Only played the first one, but I remember liking it enough to 100% it. Or maybe I just didn't have anything else to play at the time. Either way, it looks good, but September is a terrible time to release it what with Spiderman and Dragon Quest releasing then.

All this division over the remastered soundtrack in here... Meanwhile, as someone who played Spyro 3 in a PAL region, I'm just happy that the remake won't have Spyro 3's opening hub world music as the final boss theme again. That was some real shit.

People are so flippin whiny i swear. "his eyes are slightly different compared to the originals!" "I want the synthesized PS1 music!"

Why do devs even bother to bring back IP's people are begging for

The ps1 music was legendary. If they drop the ball on the soundtrack, people are completely right to be pissed.

Slight correction here: the PS1 used samples, not synthesis, to realize the musical brilliance of Stewart Copeland. I think that what we've heard thus far has been passable and I absolutely adore the art style, even if it could use more dramatic hue contrast, but the music is so good and Copeland is so talented that the original songs would have been perfect.

If you actually tried to read my posts instead of jumping at the first occasion to turn them into some sort of stupid accusation of anything, we would have a better discussion that wouldn't involve posts like these.
We would be having a better discussion if you had read my comment from the beginning properly instead of accusing me of bringing console warring.
So I'll try explaining a second time, I was not accusing you of anything. I was trying to explain why people were reacting like they were to the comments saying that people only like the games because of nostalgia by making an example the other way around. And based on how you interpreted my comments and how you reacted to them is a perfect example of how people don't like when others try to make assumptions on why they said something.

Has Ted Price, the Hastings Brothers, or anyone else from Insomniac given their thoughts on the collection?

I like the song in the trailer. It's catchy! We should be grateful that we're even getting a proper spyro game.

I doubt they know or care what a few whiney nerds say on a message board.

Pretty shocked that they got Tom Kenny back

I assumed they would get the (probably cheaper) first voice actor Carlos Alazraqui. Kenny was better and did some side characters that I liked

Was very pleased to see that the digital price is the same as the physical version.

But was disappoined to find out that UK pre-orders don't get the PS4 theme :( hope they add it soon.

Do you mean digitally? I actually asked this on Twitter and apparently in the U.K./Europe if you preorder digitally you will get the theme when the game releases, but unlike in America where preorders get instant access to the theme, in Europe we have to wait until the game releases (I think because unlike in America, we can cancel preorders without payment at any point). I've also read that physically it should be like the Crash preorders too - keyring and theme and avatars - but I've not seen that part confirmed yet.

Man I really like all the redesigns kinda crazy when you think about the other Crash and Spyro redesigns by the same company.

I don't expect them to give a shit, same happened with the crash trilogy where they had the chance to use the full uncompressed songs direct from the OST artist himself and he said they never contacted him once. So they just remixed the ps1 songs to sound slightly different :/

PS1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFWdx9D_JzQ

Pre-Console Mix: https://youtu.be/khC_TU6ogsY

N-sane: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMIANcz344U

Not even a comparison imo, the pre-console mix has so much more life in it that was taken out when it had to be fitted into the game and the remaster went with the downgrade instead.

Eeeeyup. It doesn't even seem like contacting the composer for the pre-console OST of the OG Crash trilogy would've been an issue, but they just... didn't bother. We've still only heard two songs from Spyro 1, and they do hold the overall mood and feel of the originals, but the quality just isn't there. We'll probably have to accept that the remastered versions' music won't be able to hold up to the originals'. Ah well. =/

Where was this? I didn't get any of this. :(

Where are you? I'm not sure which stores offered it outside of the UK, but in the U.K. at the shop Game preorders for Crash came with an AkuAku keyring, and code for the PS4 exclusive dynamic themes and avatar set (same as you got for digital preorders), I got them myself.
It hasn't been officially announced but rumour is that it's highly likely Spyro will get the same treatment as a physical preorder bonus. I'm holding off on preordering myself, and crossing my fingers it's true, until I hear for sure.

GameStop Germany have listed the same preorder bonuses as Crash got, so logic says the same will happen in the U.K. too;
https://mobile.twitter.com/MagicCraftersHQ/status/990408637146386432

U.K. digital preorders on the Playstation store will get the dynamic theme and avatar set on release day alongside the game itself. If you look on the PS store it says under Reignited trilogy;

Pre-order and receive:

- Spyro™ Dynamic theme
- Spyro™ Avatar

US digital preorders on Playstation store can apparently get access to the themes and avatars immediately upon preordering.

Also UK. I pre-order all of my games from ShopTo. Didn't get nothing, must've been GAME exclusive stuff. :( I've also pre-ordered Spyro on ShopTo but I don't think it mentions it, if I get themes and avatars though I might swap to GAME...

Ah I've never used ShopTo, are the prices really good? This (link) was showing what you got for preordering with GameStop in US but was exactly what I got with my Game UK preorder with Crash, so fingers crossed Spyro is similar! Costs £5 to preorder Spyro in a Game store and if you change your mind and cancel your preorder even after the game releases you don't lose your money, you can just put the £5 deposit onto a gift card, or buy a £5 PSN credit with it, or put it towards another game, you just can't get the cash back, if that makes sense. I'm going to put a £5 deposit on and see if preorder bonuses are announced. If no theme and avatars physically I may just get digitally instead because I really want them!!

I don't actually love that latest baddie design. But I don't think one or two underwhelming minion designs are anything to get worked up over, this remaster looks wonderful so far. Can't wait to start seeing pics from from the second and third games

The design itself isn't bad. But the face is a pretty big departure from the original. I miss the big round eyes and two iconic fangs. That said, it seems to be following a new aesthetic across all Gnorcs, so I'm sure I'll get used to it.

TfB can go to town with the Rynoc designs though. Never found them terribly memorable. Actually, I hope they take as many liberties as possible with most of the major designs. The aesthetics of Elora, Hunter, Ripto etc, aged terribly.

As long as they don't stray too far from my boy Buzz's original design, we good.

I am so stoked to see him in all of his HD glory.

^^ I don't think any of the Gnorc designs so far have been that great tbh. I'm not really a fan of their beady eyes and I think that contributes a lot to why they seem so 'off', as their original designs had big, expressive, cartoon eyes.

The only enemies that they've shown that look pretty great to me have been the shepherds and their sheep dogs.

Of course, I'll still play this though lol. But it is kind of a bummer for me, as the Gnorcs and their design/aesthetics in the original Spyro the Dragon is a major thing I like about the game.

I only played a little of the first game but I am pretty sure I am getting this. Looks like a lot of fun and my son will probably love it.

As a kid I actually thought these were cool :(

I quite liked a couple of the (non-crossover) Crash/Spyro games on GBA

Thank god the internet wasn't as prevalent back then,
Today people would riot and whole cities across the nation would need to be put into lockdown.

lol you may have a point.

On the other hand? this is inspired by 'back then' and it is genuinely great

I would happily hang that on my wall

Awful games. Hastily cobbled together rubbish to cash in on the Mario 64/3D platformer bandwagon of the time.

First thing i've seen that looks bad, everything else looks great so far but this re-design isn't as good.
The face is far worse and lacks the charm of the original.
Fingers crossed they don't do this often as all the rest is looking great.

I don't care for it much myself. But if this game comes out and the worst complaints we can find are that a few mobs look slightly off? It will be one of the best remasters that I have ever seen

Finally found a version of the stream without anyone talking over it

It oozes personality and the new version of Spyro looks fantastic in motion. I love the sound of his flame breath.

The egg thieves look better in reality than they did in the concept art.

I would be surprised if we don't get a similar demo to download soon. The fantastic ps1 demo was the entire first home world, but a couple of levels like the E3 demo would work fine
