Yeah I like Madonna's music a lot. I'd take the queen of pop over the king, even

Really difficult to compete with the breadth of her library. People listing others, especially more recent outings simply didn't live through the 80s or don't understand how the music industry was and has changed.

Nobody beats 80s Madonna

Mariah Carey had 14 number 1 singles in the 90s. FOURTEEN. That's more in a single decade than Madonna's entire career. That's more than Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Britney Spears have had in their careers combined. And that's before we even get into Mariah's 2000's number 1 singles.

I don't give a shit about who had more hits that charted.

No one can fuck with 80's Madonna!

Yeah but how many of those can you name off the top of your head, or are still played on the radio? Madonna's 80s hits are played constantly and are all classics.

She also won a Golden Globe for Evita. How many did Mariah win for Glitter?

Id say Cindy Lauper was the better singer and had some really powerful songs in the 80s. Cindys voice is 1 of a fucking kind. Even her small part in "We are the World" to me is the best part of the song.

Don't get me wrong I love Maddonas stuff and no one can come close to what she has accomplished over the past 30 years. There are better singers, and performers but no one with the volume of quality work she has done.

She is my favorite female singer for sure. Her voice, the catchy melodies and how she seemed bigger than life (probably because I was young).

Her real singing voice is pretty awful. She actually can't sing - she did get better once she did Evita because they forced her to take proper singing lessons.
