Will this be enforced like holding (catch the major stuff) or like downfield linemen on RPOs (i.e. the wild west)?

Cracking down on the crop top will be devastating to our FSU contingent.

They banned the crop top at the end of 2015! I think the big change now is knee pads and exposed back plates.

What about those big neck protectors from the eighties? Or the fanny pack hand warmer?

I demand the return of the one bar kicker helmet!

Right, but banning doesn't equal cracking down on it. If they actually do that, it will be a sad day for our FSU fans and, apparently, our beloved Buckeye contingent as well.

Joe burrow, guys competing for starting an, announced he's transferring today. Means Haskins must have won the job, going to be weird to have a non mobile qb in urban era this season, but dude can make all the throws

Hey, why didn't anyone let me know that Alabama Arizona State QB Blake Bortlesnett transferred again?

Blake Barnett going to South Florida. Can play this year.

Geez, Blake. Maybe it's you.

That dude just can't take the hint. He would've have been just as good staying at Alabama at this point last year.

I get he wants to play but to me, this kind of stuff shows me something about the type of competitor he is.

On the new PAPN, Godfrey said what he's been working on, which is a TV series or something regarding bag men in CFB and specifically how it relates to the Mississippi schools.

Sounds like he may also have a book coming out. PR stuff should be coming out pretty soon regarding this it sounds like.

Yawn...

Not going to get worked up over schedules that were made years ago. The SEC has told its members to do better, and it looks like going forward it will get better. Bringing it up over and over doesn't change it.

No one is forcing other leagues to not do it. All the others just play all their garbage games earlier in the year.

Oh are we calling G5 teams midmajors? BC I thought a G5 team won the Natty last year.

The SEC/SoCon Challenge is a time-honored tradition, thank you very much.

(I have zero problem with teams playing FCS games because of the trickle down effect, but I do wish they were restricted to weeks 1 or 2. Ideally they would be a preseason game and wouldn't count for bowl eligibility, but that will never happen.)

I think Joe Burrow is going to go to LSU or Florida.

Its Meyers secret plan to take down the SEC from the inside.

Burrow will be good wherever he goes IMO, he's a very versatile QB.

Watching the goal posts shift on scheduling non-power 5 opponents is always fun.

Never understood why the timing should matter a lick either. Yeah, Alabama plays it's FCS game in November instead of week 1 because it's typically playing a pretty damn good team out the gate.

Boo-hoo.

I'm sure most P5 schools would love a practice week that late in the season too. It's not like Bama is the only school that's willing to play decent non-conference games especially considering the extra conference game others have to play. I know, SEC and all that.

Practice game early or late in the season; either way, it's a practice game, and everyone is playing one. Who cares when they play it?

Doesn't have anything to do with conference affiliation; the perception that it's more advantageous late in the season than earlier is stupid. I don't know why anyone cares when it's played.

Nice thing is that there isn't a "the" natty in CFB still. Because they haven't been able to figure out a competent system like every other sport on earth has been able to.

Yeah the fans are who lose with these week 12 fcs / mediocre mid major match ups.

But whatever it takes I guess. Every advantage you can get, you take it.

The advantage in playing a game against an FCS team in week 11 or 12 is that you are basically sliding in a bye week so late in the season when most other teams are playing meaningful games and in the midst of a grind. I don't have much of a problem with it as much as I don't approve of a team like Bama playing a team like The Citadel to begin with, no matter when it happens.
