Holy fuck it happened again lol.

Dude in the center of the circle with a tower and explosives. Other guy outside the circle way off tries sniping me as I attempt to approach.

People are fucking dumb man.

If you are playing Solos, don't expect people to wait for you to see what's going to happen. If you are rushing somebody and there is 3-4 people left, be sure that more than 1 person is going to try to shoot you down and get the kill.

Doesn't mean they aren't stupid for doing so. Think about the situation. There's three of us with one guy having circle, a structure and explosives. The guy outside the circle takes two shots with a sniper at me and doesn't kill me. What information did he just give away to the person that already has the advantage? He now knows both our locations and that the person farther away has a sniper rifle. Combine that with the advantage he already had previously and it makes zero sense to even take the shot, especially with a sniper rifle against a moving target.

I know it's been brought up before but god damn do the shotguns in this game annoy me. It's not even just that they're so broken, it's that they stifle half the weapons in the game from being used. Hand cannon, tactical SMG, silenced pistol, minigun and LMG would all have a lot of potential if shotguns weren't so dominant. It's just kind of shitty when people would rather carry a pump and tactical combo rather than any of the other weapons I listed.

I use LMGs and Miniguns as fort killers in duos or squads. Just rip through their shit while your buddy gets them with a sniper rifle after their fort is in shambles. Pistols are underrated. You can smoke someone with those if you get the drop on someone. Rate of fire is pretty crazy on those. I really dislike the recoil on the hand cannons though. SMGs are alright, but I would rather have a shotgun then one of those.

I have just under an 8% win ratio in season 4. Massive upgrade on season 3 so far. Something has definitely clicked. I've finished 2nd so many times as well.

By my count I've played 30 solo matches so far. I've made the Top 25 15 times and the Top 10 14 times. Pretty sure I've made the Top 5 every time I made the Top 10. So I'm basically making the Top 5 50% of the time. Still only one win though.

I get plenty of kills with both and I am getting better and better at winning bunny hopping contests against asshole shotgunners using an SMG.

If I play to win, I can win reliably. Avoiding fights, waiting until the last 2 people start fighting and join in last minute. And sadly, this season encourages that because you get the most exp by winning games. And I want season level 80...

About 1200 games played and just now when I got shot at, my first reaction was to build! I didnt look around going "huh, where are they"? I just built and saw the hit detection thing as I was building.

And then he ran right up and shot gunned me despite me spraying him a few times with my AR.

But still, I feel there is hope for me.

Finally looked up some online videos for solo tips. There were two games that I got 5+ kills and Top 5 whereas before 3 was my max. Being aggressive and calm when seeing someone has done wonders. I still can't resist the panic in the Top 10 though and it's why I keep losing at the end. Still, it's reinvigorated my drive in the game. I hope they bring back 20s soon, though. That's been the most fun I've had.

Ninja was duoing with lil yachty and in their last match he had to 1v2 against a squad with high ground and got melted multiple times down to sub 30 HP and somehow still clutched it out.

That shit is insane how he manage to make the correct play almost every time and escape death on a sliver to win. Not only was the building on point but his shotgun, scar, and grenade launcher use all in the final fight did work. He managed to get hits and kills with shotie and scar. Pop a guy with nades for 80 and even correct time at popping minis.

Sometimes I feel like hes overrated but that fight just shut me the fuck up. Absolutley masterful play.

Ah man, keep choking in the final two. I consistently get to the final two, or three, but because I lost a few that I should have won, I keep making stupid decisions and rushing when I shouldn't, or playing too defensive when I should rush.

Off the top of my head I think that was my 7th 2nd place finish in a row ;_;

Eh? Yeah, shotgun is usually the name of the game in close combat, but otherwise most weapons have their uses. Light machine guns and SMGs for structure destruction (can also be great with attacking when someone isn't right up your nose with a shotgun but not all that far away either), assault rifles for mid range attacks and structure destruction from a bit further away, hand cannon for massive mid to short range fights and if you've got the skill, sniper rifles to punish people who don't cover up their backs or who drop their guard when opening treasure chests. Lesser pistols actually aren't all that horrible either. Grey ones are pretty shit but with a blue one you can actually do a fair bit of damage pretty quickly.

Like, I totally slayed in one game with just a hand cannon (5 kills) and LMG (2 kills and much useful structure destruction). Shotguns really aren't all powerful either. They suck at destroying structures and if you start using them from way too far away, they'll do, like, 7-20 damage while you can do 100+ easily with a single hit of a hand cannon.

So who are considered the best players?

I watch ninja a bit as I'm a halo guy, and I see a lot of King Richard as he streams late which is good for Australian audiences.

These guys have to be up there

I think I have to just let this game go by me. I played about 10 matches, and I don't really see myself being able to devote my time and energy to get better. At least with DotA starting out, you always get matched with people around your level. Here, it's just a free-for-all and I'll definitely never get to a competitive skill level. I'll make it to top 20-30 just by never seeing anyone, but as soon as I do, I'm toast.

On a side note, does anyone even play the PvE mode? Isn't that how Fortnite started in the first place?

A random question for people who've got good at this game, do you find it hard to go back to other MP shooters without building (E. G. 6 siege or pubg or cod/bf?)

Have your instincts changed so you end up trying to build in non building games?

Or can you just flip between game types?

Ran into some real buzzsaws tonight in squads late in the matches. I dread the summer when kids in school and college can sit around all day getting better and better.

In regards to the downed players convo from the previous page, I actually like to shoot a downed player a few times to get their health down to around 40 and then leave them there. It puts a lot more pressure on their teammates as they suddenly have a lot less time to deal with the situation (whereas if you just kill them the situation is over), and even better if the squad is using microphones as most likely the downed guy is crying out for help and adding even more pressure, giving me time to reposition myself or pop off a quick heal.

I've actually almost been caught out by this before, but normally within 2-3 matches I'm good to go with a different game in regards to mechanics and sensitivity.

The Carbide challenge is for 65, is there something else you get for 80?

I've had zero issues switching play styles going from Siege and Overwatch to this. It's pretty easy for me.

I've been missing 50v50 since it left, it's been so lonely but with this new mode and everyone going after that gauntlet I just can't see this not being fun.

I'd be shocked if we didn't get a Marvel like new skin along with it though.

The "Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup" mode for Battle Royale will feel just like a standard slugfest — with one major difference: One hundred players will descend upon the map and fight until one player is left standing, as usual, but this time you'll do so with the Infinity Gauntlet in play.

The artifact containing all six Infinity Stones — the same one Thanos used to cripple Earth's Mightiest Heroes on the big screen — will appear on the map. Whomsoever finds and equips it will transform into Thanos himself, wielding all the power that comes with him.
