gonna be sitting back like

when they show another 8 minute demo of days gone

My reasonable expectations of how it will go:

- Open with Ghosts of Tsushima gameplay trailer (Early 2019)
- Shawn Layden
- Dreams (story trailer and release of Dec 2018)
- DMC5 reveal (Early 2019)
- 3rd party mixed with VR
- Spyro trailer
- Shadows Die Twice reveal (2019)
- MediEvil reveal (December 2018)
- Shenmue Collection (Late 2018)
- Close with The Last of Us Part II gameplay (this was promised by Neil himself, but I don't think we'll get a release date)

NOT there:

- Spiderman - Due to the blowout of info they just gave, but i won't be shocked if it's there either.
- Days Gone - i think will be held for either PSX later this year or Paris. It needs it's own showing not in the same conference as TLOU due to comparisons (fair or not).
- Death Stranding - will also be held for PSX.
- Blue Point - i feel like it is too early for them to reveal the next project (SoC just dropped in Feb). Maybe a reveal at PSX or next E3.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 - just released a new trailer and information + the historical E3 appearances
- Shenmue 3 - Save that for TGS. No release date yet on collection makes me think this needs more time and isn't ready to be shown. The last time they tried to show some early stuff, they were taken to task for facial animations. They'll wait til it's ready.
- Kingdom Hearts 3 - because Square.

Those are some pretty lame predictions. That would be a majorly disappointing show for Sony

Sony has the opportunity to show gameplay from Ghost of Tsushima, Death Strand, Part 2, MediEvil, Dreams and Days Gone.
It would probably be a show with that and some 3rd party stuff alone.

Hopefully we get at least a couple new 1st party games, I guess it would have to be developed outside since we know what most wws have been doing. Maybe Japan Studio could have something in-house idk.

If it's only DMC and gameplay from what we already know it's worst than last year for me. I'd like some surprises.

Spidey will definitely get a final push before release and I'd be disappointed if Death Stranding isn't there.

I would disagree. I think it's pretty balanced and inline with what will happen.

Sooooo...what are you expecting to happen that would not make it lame ?

philcosby.png

Ghosts
Spyro/MediEvil won't be getting their own slots, at most a montage trailer or show floor trailers
Spiderman will absolutely be there, might even open with it as well.
I dont think shenmue will be there
TLOU2 will have gameplay
KH3 will shjow up at the conference if they will be getting an exclusive partnership with square
Dreams
Days Gone
Shadows Die Twice
Rocksteady
Death Stranding
(MAYBE FFVII if square doesnt have their own event)

Devil May Cry V
Shadows Die Twice revealed as Berserk
Metal Gear Zero: Death Stranding - 2018
release date
Yeah no. These two are so not true. I don't know why you'd even post that considering all the stuff you're saying about DMC5...
Just to make it clear.

DMCV is absolutely, 100%, beyond a shadow of a doubt getting revealed at Sony's conference.
Can we get a timeline of recent events?

expect:
- TLOU Part II gameplay demo, 2019
- Death Stranding gameplay demo, 2019
- Ghost gameplay demo, 2019
- Dreams, BETA now, Aug 2018
- Spiderman red console
- 1 minute indie love
- MediEvil gameplay, Dec 2018
- 5-10 mins on VR
- gameplay for Kingdom Hearts III, November 2018
- Final Fantasy VII, Q4 2019
- gameplay/trailers for RDR2, Rocksteady IP, new Marvel IP, COD, Destiny DLC, maybe some Fortnite shit, some AAA Ubisoft title
- Devil May Cry gameplay reveal, 2019
- Bloodborne II/new Souls IP

hope:
- Final Fantasy XVI CGI teaser, 2020
- WiLd teaser, Q1 2019
- All Star reboot with God of War style fighting, summer 2019
- AAA Studio Japan IP
- Where is the indie love? I'm not seeing much investment in Sony compared to when Boyes was there.. it looks like Sony didn't give a fuck to replace him. Would like to play a game like Cuphead or Ori, but Sony apparently doesn't care after No Fraud Sky. Other than what WiLd, what is Sony working on in this end?
- Ueda new IP
- some other 3rd party surprise that comes out of nowhere, either some jRPG from Japan or something from the west. Something totally left field

other:
- Don't think we need another Spiderman trailer. Show off a console for it and call it a day.
- Days Gone has shown a full blown trailer and gameplay videos on two E3s. I think it's wise to skip this entirely and give a touching story trailer at PGW with a release date. Start building hype in Europe.

No confirmation yet on when their conference is?

Should be Monday June 11th, same as usual right?

I know E3 is all about reveals for some, but as I have no idea how GoT and DS will play, gameplay reveals for those could still surprise me a lot. Those, an epic TLoU II gameplay demo and third-party reveals like DMC V, Shadows Die Twice and the new Rocksteady would easily surpass last year for me.

Anyone expecting rockstar to show up at any of the conferences shouldn't bother. They go when they feel like it

For new game reveals I would love to see a sequel to Bloodborne. That's by far my biggest hope for this e3.

Other than that, gameplay for Death Stranding and Ghosts of Tsushima (sp?) would be good. RE2 too.

This is assuming they stick with the pre-show format they did with both of their major conferences last year. I'd rather they didn't but hey ho.

Pre-show

Patapon 2 Remastered trailer + release date, early July
MediEvil first look trailer
New Yakuza Kiwami 2 trailer
Guacamelee 2 release date
LEGO The Incredibles launch trailer
VR games (nothing new, Vive ports like LA Noire: The VR Case Files, release date of Blood & Truth)
Dreams (the major focus of the pre-show: interviews, gameplay etc.)
Erica release date
Left Alive trailer
Concrete Genie release date
Shenmue 1+2 HD release date

E3 Showcase

Ghost of Tsushima gameplay, 2019
Spider-Man short trailer (highlights unknown villains, action set pieces)
Days Gone story trailer, early 2019
Japan Studio new IP (unless they're working with From Software on Shadows Die Twice)
Devil May Cry 5 trailer mixed with gameplay, January 2019
VR spotlight (including Manchester Studio's new game)
New Crash Bandicoot project from Vicarious Visions, 2019
Destiny 2's first major expansion trailer, usual September release date
Rocksteady's new game debut
Soulcalibur VI release date
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 trailer
Indies montage
Death Stranding gameplay
Kingdom Hearts III shows Frozen world, gives release date of November
Shadows Die Twice officially announced as Kuon spirital successor, early 2019
The Last of Us Part II gameplay, 2019

Could always feature Avengers, Tomb Raider, Dying Light, Cyberpunk or Borderlands, but I think Microsoft will scoop most, if not all, of those up for their conference.

Being crazy optimistic here:

  • Open the show with a Death Stranding trailer that goes straight into actual gameplay. Game looks incredible, looks like a cross between MGSV and some crazy David Lynch horror stuff.
  • Ghost of Tsushima gameplay footage. Shows Jin disrupting an enemy camp, destroys some supplies, fights a bunch of dudes and then Batmans his way out of there, smoke bomb-style.
  • First proper footage for Medievil. Game looks fantastic and is down for release in 2018 (I'm thinking maybe an "available now!" during PSX).
  • Dreams beta, launching today. Another gameplay trailer, more emphasis on the campaign and a release date for early October.
  • Spider-Man gameplay. Confirm a demo will be launching in the next few weeks.
  • Re-reveals WiLD. Game looks like some crazy sandbox adventure shit with destructible fauna and heavy BotW inspirations. Is many people's game of the show.
  • Helldivers 2. It's now a third/first person game but keeps the same ethos and style of the original. Levels are hand-crafted and no longer procedurally generated and it plays a bit like Left 4 Dead by way of Starship Troopers.
  • Confirms a new Wipeout game, but only with a CGI trailer and a vague 'Coming soon' at this point. It's being developed by EPOS, Clever Beans and Lucid Games.
  • Shows some new footage of Days Gone with a final release date in March 2019. Lots of emergent gameplay, destructible environments, very impressive AI.
  • Now the next remaster from Bluepoint. It's Demon's Souls. Coming in January 2019.
  • New game from Japan Studio. It's a JRPG. Looks like a cross between Monster Hunter and Mass Effect; grand planetary skyboxes, mountainous vistas and massive monsters.
  • And finally, they end on The Last of Us Part 2. Shows some story stuff and then a gameplay demo. Ellie is the main protagonist and Joel looks older, angrier and more violent than ever.

  • Oh, and as an encore they reveal Bloodborne II. The trailer shows some dark dank city scenery to dramatic choir music and then a few short seconds of gameplay showing various beasties and the player getting offed in various nasty ways. No reveal date or anything, but the visuals look astonishing and people speculate it could be for the PS5 launch.

I wish MediEvil will be something with enough effort to make in the proper conference. Don't think it will though, I'm not a fan of the pre-show.
