Pleasantly surprised by Halls accent, it's actually pretty great. Just weird hearing it come from him lol.

I'm just finishing up the last season of Six Feet Under for the first time so I'll hold off on watching this trailer. I've only ever known Michael C Hall as David (haven't seen Dexter) so this would break my mind

It's good. Solid.

Doesn't make up for Season 8 of Dexter but bar dressing up in the Union Jack and singing Rule Britannia in the Queen's English nothing ever would

This looks interesting. Will check it

Nice. The very idea of Americans doing a foreign accent sets off an alarm in my head; it's practically reflexive.

Re the singing...Thankfully we do live in a world of possibilities.

If they just wanna go ahead and make this a Dexter spiritual successor I won't mind.

I'm British and his acent sounds a bit off in the trailer to me. It's like he's gone a bit too proper with it and is verging on cartoon character a bit. Hard to judge off the little dialogue given though.

Yeah, there's a clipped edge to his accent that doesn't sound right. It's definitely a good attempt, but I feel like watching this it's going to be massively distracting. Dunno why they couldn't have just had him as an American transplant, there are plenty of them in the country.

I'm not British and this accent sounds exactly how I would speak if I were playing this role.

Lol what an accent! Never knew the actor was British. This is more shocking than when I found out about Idris Elba!

This show doesn't really seem like my cup of tea but I will give it a shot anyway.

Good to see Hall in something again feel like I haven't seen him since Dexter.

Not digging the accent. He does what most American actors do and over-affects the accent to try and compensate for his own one. At least you can't hear the American slipping through, so it could be a lot worse.

There are some really light English accents that go around. From the trailer it seems pretty good.

Actors doing accents can be fine, and even excellent and at the sametime being inauthentic. It just has to sound good and not be bothersome. Sometimes, the bit or act is quite enjoyable.

Plenty of British actors with preposterous American accents that can still be enjoyable. Gerard Butler. Even Idris Elba cannot pull of an American accent.

In for Hall.

For Hall fans, check out Cold in July. Him, Don Johnson and Sam Shepard. Outstanding movie there.

People complaining about his accent, give the man a break. It's not like Liam Neeson forgetting he's supposed to be German in Schindlers List & that's one of the most respected performances & films ever made.

This show is like if twin peaks took itself way too seriously

It's not bad. I'm about done with it now and I don't really regret watching it. It gets kind of dumb when the writers put themselves in a corner and have to hack their way out with bs, but eh. I suppose given how seriously it takes itself that probably will hurt it a lot in most's eyes.

I got used to the accent pretty quick. It helps that he never really talks at great length. On episode 5. It is entertaining.

Watched this with the wife and overall it was good. I felt some characters and parts were annoying at points but the ending actually cleared those up for the most part and gave some additional context.

I have one episode left. The wife and I have enjoyed it so far.

Marc Warren is great in this but then, he always is.

I really enjoyed this show. I have to say though they really did rip off Broadchurch. You can see it everywhere. Not sure if Broadchurch ripped that style from something else first

Enjoyed it a lot. Something weirdly artificial about Hall's accent though. Obviously it is artificial but I mean in the sense that it sounded British but stands apart for some reason that I can't place my finger on.

I have to say I'm a big fan of this style. Don't mind subtitles either so I'll look into it.
The two biggies are The Killing and The Bridge. Don't be put off by the various inferior remakes of these shows, the originals are fantastic. Also check out Marcella, a UK detective series by the same writer as The Bridge. Very much in the same tradition with a stellar lead performance by Anna Friel.

Wallender is another one worth watching.

Just finished watching this with my wife. I thought it was okay, nothing spectacular and a bit predictable but entertaining enough. I thought the cast was all pretty good and Dexter's accent was fine to my ears (I'm English). A few things annoyed me though, such as would they really have kept Sophie on the case when she had strong personal ties to almost everyone involved? Anyway, worth checking out for fans of mystery drama-type shows.

I really enjoyed this show. I have to say though they really did rip off Broadchurch. You can see it everywhere. Not sure if Broadchurch ripped that style from something else first

Yeah, I got strong Broadchurch vibes from this too. Never did watch S3 though.

LTTP. Great show IMO, very watchable.

I'm not sure I get Jenny's timeline correctly though.
Rachel told her about "people dying" on her deathbed.
Jenny learns about an incident from her dead mother's diary.
Goes to Helen, who is also cryptic, but steals an old VHS with evidence.
Watches Evidence with Chris because of lack of VHS player on her house.
Agree to go to talk with Bobby about it, after the party.
Chris gets drunk in the party, Jenny is fed up.
Jenny finds out Tom is spying her messages and gets angrier.
Calls Pete to take her home.

Now the part I have doubts:
Instead of going home, she sneaks into Chris's home and takes his motorbike.
Rides the motorcycle out of the community (why didn't this show on camera?) and goes to the Heaven bar.
Asks for the owner but he isn't there.
Doesn't want to go home, so spends the night at the train station, leaves the motorbike there.
Returns home without motorbike (how?)
Goes to Helen's and stays there a couple of days, still mad at dad; she learns Chris is dead.
Helen calls Bobby telling Jenny knows everything, and that she will confess.
Bobby goes to Helen's, kills her, and burns the house.
Takes Jenny and asks for the videotape, which is presumably in Chris's house.
Both go to Chris's house, make a mess of Neil's office and get the tape.
Bobby disposes of Jenny´s phone there.
Bobby takes Jenny to his house, wants to clean the mess.
