Hopefully this discord doesn't fall into a disaster like the last one. It turned into nothing but junk coin shill, like audio, flash, etc.

There has been considerably self reflection and a big effort to prevent shit coin shilling in the future, and shilling in general.
Yeah, IOTA finally started unveiling a little about Q(ubic) and the markets reacting to that. Also headed for Huobi soon and a bunch of other exchanges, I guess, once IXI and the wallets are done / audited.
IOTA is really a coin i have always thought of one of the better ones but sold all a while ago with very good profits. I follow the subreddit tightly and all the progress (with futjitsu and others) jn the last months has been good. Planned to get a batch in my next fiat injection.

If there was fiat option, I'd be buying shares literally every day, but the having to wait is just a pain in the ass.
If NANO didn't break every other week I would agree, but for a fast and cheap coin it's wallet is under constant maintenance, and the fact a Binance service rep literally said "their blockchain does not work" when responding to complaints about NANO withdraws being offline is kinda a bad sign.

Just so there isn't any confusion, it's the same discord but with more moderation to prevent what transpired previously from happening in the future.
Also it includes a lot more TA for BTC and ETH in general.
All happened over the course of a few hours but anyone who bought in low and sold at the peak probably did well out of that. I'm just left holding this shitty bag though ;_; Was my first lesson in FOMO!
seems its going back up. if i sell my 6 litecoins right now, i'll get my capital back (of 1000 USD shekels), but i'll have lost the 300 profit i have made during the crash.

just don't put in more that what you are willing to lose. 1000 is a lot for me, but its something where i know i can make some without having to risk too much. i know a co worker dropped 5k on alt coins (can't remember the name) and now its less than half its cost basis. he's a wreck.

He's more talking about the state of the discord and it just being a shill fest for months.
Sounds like a number of Equihash based crypto dev teams are already getting forks ready in response.
This is just kind of a bummer for me because out of my primary mining targets (Equihash, Lyra2rev2, Neoscrypt), Equihash is the most consistently profitable.
Lyra isn't far behind, so I suppose I'll weather the storm while devs get things switched up. Still miffed about Zcash lead more or less hand-waving ASICs.

The Discord was full of shills because back in late 2017 you couldn't lose money on any coin, and a bunch of new people were joining crypto and buying shitcoins due to the shilling of respected posters here. New people thought they had found a diamond in the rough without realizing that the same profits could be had with literally anything else, and started amplifying the shitcoin shills.

Yeah, the Discord went a little crazy with the shillcoins, but that's been mostly reigned in. If we're being honest, a lot of us played a part in it.
I would say my general advice is: Coins on exchanges like Cryptopia & Kucoin can die. The volume on those exchanges isn't enough to keep something alive once the hype dies down. Coins on Binance from what I've seen, they have their peaks and valleys.

Same here. Filled with dreams of how great life would be when it hit a dollar lol. Still only worth 20% of what I paid for it. Just embracing the HODL now in the hope that BTC gets another bull run so I can cash out at less of a loss
Seems like BTC will hit 10k soon. Bitcoin will be back in the news this time for positive reasons this could spur a run. I love this rollercoaster. On the way up its a rush, when its down I dont stress I add!
If you're still in any of the low cap shit coins from December and January, I would consider consolidating into actual projects that will grow instead of hoping for a once in five year hyperbull that might resurrect your shit coins.

From what I hear, a lot of people are only working with small percentages of their initial investments in certain coins. I have one or two coins that are in this situation, the amount I bought was small and the value has dropped so much that there's nothing you can really do with it.
I don't think the news coverage will happen at 10k. It normally takes an all new ATH that's beyond the ATH that the media last went crazy over. Last time was roughly 20k, I don't think they will report like crazy on it just returning to 10k or even 20k. But 30 or 35/40? Yeah. Probably another media frenzy whenever we get there.
$20k would be big news imo. We would get a lot of the "BTC is back" articles. $30k would break the news websites.

Oh I see. Well, something messed up my Discord recently and I lost several channels, including that one.
I always put it a minor amount that I can afford to lose. Due to money saving for my eye surgery in autumn, I did not invest a cent into crypto since late November.

Yeah, i like to have at least one shitcoin as lottery gamble that could go to the moon (1 €) and i then have like 300.000 of them (being worth 500 € atm) beside my solid projects.
Unfortunately that is arguably not what happened and too many people got stuck holding massive bags.
People are popping their heads back up from the long sleep and asking why their portfolio of ADC, FLASH, XBY are all worthless. It's not fun having to give the same talk that these coins will probably never recover and holding because they are down 80% is just wishful thinking at best, because they might have a pump in the next hyperbull (which could never come again, or be years away, and zero guaranty these coins will actually pump outside of the rise of BTC SAT value).
Which is because most people who joined in December/January were newish investors who didn't know any better and were presented piles of shit and presented as if they were diamonds in the rough. I speak as someone who also fall into that trap, and I've been in crypto since last summer.
Thankfully the CryptoEra discord cleaned up it's act this last couple of months, we won't be repeating the mistakes of the past. It's especially telling from the reactions in the thread of what people thought of the discord in general back then.

Yep, I'm an ADC refugee as well. Bought that and some HTML coin with a bit of money I had left over. Both are garbage currently but they were my two "lottery" purchases so I'm all or nothing with them.
Food for thought, if you're holding for a market bull run, there is literally no point in holding in a shitcoin, because if your logic is the market will go on a run, then your money can be better used in projects that will grow during the market run.
Cryptoera has toned down quite a bit from the hyperbull days but for real, if any of you want to make me rich just buy Ven. I plan on dumping that fucking bag in some unsuspecting video game nerds that chat on a Discord I like to use.

That could be said about ... well, nearly every project. :) Most have a pretty limited future. Like, does anyone really think any of these currencies have a chance to be widely adopted? Doubtful. Doesn't mean you can't make a quick buck on them tho!
well, if i sell it now, i will gain my initial capital back of 1000 shekels, and then i still have some profit. if i'm going really stingy, i'll just play with the profit, or i'll just hold on to it now and wait for the maximum profits later in the month/s.
If you are not in a hurry to recoup the money, just hold for 1-2 years. That's really the best you can do with crypto.
