Yay Jones! I'd be curious to see how slimy Bran Manager handles Ultima Brad. Rainy Day Ian though.. he the calmest of them all.

I'm also can't wait to see Blood rap haha.

Gettin' antsy waiting for the Group Stream post to go up
Man, the PGW results show was just what I needed this evening. A double dose of TTE too.

I've been watching the notifications too after all my fuss about last week's being on a Tuesday :(

Keep in mind next week is the bets punishment raps and the Sonic Forces character creation first, maybe don't get your bestest ideas nominated if you want a full 2 hours for them.

I posted my Bloodborne jolly co-op group stream idea again. Hope it gains some more traction this week. It's an idea that I think would work well

Thanks for the tip. I was actually planning to skip this week and vote for Tregard's proposal, but maybe he'll want to hold off too.

I'm putting mine up this week, but only because I think it's gone up too late again, so I'm trying to build momentum without winning the vote this week :P Thank yoy though:) Is it tournament week after also?

3 of the top 4 suggestions so far are the defeated losers from last week.

We need a hard limit on how many times a game can appear in the vote.

3 repeat losers + 1 new game isn't a working system. There are so many other ideas that don't get a look in because people feel they were hard done by last time, or that now last week's winner is gone, their pick must win.

But then again, who is to say that all four of the nominees from the first week wouldn't all be good streams in their own right? I certainly feel like if my "The Mole" group stream night idea made it to the poll but got beat out narrowly by a recent release, I would be putting that back up every week from then on out.

Oh man, I just started watching the AC: Origins stream and I just can't imagine coming into games with that mindset. Yikes. Honestly, that's kind of why I don't care for reviews at all or anybody's impressions. People just have different tolerances for different things. Myself, I'm usually one to adapt immediately to the game versus wanting a game to do something a certain way. I like playing within the confines of a ruleset, which I like to be different from game to game. I suppose it also ties into the Hottake on last week's Frame Trap- I feel like my mindset going in often DOES determine how much I like a given game. That's not to say I won't give games a fair shot, but I'm pretty good about determining just what I'll like before I ever get my hands on it. That doesn't mean I won't criticize parts of games that I do enjoy though.
I have to agree with Damiani about that opening though. Man, what a rough ride. In media res rarely, if ever, works out right. Usually it just seems to pull me away from the story. Luckily, the game gets better as it goes on in the storytelling department.

I feel you on that whole going into a game with the right mindset just making everything better. It's like how Huber talks about his love for horror and how he intentionally readies himself and allows himself to get into the atmosphere to be frightened still even after seeing hundreds of horror films.

Damn, that Hoeg explanation was way better than anything I got in law school. That was broken down for a general audience really, really well.

Whether you are caught up with TTE or not, I encourage all of you to watch Episode 81 starting at 1:01:00 until 1:02:30.

That bit had me rolling. Its amazing.

Brad: ...she rolled low on that one.

It's certainly makes for a boring poll every week. I used to be excited to see the options...

I think losers at the poll stage should be banned for 1 month (maybe more). Makes things more exciting and creates tension.

No, because looking at the front runners right now, I want one of the repeats to win. I don't expect a poll to be fun, or exciting and I never will feel any tension voting, I expect it to lead to a good stream which I think the losing choices from last week would have.

While not a lawyer, I work in finance and negotiations and he did a great job explaining fiduciary responsibility. While not the same situation, fiduciary responsibility also ties into that I accurately reflect the finances and negotiations to Wall Street because I can go to jail if I hide or obscure stuff to make us look better.

Sure. But if losers keep always losing it shows a divide between the committee and the general poll voting audience.

The committee is in a more restrictive patreon tier ($2) and it's a smaller and dedicated group making the decision for what will get to the poll stage. If the general poll voters always reject their samey choices it shows that their interests are not aligned.

What should we do, let the committee insists till their choices inevitably get in or push them to be creative?

I generally don't want creativity unless there's a theme idea from the group or a really good idea like The Mole. I want them to sit down and play a multiplayer game, preferably 4 players or more, and hear some fun banter. If games were DQ'd due to the misfortune of being popular but not popular enough to win the vote, then that would really suck and I'd have to campaign to ask people to remove their hearts from Game X because it's likely something else is going to win because it's either just much more popular, or meme game of the week (Thanks Sonic Forces!) and we wouldn't want to burn that option because of some arbitrary rules.

Yoo, YouTube somehow unsubscribed me from both EZA and EZA Plays??? No wonder I wasn't seeing any of their content of my feed lately. WTF

edit: Yeah, so a bunch of my subscriptions are missing for some reason. How does that even happen?

I meant creative not as "crazy streams" but as keeping the games different.
I'm against a lifetime ban. Just a timed ban, to keep things rotating in/out.

1000 people (sometimes less) vote out of 6000+ patrons. It is clear that a vast majority of their patrons don't care.

So at the end of the day, the people voting and hearting stuff are most likely those same people watching on twitch.

So the system governs itself. The same people voting are the same people watching. If this is what they want to watch, then it is what they want to watch. Simple as that.

I would understand if it was like a handful making the choices and then everyone else got to vote on that.

For the record, my wife thinks you all are sockpuppets I use to buoy my ego. She jokingly asked last time, "Just how many YouTube accounts do you have?". :) But seriously, thanks again for the kind words. I'm glad my description of what is absolutely a difficult concept (for lawyers as well) worked for you. I believe the disclaimer I gave to Kyle was that whole semester-long courses can be (and are) taught on the topic, so I broke it down to what I called a "podcast summary edition".

Seriously I do like the tidbits you drop from time to time that helps deflate what can be very emotional situations for people who don't typically understand law and corporations. A basic business law course usually helps makes sense of these situations (not the nitty gritty nuances but at least the jist of the situation) but not everyone obviously has had those opportunities. Your input regarding fan remakes of games was especially well done.

Here's another sockpuppet who is entertained and educated by your contributions to the podcast. Thanks for taking the time to elucidate these issues.

Kyle's little aside about remembering fiduciary by "that fun word in the middle" made me smile broadly.

"Spoiler" regarding the podcast team bets.
So the Red Eagles are ahead of the Purple Platypi by 7 now. By my count there are 7 Tuesdays left this year (and they're probably going to do at least one L&R only episode). Unless the platypi start putting in the same bets and tie-win for 2 points, I think they're boned.

Rigged!

Random thought: I miss the old Purple Platypi team sound.

Dang, you really don't stand a chance if you miss the first few hours of the Group Stream Suggestions post, do you?

First posts have 30 - 60 likes, then it tails off to about 5 - 15

It's a somewhat common YT error that happens every now and then. The few Youtubers I follow on Twitter tend to ask people every few months to check their subs in case YT unsubscribed them automatically.
It's either a glitch or just another way YouTube screws with content creators.
