This is the first time I'll be skipping an Artifex Mundi game. I'm done with them. Is anyone else skipping it? I bought the first 13 but I'm sort of all gamed out from their offerings. Interesting that they've gone back down to what I think is a reasonable price. In Canada it's $15 regular price and it has a $12 launch discount (just like the USA).
My plan for the next few days:
1) Complete Watch Dogs 2 in time for next weekend (which I'm not digging so far - weird. hopefully it clicks for me)
2) Next weekend, start and finish Hellblade (which I have pre-ordered - I'm SO freakiung pumped about this PS4 exclusive finally making its way to Xbox)
3) After that, I really want to asap start either Witcher 3 or FFXV.
What I've played recently: just a bunch of DLC and A Way Out.
AC Origins DLC: Curse of the Pharaohs: 5/5. Absolutely fantastic and gorgeous and addictive DLC. Took me around 15+ hours I think to 100% it. This could be its own standalone $40 game.
Little Nightmares DLC: The Resident: 5/5. The best DLC, and I'd say the only amazing DLC so far in the game. The Residence chapter was fantastic IMO, more reminiscent of the final chapter of the main campaign (which I loved - everything to do with the Japanese/Eastern-inspired decor and architecture in the house and the tall, slender, but
frightening villain made the main campaign's final chapter, and this final DLC, my favourite).
Super Lucky's Tale DLC: Gilly's Island: 3/5. Nothing special. Very bright and colourful. Same standard game play as the main campaign. I don't think Super Lucky's Tale in general is great - just merely good or mediocre. But definitely worth a playthrough because we don't get these kinds of bright and colourful platformers often on Xbox.
Batman Telltale Season 2: Episode 5: 3/5. A decent final episode but not amazing. Just like the whole season really. I know I should say to myself "
Montresor, just stop buying these Telltale games sight unseen" but I don't think I'll be able to resist the final season of Walking Dead or the second season of Wolf Among Us.
A Way Out: 5/5. Josef Fares does it again hahah. His first game Brothers was a fantastic puzzle/adventure game. And while this game is way, way, WAY lighter on puzzles, it is just a fantastic narrative/adventure game. My thoughts on the camera work in the game are here:
