I would've fucked with this so hard if it came out a year ago
But now after World? I don't know if I can. I love the portability and flexibility but it'll be pretty hard not to feel like a big step back in many ways.

While we're at it, I'd like them to port this to PC too if MHW does well there.
I think it may be too little too late for the mass audience, but I know a few people who will be buying Switches now.

It is, but going by DF's analysis, this turned out to be a pretty nice upgrade to the original, with lots of new textures and lighting improvements all around. The only thing that sucks is that it's locked at 30 fps with some frame pacing issues, but I can't imagine that there was any way to get around that since it was fully compatible with the 3DS version.

Does this have any of the QoL enhancements that World has?

I'm guessing this is to keep Western Switch owners happy until a MHW Portable in 2019? MHW was never going to come to the Switch before the PC version and that's still slated for the fall so we'll see. I guess it's better than nothing.
Switch port so I assume it'll be pretty big especially for people who just want more MH in general. MHW is kinda in a lull atm so those people can have more stuff to chase.
No they're not. Not until World. Feeling like a right sucker right now. I didn't even play Generations that much.
I'm actually thinking it'll do better because World was a thing. That was a phenomena Switch-only owners just straight up didn't get to take part in. That entry also heavily increased the series' worth to the west at large.
I shit you not, I said yesterday that even Capcom wasn't stupid enough to leave that money sitting on the table. They dragged ass on this and it's definitely not a flattering comparison to Monster Hunter World, but I'm in. I'm sure at least a million other people are, too.

Meh. Zero interest of playing another Monster Hunter that is exactly the same thing as the ones before it. World or bust. How anyone can still get into this old stale formula is beyond me. But have fun I guess...
