I'd be fine with an adjustation towards 10$ considering we pay 10 Euros which is more than that, lol. Guess US price could slightly change, too?
Tax I'm guessing is the difference. Us tax isn't included so it actually costs them more than $10 outside of a select few states

For example in the UK we have paid $11 since the start and our price hasn't gone up

At least your VIP Star Rank is carrying over into a pretty okayish discount and reimbursement (it's in the FAQ), so you will get more points in MS Rewards than just 1 point = 1 EUR (which WAS ridiculous). I would really like to spend my VIP Gems on other things as the conversion rate really sucks, but everything is out of stock.

Just until the end of 2018 tho.
After that all Vip Star Rank benefits are gone.

Poland, and Sweden, . No news for the UK and other countries so far, but it seems like all subscription prices below 10 Euros will be affected
Germany here. Got the same message. I paid 20.97 Euros every three months, in June that price will increase to 29.99 Euros.

I unsubscribed immediately after reading that.

Just until the end of 2018 tho.

I don't get it. It's like they don't want to compete.

Don't get me started on Xbox Live sales which are hilariously bad compared to the competition.

Not going to lie, this has me a bit concerned. Game Pass right now is a good deal, but more than that I would have to reconsider.

Looks like they're trying to bring everything to around $10 USD, like other people have mentioned.

I wouldn't be too worried and don't expect the price to go up until next year with some new tier setup for Game Pass that allows them to charge $15 or $20 a month for more content

This hasn't been the case for a while. Xbox Live sales, at least in the US, have been comparable or better than PSN sales. Obviously Steam is out of the question since that marketplace is so much different than consoles which still have to balance around digital/physical.

This game pass is making me want to upgrade to a 1X, does that bring an improvement for titles across the board? Like 360 games get boosted to 60fps etc?

I mainly play on PS4 Pro but dont have 4k, it would literally be to play the Game Pass stuff and if MS ever bring out some good exclusives.

Europe here.

It's different for us.

The PSN sales are much bigger and the savings are much higher compared to Xbox Live. Often prices are up to 2.5 times higher compared to PSN. That's for all major publishers and indie games. It also doesn't matter if it is a sale price or a preorder price. Example: Owlboy is 21.99 on PSN, 24.99 on Xbox Live. Pre order price: 17.99 compared to 19.99.

That's just one example.

I prefer playing games on my X but I also own a PS4. These price differences are really frustrating.

Got the game pass because I'm heavily invested in the Xbox brand. On PC with the new Win10 April update I like the new Game Bar. I wish MS would release a "big picture mode" for the Xbox app and utilize a similar pop up like the new Game Bar for the achievements you unlock.

It's serviceable for now. Can't wait for MS E3.

Given how much GamePass has changed my buying and playing habits already, personally I'd be OK with raising the price, as long as the quantity and quality of the games on the service holds up.

Ideally what I'd prefer is for Microsoft and EA to work out a deal where I can just give them a single subscription for Live, Game Pass and EA Access. Infact if EA introduced a higher price tier that gave me access to the sports games and Battlefield day one - ala MS first part on Game Pass - I'd subscribe to that too. You'd probably be looking at closer to £25 a month at that point, but other than rare exceptions (such as Red Dead this year) I'd genuinely have no need to buy individual games anymore.

Basically I'm fully on board with this whole thing, and if anything I'm actively looking to pay more monthly if the services are right for me.

This is the same boat I'm in, game pass, GWG and EA Access make me try out games that I wouldn't look at otherwise and I end up liking quite a lot of stuff that I would have never bought on their own.

Europe here too. I tend to buy stuff in the US in $. Because of exchange rate and lower prices I normally can get a Deluxe version of a game for the normal price (digital) in Germany.

Got a message yesterday from Xbox Live saying in French something like this :

Looks like you're having trouble with Game Pass. We'd like you to forgive us. We offer you 30 days of Game Pass! All you have to do is use this code : XXX...

I used the code and got one month free :D

I don't know what Game Pass trouble they are talking about, maybe the one day problem affecting Sea of Thieves when it got it first update ?

Picked up 4 months of game pass with the microsoft rewards promo + the $1 month deal. I'm on Windows 10 and have an X1S, any recommendations? Going to try out some BC stuff like Ninja Gaiden.

I really enjoyed the Halo Wars 2 campaign. Some people around here suggested Mad Max but I haven't played that yet. You may as well try out Sea of Thieves. There is a lot of fun to be had in that game if you can devote a couple of hours to a single play session, once every week or so.

Did they get rid of the gamepass quests or whatever they had each month? I haven't seen anything in the menu this month (just rejoined, first time on it since january). Last time I did it I got a free month of gold so that was pretty cool.

I am not sure what you are talking about here.

XBL sales are awesome for both games and DLC.

Is it different in Germany?
Sort of, games rarely get discounted from the 70€ they launch at, so while the gold deals are the same reductions everywhere, 50 % off of $40 is much better than 50 % off of 70 €.

This is pretty much where I am. I know the more subs MS get for the the better the content we get in return, much like Netflix which is now at a point where they provide amazing shows.

I can see the same happening with Game Pass.

No, this month it's just download 3 new Game Pass games. The quest still shows up on that Game Pass landing page in the store.

Sometimes I wish Game Pass would notify me like 14 days prior to a game exiting the catalogue with something like: "Play it now while you still can or purchase it with 10% discount". I'm not really saying this for marketing strategies or anything, but it could sometimes help me decide what to play next. Going through the list and check each game individually is not really that great, too.

This game pass is making me want to upgrade to a 1X, does that bring an improvement for titles across the board? Like 360 games get boosted to 60fps etc?

360 and original Xbox games usually achieve a locked target framerate on the 1X. So if the game ran at 40-60fps on the console it originated on then it will most likely be 60fps locked on 1x. Sub 30fps games get locked at 30fps. All games get vsync so there is no tearing.

Then there is the 360 games specifically enhanced for the 1X. They get the above plus 16x anisotropic filtering, and 4k rendering resolution plus HDR and shorter loading times. All the OG Xbox games that are BC get 16x anisotropic filtering, near 4k resolution and shorter loading times.

If you have a 1080p tv you get virtually no jaggies in the enhanced titles as they are supersampled (rendered in 4k then downsampled to 1080p).

Cant believe how much I'm appreciating supersampling on a 1080p screen. I play Sea of Thieves on Xbox One X and on my PC (both through the same TV). Playing at 60fps on Windows is awesome but I notice a ton if alliasing and jaggies when rendering at native 1080p. The Xbox version, on the other hand, looks so sharp and jaggy free. I didn't think I'd notice it so much.

Ok thanks. If the title isnt enhanced is there any system wide improvements (like PS4 boost mode?)

You mean for Xbox One titles on the 1X?

Yes, better loading times and stabler framerates if they aren't locked already. Games with dynamic resolution run closer to or locked at their target resolution when played on 1X.

There is no "boost mode" on the X since the X always enhances everything by default.
  • All games get faster load times
  • All games get faster performance up to a point
  • All 360 games get vsync, smoother frame rates (up to whatever their frame rate cap is), and better texture filtering
  • All Original Xbox games get an automatic resolution bump to 4k

In addition to all that, many games are enhanced:
  • Enhanced Xbox One games get even further improvements that developers add, whether it be increased resolution, higher frame rate, more details, or whatever they choose to implement
  • Enhanced 360 games get rendered at 4K resolution (not just upscaled), and even further improved texture filtering and frame rates where possible without changing any of the game code

Played about 6 hours of Recore over the past few weeks... not half-bad, but not exactly good, either? It's a great podcast game, that's for sure. I sort of got into the combat a bit, mixing things up with the different bots and colors, but it became tedious very quickly and the gating that happens between all of the different sections is very annoying. I beat the final "boss" but not the big dungeon at the end, think I'm going to call it at that.

Game Pass working as intended. Wondering what I should hit next.

Guys, I'm about to pull the trigger on PC for a month. How easy/hard is to cancel the subscription on PC?
Since I don't have an Xbox One (yet), I need to make sure, thanks.

I don't know why, but I'm getting the "Buy 1 month of Game Pass for $5.00" promo again, via the website. And it's usable multiple times...

I guess it varies across the globe, in Brazil it's much cheaper on xbone, and not even on sales once. The regular price is just way lower, not uncommon in the 2x or so range.

Tried a PES game for the first time in a while today. Absaloutely dreadful. At least I won't be wasting any money on the next installment. I don't think I've ever uninstalled a game so quick.
