I've seen multiple of these threads get locked pretty quickly but I would actually like to know the rationale behind not implementing them. It's a really odd thing to have turned off in 2018 when emojis are a huge way people communicate online.
And here we have tons of text spam. I don't see much difference aside from delivery method.I think blocking emojis is an outstanding feature that sets Era apart from most of the rest of the internet. Twitter and other forums are filled with emoji spam instead of requiring people to even attempt to put thought into a post.
If you need to think for a bit to convey emotion and meaning without emojis, that's probably a good thing since it means your post requires more time and thought, improving the forum as a whole.
Seeing corny lyrics in peoples names with (f) on the contact list because the list wouldnt actually display the emojis.
Where do you see text spam? Legitimate spam typically gets reported and warned appropriately. And here we have tons of text spam. I don't see much difference aside from delivery method.
People who want to put thought into a post will. People who won't will give one liners or driveby spam in whatever form is available. Emojis make no difference. This is 2018 and humanity has evolved. We can speak more than one language. We can put thought into what we want to say and actually decide that emojis are the best way to express ourselves.I think blocking emojis is an outstanding feature that sets Era apart from most of the rest of the internet. You used the phrase "emoji spam". Did you mean something other than "masses of posts using emoji and no text?"Where do you see text spam? Legitimate spam typically gets reported and warned appropriately.
No. Emojis quickly become a replacement for actual thoughts and words.
GIFs are better anyway.
No, but this is a disingenuous argument since "spam" has a different meaning when applied to text content than simply "masses of posts using text and no emojis".You used the phrase "emoji spam". Did you mean something other than "masses of posts using emoji and no text?"
What?
This guy and monocle dude are really the standouts of iOS 11.1, with barfing guy a distant third.
I recently found a revival server for MSN. Works pretty well outside of some weird connection issues. I had a nostalgic blast using it with my friends a few weekends ago hahaha
¯\_(ツ)_/¯Can anyone explain to me in what way the word "spam" applies to emoji that cannot also be applied to text posts?
And further, why that wouldn't be moderated in the same way text posts already are?

It's not supported because this version of XenForo uses a MySQL version that doesn't support actually storing them.
It's why embedded tweets can show emoji though, as the tweets are being retrieved by your browser from Twitter itself.
