I just saw the trailer for Hazbin Hotel, and it's a pretty neat-looking indie project.
Here's the thread for it, which needs more activity.
This looks really good. I like the design for the main character. I'm getting kind of a Beetlejuice vibe from the art direction.
If you're wondering what happens before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Disney will hopefully answer your questions with the anime-inspired series Star Wars Resistance. The Mouse House has ordered the animated adventure series which will chronicle the events prior to Episode VII.
Production has already begun for Star Wars Resistance which will follow Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order. The animated series will feature new characters as well as everyone's favorite rolling droid BB-8. There will also be some familiar voices in the cast including Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron and Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, who have both appeared in the recent Star Wars pics.
Star Wars Resistance is set to premiere this fall on Disney Channel stateside and then Disney XD and around the world shortly after.
The series includes many from the team that worked on the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Star Wars Resistance was created by Lucasfilm Animation veteran Dave Filoni, executive-produced by Athena Portillo, Justin Ridge and Brandon Auman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles); and art-directed by Amy Beth Christenson.
Almost 20 years after Chicken Run became the most successful stop-motion animated film of all time (a record it still holds to this day), The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Aardman Animations is officially working on a sequel.
Details of the film are scarce at the moment, with the project not yet ready to hit markets. But THR understands that the U.K. animation powerhouse is developing the film alongside StudioCanal, with which it has partnered on its most recent titles, and Pathe, which co-financed the original with DreamWorks Animation and distributed it in Europe.
This just seems... so unwarranted? Like, why a sequel nearly 20 years later when the original was meant as a standalone?
Old enough for nostalgia, I guess. This just seems... so unwarranted? Like, why a sequel nearly 20 years later when the original was meant as a standalone?
Don't get me wrong, I love the movie to bits but why though. It's basically a Finding Dory situation.
There's this. Though the brief episode descriptions start to get more spoiler-ry as you go along. If one wants to get into or watch Adventure Time, are there any episodes one could skip and just watch the major story parts of the show? I generally avoid doing such a thing buuuut I tried getting into Adventure Time once but its aesthetic and randomness just didn't grab my interest.
Yeah, she said as much in a later tweet. We've already seen the look they're going for, imitating the old style. Also she's a director, not a character designer or storyboarder so I don't think her artistic style would influence the show much.
I'm putting on The Adventures of Prince Achmed right now, for curiosity's sake. The oldest surviving feature-length animated film, and possibly the only surviving animated feature of the silent era.
So I'm almost done watching the main episodes of Season 4 of Adventure Time and they mention the Cosmic Owl.
Concerned I looked up the wiki and the character gets more fleshed out in the NEXT Season. Made me feel like I had skipped some episodes or something @_@
I see, though I feel like the major events just don't come off very impactful to the characters, since after everything is resolved it just goes back to being laidback and casual.IIRC the Cosmic Owl is mentioned/seen a couple of times early on, but that was when stuff was thrown out for wackiness sake & the only person on the team pushing for any lore in the show (And one of the few in Western Animation period) was Rebecca Sugar. So, unfortunately, it was downplayed until they needed to find a way to retroactively make the Cosmic Owl fit the story.
That was one of my largest gripes with Adventure Time. Before I realized none of these mentions of The Mushroom War or the Cosmos were supposed to be leading to something, I felt the show was stretching out the gaps between info drops for too long. Then I realized these waits were because they were winging it, & it did not feel cohesive. I don't know where certain events took place season-wise & don't want to risk spoiling for you, but there's an egregious example I'm sitting on here.
Long-running Adult Swim character Harvey Birdman will return to the channel this fall in a half-hour special.
In the special, Harvey Birdman, Attorney General, Birdman is named attorney general by very fictional President Phil Ken Sebben, described as a megalomaniac billionaire.
"In his new role, it's up to Harvey Birdman to find a way to remove president Phil Ken Sebben from office before everyone starts to worry it's more than the ridiculous plot to an animated show," the network said.
Gary Cole returns to provide the voice for the winged Birdman, while President Sebben is again played by Stephen Colbert. Other returning cast members include John Michael Higgins, Paget Brewster, Chris Edgerly, Peter MacNicol and Phil LaMarr.
Guessing you mean threads like the Thundercats one, and not specific show OTs.I don't know why I keep going into OT western animation threads, they always piss me off.

Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment today revealed the first look at Lauren Faust's redesigned art for the upcoming DC Super Hero Girls television series. The Cartoon Network reboot series was originally revealed back in May of last year, when it was announced the series would jump from direct-to-video movies and webisodes to a full-blown series order.
Faust is best known for her work in reviving the My Little Pony property with the massively popular television series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The series will be executive produced by Warner Bros. Animation chief Sam Register, who is currently in charge of running Cartoon Network series Teen Titans GO! and Justice League Action. A Teen Titans GO! movie, Teen Titans GO! to the Movies, is slated to hit theaters on July 27.
Neat. Glad SBFF is finally sort of making it to series, and that Faust finally got a major project again. It seemed like everything she started was getting canceled.Super Best Friends Forever and DC Super Hero Girls did the fusion dance, courtesy of Lauren Faust

That's a shame, it's the best show on CN right now to me alongside Gumball but with season 2 of KO it might have surpassed it a bitGot recommended an OK KO clip that had some pretty great animation. Almost pulled me into the show... and then the character designs pushed me back out. Can't get past them for some reason. Feh.
Should probably spend that time catching up on Gumball, anyway.

The article says that character is Zatanna.Whoa! Lauren Faust's SBFF more or less has been greenlitted to a full series. Gonna miss having Donna Troy around though. But can't wait! I do gotta wonder if the left-most character is Phantom Girl. And loving Supergirl's hair. Kind of reminds me Carol Danvers' look.
