Aww man, I wish I had waited with buying "Mercenary Kings"! I figured I'd just go ahead and preorder now since May 4 was supposed to be the break, but now that second mystery game on that date could very well be something I'd want. And I would have loved to pay shipping only once. :-/

But thanks for that early overview. Looks very interesting! Could you add how many titles of these might get a CE? For budget planning purposes.

I didn't think about grouping preorders with normal orders either.
By the way does someone know if i's possible to put a preorder "on hold" ?

Elliot Quest is super nice, but did they even release the first one yet? Didn't get anything from their mailing list.

Please tell me Hard Copy games isn't a euro seller and will thus make the game stupidly overpriced due to shipping and whatnot. Elliot Quest was one of my most wanted games from LRG for Switch/PS4 but I guess they were too slow to ask the dev for the rights. And with that HCG, I doubt they'll even consider a Switch release. D: Still, I'd prefer if Special Reserve or that Tokyo 42 company got ahold of the game instead, if LRG couldn't. I've never even heard of these guys before.

Also god damn it stop delaying Rabi Ribi for pete's sake. This is getting kinda ridiculous with that game.

It's the weirdest thing. Hard Copy is an Australian company, but their games will be ESRB rated and shipped from the US. Sure, okay.

Also, have a feeling Dragon Fantasy Book 1 will be announced soon. Muteki seems to be more active now than in the last year, and recently they hinted DF was still coming.

Got Super Hydorah in today (yay!), and looks like I'll be taking a break next week (also yay, thanks TCL).

Hoping for some solid JRPG choices in May, though beyond Dragon Fantasy I'm not too sure what'd even be available.

Speaking of JRPGs, I know this is on the list of "probably never gonna happen" games, but I'd love to see LRG partner with SE to release Romancing SaGa 2 physical on Switch. That would be an awesome score for both us and them. Also, Adventures of Mana Switch port and physical. Okay, I'm done.

--

For anyone who's interested, Hard Copy Games said their first release is currently waiting on ESRB submission (The Aquatic Adventures of the Last Human), so I wouldn't expect Elliot Quest before August.

Thinking about it... despite seeming a bit amateur, HCG has signed two titles that are easy buys for me because they're exactly the kind of game I want to see get a physical. If they can get their business/storefront side together I'm definitely interested in seeing what they announce next.

Pretty sure that LRG contacted Square Enix previously and Square didn't reply. Square is a mega publisher and they have their own online store. I would be surprised if they are willing to do a limited run. I also wish to get Romancing Saga on the Vita <3

If they had a limited physical release of the Mana remake, I'm sure a SaGa limited release for PS4/Switch will happen.

i don't really understand the SE limited physicals, they didn't do one for FFVII HD or FFIX HD but Secret of Mana got one

Pre-order scores on the doors:
Flinthook: 2516
Mercenary Kings: 2465.

...which indicates that literally zero people have pre-ordered Mercenary Kings since shortly after the second batch on Monday, which is a claim I'm kinda dubious about, but whatever.

Also, I'm fairly sure the Tribute Teasure Box isn't getting a third release this upcoming Friday.

Guess that's what happens when you go with late-releases of titles already out on other platforms. (though Flinthook is still good and you should buy if you don't already own it) Mercenary Kings I'd be more shocked for if the game was more of a hit. I really hope Saturday Morning RPG does well though, that's a gem, and the original release was one of LRG's rarest titles, plus it would get us a sequel to that game. Maybe printing around 10K CEs of SMRPG will help towards that

Don't kill the preorder system because of these two games underperforming though. You'll certainly need it for Night Trap, Slime-san and any true exclusives that launch in the next few months.

Worth noting that those numbers are off since they don't include the LE. Thimbleweed was around 9000 when it closed but LRG said total preorders were closer to 13K. Including the Treasure pack, you could technically say total preorders are closer to 11k (since Treasure counts as 2 games), which is pretty good as far as I'm concerned.

Also, let's not forget that a lot of people will jump in and order right before preorders close.

Well, Flinthook is a great game and was out of stock pretty quickly on PS4 and ended up being one of the most sought after games.
And Mercenary Kings is a first physical release.
So there's no real excuse IF they underperform. I'm capitalizing "IF" because I'm pretty sure a lot of people (me included) are waiting until the end of the two-weeks period to preorder, so the numbers don't mean much yet.

I do think figures for Thimbleweed were inflated by the fact it was the #1 Switch game though.

As for SMRPG I don't foresee it doing particularly astounding sales. The game is mostly famous for being one of the rarest LRG prints but I don't think the crowd waiting for it is that big. I may be wrong.

Including the Treasure pack, you could technically say total preorders are closer to 11k (since Treasure counts as 2 games), which is pretty good as far as I'm concerned.
That makes 5.5k for each game so far. Grouping them into a single "11k" is kinda misrepresenting it ;)

I will preorder when I can order it with other games because shipping is still expensive to Canada without the hold service. I like the pre-order idea as it isn't as frantic and rushed yet as a consumer still need to save money whenever possible.

Yeah, Thimbleweed benefitted from being part of two LRG releases, while the Tribute stuff is only going to be part of one regular release. Admittedly, if I hadn't been sold on the Treasure Box I would also be waiting on a regular release to combine the shipping costs.

I understand the logic of separating out the Switch pre-order launch dates, but in terms of maximising orders I think they would be better off sticking to Fridays.

I don't see your point. Preorder totals for that run are ~11k. It includes sales of both games individually, with each LE counting as one of each since that's basically what it is. I think it's fair to group them into one lump preorder, since they're ideally meant to be bought together.

They're just two different games. People will often have preordered both at the same time, so you can't group them into a single figure to compare it with Thimbleweed's 13k which represents more unique customers. OP will not write on a single line : "Flinthook + Mercenary Kings = 11k". It's all I'm saying. I'm not even judging the performance of Flinthook and Mercenary Kings themselves.

Another small KS update for the LRG physical edition of The Good Life:
We finished designing the hoodies! What do you think?
There are three different versions.
If you back one of the tiers that features a hoodie (from The Warmer Life and up), you'll be able to pick which version you'd like.
Check them out here!

Highly recommended not just for fans of The Good Life, but fans of cats and dogs in general!
We hope that this will allow all backers of hoodie tiers to find a design that they like. And if you like the designs but haven't backed a hoodie tier yet, feel free to make an upgrade!

Re-introducing the Physical Collector's Edition from Limited Run!
Here's a link to our update in which we detail the contents of the Physical Collector's Edition!
Physical Collector's Edition contents unveiled!
We hope this helps if you're still trying to decide on which tier to back!

@LimitedRunGames, will you do a preview for the physical edition of The Good Life on your storepage like you did for Oddworld recently? It sure couldn't hurt!

The KS has been picking up steam over the weekend (Switch, more media interest, etc.) and it might get funded after all.

I just wish there was a standard PS4 hard copy. Really don't care about this limited edition.... especially not at that price.

Yeah, I don't get it either. If the KS succeeds, there will probably be a standard edition at a later point for a reasonable price. But if we don't pledge, the KS will fail and there won't be any The Good Life at all (at least for a while). Seems a bit shitty.

They are already manufacturing PS4 discs and something in the $60 region with a nice manual would make so much sense (e.g. like Shenmue 3). One silver lining is the relatively good exchange rate of the Yen right now since the campaign is run from Japan, but it's still very expensive for the only physical option :/
