Checking in again to say this game continues to be magical at what I imagine is approaching around 400 hours for me on my original save (forgot to check the exact total). My current self-imposed quests are to find all the Koroks without any guides (I am using the mask), and to find all the treasure chests (I am using the Sheikah sensor). Having the mask and the sensor on at all times means I'm kind of just meandering and appreciating the most minute details of the environment that I'd missed, goofing around with physics and enemies, and occasionally being surprised by the sensor or the little voice from the mask. Oh, and filling the compendium is simply delightful as well. If only the in-game album weren't infuriatingly small.
I forgot to look at this too, but I believe I likely just recently passed the 800 mark for Koroks (I wish you could see your total collected somewhere other than the loading screen since I've maxed my inventory and can only see the ones I have on hand in the menu). My MO has become to just scan the map for areas where found Korok icons are less dense. Even still, there are some places I'm just shocked there isn't a single Korok (like the Bottomless Swamp) and some places where it's like a goddang Korok Party (Bridge of Hylia area).
Actually I was rewatching Vinny Vinesauce play through BotW and watched him find a single Korok on the Citadel that I missed. At that point I believe I had only found one in that general vicinity, but when I returned to get the one I saw in the video, I found like six more. And I had some fun with those flying Guardians while I was there, of course.
The bike continues to be very very fun. It requires the most unholy of claw-hand configurations, but I can now pretty consistently fight Guardians on the bike while being able to use the camera, lock-on, and brake for quick turns. I do wish the thing weren't quite so unwieldy on uneven terrain, and I also wish you could deploy your paraglider while remaining on the bike for sick gliding-jumps. But overall it's a great addition and really does fantastically compliment the game. It coexists with horses quite nicely, and I always keep both nearby.
I recently discovered a new recipe, which always rocks my world when it happens. To be more precise, I just noticed one of those recipe posters on the wall of a stable that I'd missed. But it requires Goron spice, which is only obtainable three at a time in Goron City (unless there's a traveling Goron that sells it).
Maybe this weekend I'll stop being lazy and upload this absolute pile of shots and videos I have to Twitter. There isn't a way to do that in bulk, right?
Anywho, this game is still as close to perfect as I care for it to be. The world is just so alive and kinetic and the moment-to-moment feeling of jumping and running around in it has still not become old to me.
