Bogus Mod Edit: It's still not a done deal:

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment...eeves-says-bill-isnt-done-deal-181652138.html

Bill & Ted adventure. But when Yahoo Entertainment caught up with Reeves recently to discuss his new thriller, Siberia, the actor had some developments to share about long-awaited Bill & Ted 3 actually happening. "I don't know if it's a reality," Reeves cautions. "We've been trying for a long time to get that film made, and it still has its challenges."

The John Wick star is quick to add that none of those challenges are creative, though. "I really love the characters, and I think we have a good story to tell. Part of it is show business stuff — financing, rights, deals. Nothing creatively." Asked how he plans to approach the task of playing an older — and maybe wiser? — Ted "Theodore" Logan, Reeves says he's still figuring that part out. "It'll be interesting to see what that's like," he said. "There'd be a lot about him that would be the same, I'm sure; his kind of optimistic naïveté in the face of the darkness will still be there. He has a child now, so I'm sure he's matured."

'Bill & Ted Face the Music' is actually happening, some 29 years after the duo's first excellent adventure.
It's official: Wyld Stallyns are reforming.

Following 1989's Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and 1991's Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, The Hollywood Reporter can reveal that a much-discussed third Bill & Ted installment – Bill & Ted Face the Music – is now firmly in the works some 27 years later. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are set to reprise their iconic roles as time-traveling metalheads "Ted" Theodore Logan and "Bill" S. Preston Esq.

Original creators Chris Matheson (Imagine That) and Ed Solomon (Men in Black, Mosaic, Now You See Me) have penned the script, with Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Red 2, Fun With Dick and Jane) confirmed to direct. Scott Kroopf (Limitless) will produce together with Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce of Hammerstone Studios, with Steven Soderbergh serving as an executive producer alongside Scott Fischer, John Ryan Jr. and John Santilli.

MGM owns the rights to the film and will release it in the U.S. under its Orion Pictures banner. Bloom is handling international sales, which commenced in Cannes where the project is likely to be one of the buzziest films in the market, Endeavor Content negotiated the deal.

Currently in preproduction, Bill & Ted Face the Music will see the duo long past their days as time-traveling teenagers and now weighed down by middle age and the responsibilities of family. They've written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever written. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns our heroes that only their song can save life as we know it. Out of luck and fresh out of inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on a time travel adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it. Together with the aid of their daughters, a new crop of historical figures, and some sympathetic music legends, they find much, much more than just a song.

I have the distinct feeling that this is probably more money laundering ala Dumb and Dumber 3.

Hope I'm wrong and this is actually a passion project.

Bill and Ted in the modern era, as 40 somethings that didn't fulfill their promised destiny, is such a damn good idea. Finally getting this made is amazing.

Here's an interview with screenwriter Ed Solomon:

http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/ne...title-plot-keanu-reeves-face-the-music-movie/

The movie will pay tribute to George Carlin, of course.

Solomon confirmed, however, that the new film will not only address the loss of Carlin, but serve as a tribute to the beloved comic and his character.

"George Carlin is so deeply missed by all of us. There is a... not just an homage to him, it's more than that. His absence is a part of the whole movie."

The threequel will see the older Bill and Ted travel back in time, Solomon revealed, to interact with both their past selves and Rufus – using footage from 1989's Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Strange things will once more be afoot at the Circle K...

"There's actually a scene – one of my favourite scenes in the whole movie – where middle-aged, 50-year-old Bill and Ted return to the Circle K and see their teen selves and Rufus, and actually interact with their teenage selves, played by their actual teenage selves.

"They return to that scene at the Circle K when Bill and Ted first meet themselves, only now they're watching their younger selves and looking at the exuberance and joy that they had at that time in their lives. And they see Rufus, they see George Carlin...

I just need to know who the mystery person from the future is. I dearly miss Carlin as a comedic voice, so that will be a tough role to fill for me. I'm excited none the less, and eager to see what this turns out like.

What ia fucking crazy about all this?

Valero is changing all their locations to special ks, meaning that, later this year, for the first time since bill and ted's bogus journey came out, houston will have special ks again.

Strange things are afoot at the special k.

With the folks involved it sounds really interesting. Especially with the director of Galaxy Quest helming. That's a great combo.

They've been wanting to do this forever, and the actual details in the article make it pretty clear that everyone is lined up and ready to do it.

I'm excited.

Don't they use the "f" word a lot? ...and I don't mean 'fuck'.

It's not the focus of the movie or anything, but there's a joke where they (as I remember) give each other a big relieved embrace after a big harrowing close call of some kind and then immediately call each other that in unison.

Not saying they themselves don't, I know Winter was floating this script for the better part of a decade, I'm just saying when I see that they had to secure financing from additional parties leave me cautiously skeptic. The original two were definitely a product of their time.

That's a great title and honestly a pretty good idea for a plot line for a third Bill and Ted. I might watch this.

God damn shame Louis CK torpedoed his career for a while

He would have been a most excellent choice to replace George Carlins character. Plus I could imagine his frustrated rant-like reactions to their stupidity lol
