Absolutely blown away by the Kulve fight. I love everything about the whole thing.
It's crazy to think that this was merely a free update.

I should make a shoutout to let everyone know I'm about to put a monster to sleep, so tired of having everyone wake monsters instantly, how dense can someone be to not notice that x.x
It's such an addicting quest. Never thought I'd say this, but it will be weird going back to normal/solo hunting after the event is over.
The Taroth armor awakens them, and a lot of them have really crazy elemental stats. So far I've gotten a bow with 390 water, a lance with 450 sleep, and an axe with 420 blast. This event is fun but every single rarity 8 weapon I've gotten is pretty crap. Most of them have this Hidden element nonsense.

Is it possible to get Taroth gems from random shiny drops or is it only from carves?
Man, those R8 relics are pure gold. I just got a Thunder Lance that takes all 5 levels of thunder attack boost and now it has 760 thunder on it (base was 600) with 20% affinity (I aug it for another 10% so now it has 30%), lvl 3 gem slot and a defense bonus, this is insane. I made a build with 100% affinity, crit element, crit boost 3, thunder 5, Guard 3, Max Might 2 and Weakness Exploit 3 and this thing just hits like a truck, I don't have a single attack boost on this build and it wrecks everything with weakness to thunder 2 or higher.
This event is like a heaven for elemental weapons and builds, can't stop farming, won't stop farming :D
I got one from a shiny drop. It's an incredibly low chance, but this is somewhat counteracted by Kulve dropping a huge amount of shinies.
I have even seen people claim they got a gem from gathering tracks (which normally only has a low chance of yielding scales and the like), though I personally find that hard to believe.
Go to the discord room and join up with those people.I feel like I basically can't search then join any session with more than 2 people. Even then, I can still fail with 2 people. Capcom seriously needs to fix this. It's killing my interest in the event.
Quest rewards, yes. Not the Siege rewards you collect in the gathering hall.
I like the fact that more people are in the gathering hub now. I love to just sit down and look at how other people designed their characters. Give me a PSO vibe from back in the day. I wish future special quests were only accessed from the hub. It's such an addicting quest. Never thought I'd say this, but it will be weird going back to normal/solo hunting after the event is over.
You said you were able to connect with others online in other games, yes? You're not the only with this issue. I have friends with the same problem. The problem is not on your end. But, for some reason only a few are experiencing this.I feel like I basically can't search then join any session with more than 2 people. Even then, I can still fail with 2 people. Is it just me or are all the Taroth weapon drops kinda crap? Even the rarity 8 ones aren't great, and the rarity 6 ones are entirely useless.
Random comments really but:-
1. I'm impressed how closely balanced the weapons must be. Every session I've joined nearly everyone has different weapons and armour. There's nowhere close to one "perfect" set. (unlike destiny where you'd run fatebringer, sniper, Ghorn for everything)
2. I'm impressed how much "new" features of the game this quest has brought out. Its getting people to use the session search, it's getting people to use the gathering hall. Off the back of those it's tempting people to use support builds. The weapons are also tempting people into elemental builds.

Lol they are not, the R8 and even some R7 are awesome. What is with people saying R8 weapons are crap? Pretty much best elemental weapons in the game.
As you progress you'll start to craft gear with skills, and you can slot them in through decorations as you get into high rank. Also how do you get skills? I've seen them in some YouTube videos but I can't see any option to add them to my gear.
Sometimes she just doesn't give you a choice and spams that shit. You definitely need to keep you health maxed out or have people with wide range.People really need to learn to get out of the way of Kulve's lava breath. Failed the quest three times in a row because people just can't deal with it.
Being a lance user, I can of course simply block the lava that this giant dragon spews all over the floor, because that makes perfect sense.

Weakness Exploit. You should always be hitting the head with hammer and it's generally the best zone for impact damage on nearly every monster. I personally don't run KO or ear plugs on hammer and just use rocksteady and impact mantles and stack up damage skills on my armor. But they are decent skills especially if you are just picking up the weapon.I think I got a decent hammer and want to play it some. What's some good skills or armor?
Seems like KO, ear plugs. What else?
Okay might have to take back what I said about the weapons 'cause this seems pretty good and better than my Doom's Shaft:

For this I think I can rearrange some things. Looks nicer too.
Try comparing that to the Great Hunter's Bow. That's more of a direct comparison. They have all of the same coatings available, but the Taroth one has more raw, way more blast (that needs to be awakened, but still), and a bit more defense.Okay might have to take back what I said about the weapons 'cause this seems pretty good and better than my Doom's Shaft:
