I'm way past that, and know what you mean. But I don't remember there any option to go play actual baseball after that appearing. Google tells me it's accessible via Taxi, but I don't have that option.

I expected the engine change to bring better visuals but the upgrade is so insane. Onomichi is straight up the most gorgeous setting I've ever seen in a realistic-looking game, even at 900p on a regular PS4.
Finally got round to playing the prologue demo, a day before release. Really glad I did as I wouldn't have liked to stop where you do with the main mission and one side quest I couldn't complete, long before the actual release. I'm really enjoying it, enemies ragdolling is great, though it has been fairly easy so far on hard. Love that everything is voiced now and being able to walk into buildings, especially in first person. This is going to be a blast, and to think Yakuza Kiwami 2 is also coming out this year.
It is. At this point I'm wondering if I should have unlocked it back then but fucked it up somehow and are now locked out.
Okay, I found out what the problem was. You have to go to a specific spot in Onomichi near the spearfishing guy and hope that a random cutscene triggers with a baseball player walking up to you.
You're never "locked out" unless you're at a point where it's the wrong time of day or the main story has taken all precedence. Assuming you're past the main story baseball game, cruise around by the Navy Apartments (I think) until you run into Chiba.

Also, you'll be able to enjoy Yakuza 6 without playing the previous ones so it'll be fine. The first hour is spent getting you up to speed for the story ahead.
I played this (and loved it) in Japanese last year, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone thinks of it. There's a story revelation towards the end of the game that is one of the most hilariously unexpected things I've ever seen and I can't wait to see the reactions :P

I love this mini game. Still play it with my kids. Also, I realize, OT title aside, Y6 isn't really competing with GoW, and I'm genuinely interested to see how GoW has matured, but part of what I love about Yakuza is that it lets you revel in being a man without feeling like a fucking tool, something that all previous GoWs have failed to allow.

So pissed I chickened out on the collectors edition. That and GOW collectors is just too much money. But I still got it! Can't wait to dive in.
