Agreed, there's too much unskippable stuff in PlayRoom, and surely it doesn't have much substance to keep you busy. It's good for introducing new people to VR, especially of the non-gaming crowd.

I just wish more developers would have adopted the multiplayer aspects and made full games of such style.

There's 2 demos. The Kitchen demo and the beginning hour. Kitchen demo is the seated one you're thinking of. Not sure if it's standalone, or on the first demo disk.

I got motion sick in re7, had to turn on the grid to alleviate it.

Make sure you get the 2 demo disks off the store.

Yeah, I got the wrong one. Will look for the kitchen one later.

Hey everyone
I just got my PSVR a couple of days ago (PS Pro). Right now I only have 1 move controller (a pair is coming from Ebay- this is a PS3 one that uses the wrong cable lol), and I'm basically just trying a bunch of stuff each time I sit down. Of the stuff I have played so far, my favorite things are Super Hypercube, Tumble, Wipeout Omega Collection, and Rez. I bought Superhot VR on the PSN sale this weekend as the first thing to try with my move sticks

I have a few general questions
1.) Is Farpoint fun if you don't have the Aim controller? I really have not liked the Doom VFR that came my headset...
2.) I remember some time ago there was a game where you played as a dolphin in a school taking a test, and the goal of the game was to cheat on the test. Did that ever come out?
3.) What are some other puzzle games? As Tumble and Hypercube are my favorite games, I figure I should try more

1.) Farpoint can be played with a DS4, you can actually move the gun in-game as the DS4 is tracked just like the aim controller (unlike Doom VFR which has the gun stuck to your sight). Immersion is way better with the aim controller, but if you never used it you probably won't know what you're missing.
2.) I remember the trailer but honestly don't know if it came out or what it's called.
3.) Statik and I Expect You to Die are great, as mentioned above. And take a look at Fantastic Contraption, a physics based puzzle game. It's missing the level creation which was in the PC version on PSVR though (IIRC).

OMG !
After simply watching some youtube videos yesterday and a quick arcade race in GT Sports while everything was DLing, I finally launched VR Worlds today. This is awesome !

One more vote for Statik, not just the VR implementation matters for the gameplay, but the puzzles are quite interesting (I think I played almost half of them).

Can anyone recommend Carnival Games and the dlc as a party game? Thinking about getting it because the Playroom games were quite funny but they lack depth to be played more than once.

Glad to hear Farpoint is good even without the Aim. Adding that and VR Worlds to my Best Buy cart tonight
I will download the Statik demo tonight!

Well, I tried Statik last night, and couldn't actually figure out what I was supposed to do after 10 minutes. Felt like it really could have used a brief explanation/tutuorial, as I was just pressing buttons, seeing things happen, but had no idea what my goal was

The puzzle is to figure out what the goal is. Make sure you look around the room for clues.

Each button does something on the box your hands are locked in. Now it's up to you to figure out how to solve the given puzzle.
In the demo you need to replicate the black & yellow image on the screen on the right side of the box.

Well i just finished a go for about an hour in Killing floor incursion with a friend doing the co-op campaign. Can't complain as we had a lot of fun, Great shooting, Decent visuals( Not Farpoint, But better than Arizona)

Nice it's got puzzles, The AI recognises that there is 2 of you playing which adds to the immersion, Can be abit stuttery walking freely, Can definitely tell it was made with teleport in mind, Which helps get out of certain situations. But seeing the physics up close of the enemies limbs while your partner interacts with them is great fun.

Really glad so far, After a not so good start to the year VR wise for me, Hoping Horus station drops soon.

Thanks for the impressions.
I read a bunch of post on Reddit, that its very laggy in coop, I think for the non host. No matter how good of a connection both of you have. Im wondering if that may be why you perceived stuttery walking. Hopefully that is something they can fix.

Just to add to what other people have said, each button does something, but you're looking for how combinations/sequences of button presses can change the device in front of you.

Well, PSVR version definitely took a huge step backwards, the one thing they adjusted prior to (PC) launch is removing the PSVR logo from their page that has been there for months. :(

Is Surgeon Simulator any good? It's dirt cheap right now.
Can't recommend it. I bought it day one when it came out for PSVR. I guess they wanted to try make it hard to control but in doing so made it seem like the tracking was off. Not sure why they made that decision but I guess they wanted to make the game more challenging. I dunno. They got a lot of complaints and made a patch, so I gave it another chance. When you first start the game you're sitting at a desk and my hands were lower than the desk and tracking seemed worse than before. How much is it?

You've already got a lot of my favorite games; others include Batman, Rush Of Blood, Statik, GNOG, and Skyrim (even though I'd already played ~130 hours in the flatscreen version - it's just such a huge game that I've put another hundred hours into the PSVR version, and most of that is material I've never seen before).

Wipeout, though, shot to the top of my list of VR games as soon as it was released. It's just that good and transformative.

That's a great list right there, should keep you occupied for some time! If you still want to buy more, I'd recommend Wipeout, it's an awsome game made even better in VR. Thumper is quite cool as well, if you're up for an intense rythm game.

Thx for the suggestion! definitely interested in Wipeout, Statik and Rush Of Blood also seems cool, as for Skyrim, i'm sure i won't be able to control myself from buying it a 3rd time as soon as i find it at a good price.

I see, that's too bad. It's about 5 dollars, less than a Big Mac where I'm at :)

http://www.3rdeyestudios.fi/blog/2018/5/3/horus-station-may-update

Now we can confidently say that Horus Station is on its final legs of development. Next week we will have visual content locked down, which means that even our talented artists will focus on testing the game instead of producing more visual assets. What is best we can soon announce the release date, price and other details.

and 2 new screenies to share.

To The Top, Pilot a superhuman robot in free-form PS VR platformer out 29th May

Using futuristic, superhuman abilities, you will conquer dozens of levels, filled with obstacles and challenges, explore the environment on your own, or compete against other players online for the fastest times.

PS VR shooter Arizona Sunshine's Dead Man prequel DLC launches in June

Dead Man DLC adds a prequel mission set in a completely new environment that plays out in the final days before the events of Arizona Sunshine. In this mission, which is for the most part set in a missile silo, you head a frantic attempt by US Army Special Forces to launch a nuclear-warhead loaded missile that is vital to stopping the spread of zombies in the American Southwest.

Just like the main campaign, Arizona Sunshine – Dead Man DLC features multiplayer functionality that lets you join forces with another player in co-op. It also allows you to (attempt to!) complete the mission on various difficulty levels including the much-dreaded Apocalyptic Mode! Give it your all by dual-wielding two PS Moves, using two-handed weapons with the PS VR aim controller or using a Dualshock 4.

Well, i'm finally on the PSVR Train now :)
GAME finally got some new move controllers in stock so i took the plunge and have PSVR Starter Kit, 2 Move Controllers, Resi 7, Rick & Morty & Thingy Worlds. I've also picked up Polybius in the PSN Sale and another PSVR Download that i can't remember the name of.

It'll be interesting to see how it goes and it'll be much easier to use in the living room with friends than to cram into my tiny bedroom where my Vive is.

Can't wait to try it out over the 3 day weekend! Huzzah for Bank Holidays :D

anyone used PSVR to watch a bluray/netflix etc for any extended period - like an entire movie or several episodes of a TV show? How is it vs eg watching on an ipad? Never tried it, and have half an eye on an oculus go..

Not good. Imagine a 1080p video, scaled down and displayed on two screens with lower vertical resolution and far lower horizontal resolution than the source (and not using anywhere near the whole screen, because it'd make the video unwatchably huge), then constantly varying the size and angle of the screen so the whole thing shimmers.

Oculus Go is probably better because the resolution per eye is greater than 1080p. Even so, if it's simulating a fixed movie screen it's going to be lower resolution and it's going to shimmer.

Edit: wait, no, Oc Go is only 1280 pixels per eye, horizontally. Might still be shite.

Its not the greatest but certain kinds of films work really well like Blade Runner, The Thing, Alien. Basically, anything that wasn't shot on modern cameras and has heavy atmosphere works well. I don't use it frequently but some films you can tell will work great. At launch it was pretty bad but it is now serviceable due to an update. Still needs more options such as being able to choose the distance.

I have also jumped on today having decided that PSVR was a low cost entry point given that I already have a PS4 Pro.

I'd always rolled my eyes when people went on about the experience being so revolutionary, but consider my mind blown! It's really is amazing.

Along with the VR worlds pack in it came with Skyrim VR but I also already have Resident Evil 7 and Wipeout Omega Collection already - are there any other games people could recommend?

As I got this as a taster for VR I'm probably going to go all in and get HTC Vive when it comes down in price a little.

Since the thread didn't get a lot of attention, most people probably missed it.

Firewall: Zero Hour
  • Publisher: SIEE
  • Developer: First Contact Entertainment (Adam Orth)
  • No release date, but planned for 2018

Eyes on target
Choose from 12 experienced mercenaries, familiarise yourself with upgradable weapons, and join a side. Will you lock and load with the attacking squadron, tasked to obtain valuable data in a hostile stronghold? Or will you be on the frontlines of the defending team, making sure the data is kept out of enemy hands by any means necessary?

Strategize. Communicate. Dominate.
Up to eight players can go face-to-face against each other in two teams of four, battling in exotic and dangerous locations across the globe.

ATTACK:
Your job is to locate the laptop containing the data, and hack it. Plan your approach wisely, bypass the Firewall access points and eliminate any hostiles that stand in your way.

DEFEND:
Protect the laptop data at all costs. Fortify your location and force your enemy into choke points that will prevent them from reaching their target.

Man, Half Brick is really sticking to their guns with never putting Fruit Ninja on sale, aren't they?

I know it just came out, but I'm really hoping ARK Park goes on sale sometime soon. Though it needs to be a deep price cut for me to bite.

Anyone got impressions of Dead Secret yet?
