I'm in chapter 12 and still don't know how to unlock the Club mini game or fishing. <.<

It's really fun, and I've been playing it for hours straight, didn't do that for a while.

Btw. is there an end for Troublr missions?

The red dot is the Snack Bar or club minigame that I think you're talking about.

I believe green is where the fishing should be.

Edit: I remember having to walk by the Snack Bar a lot of times before it triggered. *You aren't able to just walk in.

Started this yesterday after finishing kiwami last month. So weird going back to kinda 30fps.

New combat system is pretty fun against mobs but feels a bit clunky 1v1 vs bosses.

I'm using triangle way more. The rush combo just feels off?

What does being stomach gauge do?

Is there any reward from doing troubr quests? I'm not noticing any after finishing them?

I keep missing certain buildings because I'm so used to seeing the "X to Enter" prompt when you're near a door lol

I honestly found the opposite, it's fun in multi man situations but the camera can be iffy but in 1v1 it really shines

Stomach gauge shows how much food you can eat (if you go into a restaurant there's numbers in the bottom left for how full they make Kiryu) and if you go over the amount you don't get XP off that food just HP

I think the combat isn't /bad/, it's a solid foundation for future titles (and from what I played of the Kiwami 2 demo, they've definitely improved it), but it's too damn sluggish until you've upgraded your speed to the max and unlocked all evasive skills.

I can make a sandwich and sing karaoke in the time it takes Kiryu to recover from his attack animations.

Money rolls in like there no tomorrow in Onomichi if you have the perk for extra money. Shit, I forgot to tell you guys to make sure you have two items for side content before leaving Kamurocho. A pork bento lunch set and I'm pretty sure the other one is protein from the gym.
Which protein and what is the lunch set exactly called?

Got my copy today and been playing around the game for 3-4 hours and I definitely am enjoying it as much as previous entries so far.

I am Interested where the story will take Kiryu this time and I feel like it's good to be back to ONE character after playing though Yakuza 4 and 5 last month which stories I felt were all over the place with multiple characters taking the spotlight.

The combat feels a bit sluggish but I'll get used to it. I like the smooth transition into and out of battles.

This was how I felt for the first half of the game, that multi-man situations are worse than one on one, especially in smaller areas as you can get juggled between guys and just get mosh pit hit by them just trying to get back up. Then again swinging around a bike three times ends most street battles. But the Dragon Heat Rush and that Quick Time Event Muay Thai knee strike Heat move made the 1vs1 battles feel easier and less memorable to me, even when turning the difficulty up.

The seamless city just keeps impressing me. Walking into Spunky (or something like that) and actually being on the second floor of a building looking down on Kamurocho is such a small things, but it really wowed me after playing so many prior Yakuza games where such a thing wasn't possible. And then it further wowed me when I could jump out the window and back into another building. And then when I walked out of that building onto Theather Square, another wow. Previous Yakuza games really captured the feel of Kabukicho, but this goes above and beyond. Especially in first person.

And also just tiny details like you wouldn't see in the previous games, like the fact that not all air conditioning units on the sides of buildings are perfectly horizontal. Some are slightly askew. I don't think that was a thing before.

Head to the gym and look at the items that you can buy that give you a ton of exp. I don't remember exactly what it's called but you need the one that says protein I believe.

What chapter should I expect this to happen? I'm still in Ch. 2 at the moment.

Just buy them anytime before leaving Kamurocho, the game will let you know when it's time to leave so you don't have to worry about taking off without having that stuff.
Ah, okay, thanks. I figured the game would do its warning of "HEY, this is a point of no return, so make sure you take care of some stuff" like previous entries, but wanted to make sure.

Any word on how to get the item that lets you find sidestories on the map? This is the first time I'm playing a Yakuza game at launch without a walkthrough at my side to help me do as much as possible. I don't think I've found a single side-story in Ch. 2 yet.

Thank you.

Finally getting money drops from some mobs. I'm rich, biatch! Seems like bumping Fortune up to level 2 helped a lot. Only got drops from like 3-4 dudes and I have 171k.

Yeah getting money from random fights is a bit different this time around. I could go several fights getting absolutely squat, then all of the sudden an enemy drops ¥60,000.

Its more like 4 and 5's drop rates, You didnt always get yen in random battles in those games either. 6 is kind of interesting. It is a new engine that has taken lots of elements both from 4 and 5 as well as 0 and Kiwami.

They removed that item for this game.

I imagine they thought it would allow the city to feel more organic and alive if you just stumbled upon substories.

Well, guess I'll swing by the old hostess club....

*you now have 5 girls to choose from*

OOOOOOOHHHHHHHH

Kiryu gonna up his game

HOLY CRAP, it's completely different, aaaaah.

Edit: So what I should be trying to do is aim for combos in talking about stuff that's related, i.e. select 2 Party cards in a row, right?

So far I'm in Chapter 4 of the game, does anyone know if there is a trouble finder item that shows all the sub stories on the map in this one?

Hmmm, so I think I sort of like the new hostess mechanics? No longer do you have to worry about an answer having a negative effect, but in exchange, it's now MUCH harder to get it maxed out, especially since it seems you can only extend your time twice. It's all about remembering which cards give you a boost while which ones don't offer anything aside from keeping a combo going which helps increase how much the meter goes up. Plus it's nice to deal with less ranks overall.

Also KIryu's backup for Like a Butterfly is HILARIOUS. FRY LIEK A BUTTERFRY

omg, Paul Lim is in the game and they got the singaporean accent pretty spot on.

Edit: on a second thought. They probably got the man himself voiced the character.

So I never finished Y5, and haven't played much of 0 or Ishin. Finished 1-4 though.

How bad an idea would it be for me to get this?

Got my copy, ready to pounce later tonight. Really impressed with the day one packaging, at least the inner sleeve and hard cover book. So damn cool!

Can't freaking wait! Yakuza, why you so good?

YOU CAN'T CONTROL THE CAMERA WHILE AT THE HOSTESS CLUB ANYMORE, 0/10, WORST DOWNGRADE IN A SEQUEL

But all seriousness, it's really neat to see these games always write interesting hostesses that have unique personalities & interests with their own side stories.

Also, any way to know which cats you've already "rescued" Edit: Oh, in Awards, nevermind.

I love the hostess who's also a wrestler (forgot her name). I'm about to raise her rank to Diamond.

Yup, just finished Saki's sub story. I look forward to seeing the other 4. Plus I actually have a guide now to help me know which cards will be the best to choose, along with knowing now I need to figure out all 7 different traits (favorite food, music, etc.)

The cut scenes in this are insanely long. Finishing Chapter 11 and it's literally been non stop.

This milk quest is driving me insane. Just let it be over so I can stop doing this stupid Haruto minigame every 20 seconds.
