reading the reviews for some of the wireless charging pads has been quite comical... They range from AMAZING, OMGWTFBBQ!!!!, HOW DID I EVER LIVE WITHOUT THIS to ARRRRGGGHH, WHY DOES IT TAKE FOREVER TO CHARGE THIS!!!!!!! I wonder why people thought that wireless charging pads would offer a faster charging solution than the original method of just connecting the phone to an outlet? I am still interested in picking up a wireless charging pad, and right now the mophie pad is the front runner for me. I do not need the phone to charge as fast as some others seem to need it to, so I do not care... but its pretty funny reading those negative reviews...
I know I asked a few pages back, but have any of you X users settled on a wireless solution yet?
I used a Mophie battery case that supported Qi with my 7, so I've been on the bandwagon for a while. I have a 3 coil stand-style charger made by Tylt (the Vü), and a Mophie charging pad that was free with the case. I forget the product name, but it's the smallest pad they offer.
My advice would be to get a stand-style charger. My old Qi case was magnetised, and would adhere to the sweet spot of the flat pad for an accurate charging connection. However I've noticed that positioning my X on the small pad is much more difficult without the magnet. I'll even find that I'll establish a good charging connection, and then observe that for some reason the connection was lost over night, and never reestablished. Not sure if the issue is the phone, the pad, or my own positioning error; but I've never had this problem with the Tylt charger (it's as flawless with my X as it was with my 7), and I imagine a big part of that is because it's almost impossible to position the phone incorrectly.
Just something to bear in mind. I'm going to replace the Mophie pad with
this, since the Tylt charger is much more expensive, and I think the key is having three coils and a stand configuration.
Edit: updated the link to a charger that specifically doesn't have bright LED lights; better for nightstand.
