The cardboard ones? All my PS1 games with that are in tip top shape after all those years (minus a little detachment of the upper spine in one game, because of the glue wearing off, I suppose that I only need to apply some extra glue).

But those long jewel cases hinges break down if you just glance them.
Yeah, my Resident Evil is still perfect.

Love, love that LRG seems to stick to open pre-orders for Switch games so far.

I'll be buying both Mercenary Kings and Flint Hook on Monday. :D

As a momentous occasion: Definitely significant, a cool thing to happen 25 years later, but not all that surprising. It's a different Nintendo and a different developer (at least in the sense of the dude handling the port).

As a LRG games release: it's a year old port of a game that already got a pricey, nice PS4 CE and most people were expecting to have ordered at least one Switch exclusive release by this point. I'm not surprised folks are getting a little impatient.

Can't please everyone, the announcement so far has gone really really well for us.

I already own it on PS4 and tend to hate multiplat repeats for the Switch lineup if they're recent LRG games (Stuff like Shantae/Futuridium/Xeodrifter/SMRPG though I don't mind), but this is one I'll take since I enjoyed it on PS4, it was announced with the digital version and thus I will be buying the Switch port via you guys. Still, I do think an actual exclusive like Slime San or Golf Story can't come soon enough, but NT is a good game as well and I do hope you send a copy to Howard. Good announcement by my standards

I don't mind them if they're new to all systems, like Mercenary Kings or Thimbleweed park, it just depends on the quality of the game and the appeal for me. I'd buy Elliot Quest day one for both platforms if that got LRG'd, while I'm more willing to try things out of my comfort zone if it's stuff that's switch exclusive

Cannot wait for Night Trap on Switch, I freaking love that game. Absolutely bonkers to see it finally come to a Nintendo platform.

Same. Stuff like Mercenary King and Thimbleweed Park is fine because they're new, but what I'm really craving is one of the big exclusive titles we've been talking about for months here. Kamiko, Blaster Master Zero, Golf Story, Blossom Tale.

Elliot Quest PS4/Switch would be great too.

Im just not interested in multi plat releases for Switch. But thats just me

Nah, it's just us. :)

Not talking about new releases....I'll gladly get "Mercenary Kings" for SWI. But I, too, am eagerly waiting for games like "Golf Story" or, dare we hope, "Blaster Master Zero", not to mention all those nice shmups on the eShop.

At the same time I do feel a bit let down by those re-releases of games we already have for PS4, simply because it feels like now Ihave the inferior version. "Flinthook" is a good example of this. I love my PS4 copy...but the SWI release looks so much better, with the manual and whatnot. I'm torn on how I feel about the LE.....it looks real nice but I don't think I like the two-sided cover thingy. Doesn't matter because I won't buy it anyway, because I already have "Flinthook".

Yeah. And now I'm worried "Night Trap" will also be a nice package than the one I have here. SMRPG stings as well, the
At E contents sure sounded nice. But I just don't want to double dip.

Long story short, hopefully some SWI exclusives will be upon us soon. :)

Don't you realize the significance of it?

Heh. It's one of those where I understand the significance of it,but you think "the gaming market has changed substantially in the last 25 years" and launching on a platform that has Binding of Isaac and that indies flock to seem... less impactful.

(Yes, yes, "never" and all that, I do get it)

That the Vita version was scuttled?

I hope we do get an answer to this. Screaming Villains seemed to disappear completely after the PS4 release aside from that dev kit tease.

That picture of a Nintendo Switch copy of Night Trap with an esrb logo on it is all kinds of surreal. Glad to see that it is a thing.

Honestly I don't mind Switch versions of games that have already had PlayStation releases. I don't own/collect for those systems, so I'm down for more multiplats (I still want golf story though). It also gives people who missed the game the first time another shot.

I hope May isn't killer for Vita owners after a quiet April. Two games a month is the best pace for Vita releases, IMO.

I see there are some future unfolding left. The game would have been $25 and releasing alongside another game I'd have taken it out of curiosity, but I'm afraid I must skip this one :(

I feel exactly the same way.
In a vacuum these rereleases are good news but I don't like being torn on an LRG release I already own, and feeling that I need to "upgrade". At first it was only Flinthook, now it's also Night Trap. Oceanhorn is obviously coming soon.
I'll maybe resell some PS4 games to finance their Switch "Superior Version" but that's some annoying extra work.

(First world problems, am I right ?)

Well, it's not only that. Also I don't WANT to sell them because I was so happy when I first got them and they're, you know, part of my collection. It's just this nagging feeling that the SWI version would indeed be an upgrade that irks me, and I just have to get over it, I guess.
Making super nice CEs doesn't help things, of course. :-p

And in the future....I don't know, maybe the cycle begins anew, so to say: I got worried that digital games I bought would end up getting a very welcome physical release and I'd "have" to double dip, Nowadays I'm pretty much done buying digitally.....but NOW I'll have to start to take Switch ports into consideration. :D

But I'm happy for those who don't have the games yet!

It doesn't mean much, but the first PS4 print will still be rarer, so from a strict collecting point of view you're not in a bad place :)

I can see myself upgrading games I especially liked (Flinthook and NT fit the bill) but I won't do this all the time.
It helps that I'm super used to sell second hand games and never grow too attached on a particuliar SKU.

Is Siralim any good?

I don't know why I it and Siralim 2 as a combo title on my Vita sheet. Weird. I must have mis-read it originally.
