like everyone went MHW crazy for a hot minute, then went right back to Fortnite (I don't play either franchise for the record.)
Everyone went to Fortnite. More content to MHW will come and people will jump back. It sold a ton, held interest for a while and that was the goal. What bubble? Isn't August when people were expecting MHWorld on PC? I don't really think I can go back to old Gen MH, as much as I love some of the fights.
I really didn't like it. The later maps were better, but the Ancient Forest was legitimately a massive fucking maze with 800,000 layers of winding paths snaking around each other. It was still a pain in the ass for me to navigate after 200 hours, and I still needed the scoutflies to find out how the hell to get to certain areas toward the end. Maybe you get used to it after 500 hours. I never liked glowy trails because they're a crutch that leads players to just follow the sparkles and ignore the environment. Especially when they're so huge and bright they literally take up half the screen sometimes. Thankfully, again, I did get used to the later areas as they're more distinctive, with larger open areas and fewer tiny paths, and more straightforward and intuitive to navigate yourself.Map design in MHW is excellent, actually. Lots of good verticality and a sense of scale where you actually feel like you're in a world and not some glorified arena. Scoutflies are a good hand-holding solution for players that don't know the map layouts or simply want to go to the monster's location with little effort, which is necessary when maps get as large as they have and players aren't used to the layouts. That and fast travel were the best choices they could have made.
I eventually memorised monster locations and map layouts so I didn't rely on the scoutflies much in the end.
Pretty sure that was just for the canned arena quests, though. It was a really limited way to play together locally.
Fair, plus they at least allow you to transfer your 3DS save file.3DS NPD software sales have been really slow. Switch is a much larger market now. It's not worth localizing the 3DS version.
No, it's been pegged as an autumn release at the earliest.Isn't August when people were expecting MHWorld on PC? I don't really think I can go back to old Gen MH, as much as I love some of the fights.
Yeah, nah. MHW has only added two monsters since release. I don't expect it to eclipse the content of this game — or even vanilla Generations for that matter — until it's inevitable sequel/iteration.Damn. And it's literally the same game in terms of content, so 3DS owners aren't getting the short-end of the stick if they're looking at this version. The DQXI situation is much more frustrating that this could ever aspire to be.Fair, plus they at least allow you to transfer your 3DS save file.
That likely won't happen for two reasons.Damn. It's a really nice addition to the Switch, but I doubt I'll get it since the MHW is just better in ANY way besides the amount of contents. It's a personal opinion. But I like maps that are not hand holdy with a lot of verticallity and gives the feeling of being lost. Please tell me you're joking ._.
Ancient Forest is one of the most convoluted, messily designed maps in gaming as a whole.
It won't even come close. They're not adding anywhere close to that many monsters to make it possible
No it's not. The 3DS version of XX was never localized so they're missing out on a lot of content. And it's literally the same game in terms of content, so 3DS owners aren't getting the short-end of the stick if they're looking at this version. It was, but it was still there and still fun.Pretty sure that was just for the canned arena quests, though. It was a really limited way to play together locally.

That's not true, you can play as a prowler all the time, there are just special missions that require them.
