So with my current 970 can I expect at least triple the performance with 1180ti?

Can't wait for the TI version but I guess I could always sell whatever I buy and upgrade again next year.

What monitor is the one you have? 1080p 144hz g-sync. I really want one of those. I've tried a 1440p 144hz g-sync but the size of it always made me nauseous. It was 27inch 5 minutes after opening the monitor id always get sick so i had to return it. Not sure if it was the size or just g-sync that made me sick

https://www.pccasegear.com/products/28307/aoc-g2460pg-24in-144hz-g-sync-gaming-monitor

(that's Aussie prices)

It's ok, had it for years and currently it's not being used because I don't have a desk so I'm on my TV with the desktop. Works very well but the colours are a bit meh because it's a TN display.

Here we go. Bye 1070, and thanks for your service.
Same here, I aiming for whatever ends up being the equivalent or better than a 1080ti since I got a new Sony X900e and want to put the 4k to the test.

Dude what? Why would ya move on from a 1070? Unless it's like 4x the performance I would stick with it. It's An amazing card

Not the person you quoted but I've been wanting to get into 4k gaming and my 1070 won't cut it.

I'm willing to spend the cash to get the 4k performance I need at 60fps with medium settings or higher.

If the 1180 will really be 15 TF as rumored, we can expect the 1170 to be around 11, which is pretty much 1080ti level, and the 1160 to be around 1070ti level.

It will really depend on the price but I'd say affordable 4k gaming is finally here. I did right last year to settle for 1080p gaming while waiting for the new cards. Not regretting getting a gtx 1060 at all. Great card, even though I wanted to go for AMD.

...1180ti could be around 20 tflops which is pretty crazy.

I have an Acer X34 Gsync monitor running at 3440x1440. At that resolution SLI is almost necessary with certain high end games.

I have two GTX 1080s, but SLI support quite frankly sucks with the newer titles. I actually have about six games I've given up on, and am now just waiting the release of the 2080 so I can play them.

I also can't wait to run a maxed out Quantum Break at 60 FPS or above - best looking game I've ever played. Love that game.

Do we know yet if the whole series will launch around the same time? Or just higher end cards? An 1160 could be potentially a great budget card depending on the price, I was thinking of saving up for it so I have a small chance of getting one when it launches. My R9 380X is still holding on for the kind of games I play, but it would be great to get 1070 performance for around $300 or hopefully less. Especially since I'm considering a VR headset.

I just need something that can push the most demanding games at 4k 60+, ideally higher FPS from a single card.

Where did you read that it would be 15 tf?

The TPU listing, which the other two articles reference, cannot be taken as accurate. Computerbase ran an article about how everyone is just casually jumping on what is essentially speculation, but that's in German.

I really really want to upgrade to AMD to finally use the Freesync feature of my monitor, but fucking hell Nvidia even with all the fuckery still keeps attracting me.

Man, can this new GPU's come out already? I really want to retire my 970 :/ that speculated 1180 looks very tempting though

Dunno my sons PC that houses a 980 ti doesn't run Gears 4 and other games as well as the X.

Also i doubt a 1170 is beating a 1080 ti.

First of all, I have Gears 4 and I'm able to run the campaign at high settings/4k/locked 30 fps (with multiplayer running at over 60 fps) with a 7700k/1070 setup.

Second, you saying the 1170 won't beat a 1080ti sounds eerily similar to the old claims that the 1070 wouldn't compare to a 980ti, which it absolutely does.

I hope the 1160(laptop version) is good. If there's 1070 ti level power in it that would be great!

That setup will not give you over 60fps with 4K in multiplayer.

I'm saying a 1170 won't beat a 1080ti...especially the custom versions.

Starting to think this isn't happening

The wccf article read more like speculation than actual leak

Ti won't be at launch prob Christmas time if not Q1 2019. They always stagger it since making Ti models

Yeah just checked now, most likely 2019. Oh well not a biggie since I need a new monitor also, still on 1080p@60 and the current market for monitors is unsatisfying. Might as well wait till the end of the year for the X35/PG35VQ 200hz monitors.

I hope you're right. But the jump -shrink- from Maxwell to Pascal was quite big, from 28 nm to 16-14 nm. This time around it will be a much smaller shrink, maybe 12 nm? And the 1080Ti is freakin monster. But who knows, maybe they have some new-crazy arquitecture and the 1170 runs on par with the 1080Ti. That would be truly amazing. Most tech sites are re`porting that the leaked 1180 info is on par with the 1080Ti. We'll see. Hopefully May 30th.

There is no die shrink. Late this year/early next year we'll start seeing 7nm products appear, but these rumored cards are still on 16nm.

The 970/980 series, for reference, had major gains even though it was still on the same die as the previous card. Sometimes major gains just come elsewhere. Sometimes not.

Guru3D - NVIDIA GTC / Computex Taiwan 2018 Tease an Ultimate Gaming Experience

Nvidia posted a bit of a teaser about the GTC (conference). CEO Jensen Huang will again, in Taiwan on May 30, hold a press-conference slash keynote speech. The new conference is listed on few NVIDIA websites, but only written in a Taiwanese version

That image reads in Chinese and can be interpreted in many many ways. You'd think it could be GeForce 11 related, really though we doubt it very much, as it's likely covering anything AI and perhaps big screen gaming. Here's that teaser:

it's AMDs fault. If they didnt fuck up VEGA, Nvidia would had released this long ago now.

And even worse, IMO, is the fact that instead of a new process being the new mainstream hotness, I can totally see the 7nm card being the 1180ti and us plebs having to wait another year to get a mainstream 7nm card from Nvidia. If all AMD is giving us with Gen 1 7nm is 1080 performance, Nvidia can milk this for all they want.

Sticking with the 1080ti until the new Ti version is available. Navi is nowhere to be found which is unfortunate.
