Thought I'd let everyone know that I'm currently in the process of revamping the opening post to be more balanced toward other distributors out in the wild. I'll eventually be trimming down the information on the Limited Run catalog and consolidating what I can into a single Google spreadsheet for an easier read beyond a wall-of-text. At the moment, I'm running into a few technical troubles with getting everything fleshed out so the roll out of the document will be a little slower than I'd prefer. I spoke with Dancrane212 over the past several days about blending our threads together and we agreed that it would best to have everything sheltered under a single roof. Based on the details, I believe his thread will be locked instead of merged (leaving it possibly to reopen in the future if necessary) and this thread should soon be renamed "Indie, Small & Region-Specific Retail Releases |OT| feat. Limited Run Games". I messaged an admin yesterday night so these adjustments should be made in the near future. Dan's spreadsheet, latest Twitter and opening remarks have been provided in the OP so all his resources are available right off the bad. Does the same post still appear overly disproportionate toward LRG? Yeah, I'm well aware of that aspect as I salvaged most content via copy-and-paste amidst the GAF migration. It'll gradually be altered with a showcase of other fellow distributors possibly with countdowns for their material if it doesn't appear too cluttered. I welcome every bit of constructive criticism so, please, let me know what I can do to make it a better, "one-stop" source for other fellow collectors on the Net!

Honestly, I prefer having 2 threads, since LRG discussion can take up quite a bit of the thread. It's slow now, but if it turns out anything like back on Gaf, it might drown out the discussion for other small releases. Anyways, I'm extremely grateful for the work you and dancrane have put into the threads, so whatever the outcome, thanks, and keep up the good work!

if i'm being honest it's probably better to keep this thread LRG centered, i mean a lot of the other similar companies don't have releases as frequentlyfrequently LRG and i'd say around 95% of the chat in this thread is aimed at what LRG are doing with the other 5% being talk about Vita or PS4, what some of the other companies/developers are teasing or possible cancellations really.

i mean you could compare it to a backwards version of the PSN thread on the other site where it was aimed at everything PSN but most of the talk was exclusively Vita

I just want to chime in and say I hope this thread is like the old one where it is primarily focused on LRG, but when notable releases happen outside of them, people are free to post them in here. Like, Undertale or Rez.

Another vote for the thread remaining primarily LRG. The old format worked well and cross posts could easily alert members to goings on in each thread.

I also prefer two threads. No need to force a decision, especially since rules about what threads are allowed are not as strict on ERA. Just see what happens organically. If the other thread is never used we can still close it later.

I have no qualms with the way the last thread was run, but I'm sure I can adjust either way.

In other news, I just finished up Asdivine Hearts, and boy was it meh. I'd recommend 90% of SNES/PS1 era JRPGs before I'd recommend AH.

I see no problem in the thread containing releases from more than 1 publisher and it makes things easier for those of us that are interested in ALL limited releases instead of those by a single publisher, its all the same thing, don't see why LRG should get their own thread that excludes other companies doing the exact same thing.

Because they had their own topic on gaf, and it was much more active than the "All limited releases" one. Major releases were shared across topics anyway.

Personally I participated in both, and I can adjust, so I don't care that much.

By the way : Owlboy will have a physical release ! We just don't know on which support, and when ^^

I voiced my opinion before, but I'll just repeat that I'd rather have this one be for LRG releases only and the other one being having a broader audience.

I think LRG has more than enough announcements, releases, and ERA user stories and comments to support its own thread. Of course there's no issues with posting the occasional news about a limited release from someone else in here too.

Yup. Let this be the LRG thread, but if something like Read Only Memories or Spelunky gets a physical release from a competitor, let people post about the news in here; not every tiny release or Japanese anime game, but the major or notable ones.

Is there another thread out there I need to be subscribed to?

Was just going to say that Velocity 2X looks like it will be January 2018 now per Best Buy.

I dont get it why the LRG Version of Broken Age for PS4 on fangamer is still available.
Its nearly a month (?) now.

Is there so less interest in this old release or does nobody know that this release is available again?

the price is well below the ebay prices.

i was really glad that i could grab a version weeks ago because i missed the original run.

Decided to look at my tracking for Skullgirls today. It arrived in my city on Saturday (CA). Checking it now, it says it is at Las Vegas NV. Wtf? Looks like I'm not getting it today.

I just mailed them about this. I also want to know if the non-Collector's edition of La Mulana will come with the 20-page manual.

So is this the thread I'd follow if I want to know when they finally put out those Sega CD/Saturn-style CD long box jewel cases?

Nope.On the LRG forum, Doug posted-

The developers created a manual in a weird size that wouldn't fit in the Vita case which is why its separate and only in the CE.

If it was made using a standard template we would of used it in the case.

I've been having issues with LRG:

Word of advice, don't use their holding service. If the invoice is accurate they sent out the wrong game (Vita version instead of PS4) and while it's not their fault that the courier has seemingly lost that package, despite paying for my games to be shipped at the start of September they won't send out another package or refund me until 60 days of no tracking updates (it has been over 6 weeks since it cleared customs and the courier hasn't responded to LRG's inquiry, it's obviously lost). I'm not ready (yet) to have a moan on the support ticket because I know the person answering the tickets does not make company policy but I will warn fellow Europeans of ERA about how shambolic LRG's holding service is and their poor customer service.

Also on top of that, if by some miracle the package turned up tomorrow and sure enough, they had sent out the wrong game, they would only send out the correct game to me when they get back the incorrect game so it would be an additional several weeks before I get the game I paid for several months ago despite it being their mistake.

Damn it, Nigoro !
I REALLY don't want to shell out $35 for an OST and a manual... it's a real shame, this game ought to have a mandatory manual :(

Oh, and there's conflicting data about Nex Machina's print run. The newsletter says : "Only 5,000 copies of the game will be available as a standard edition - 3,000 will be sold as a Collector's Edition." when the website only lists 4500 standard editions and 3000 CE. Does that mean 500 units are not listed online ?

I'm sorry you're having issues!

We are trying to make some changes to the hold service to make it easier for us and customers. We've lowered the value you can hold in order to minimize risk on our end and for you as some people have been holding games that we sold at the beginning of the year which to me is excessive.

I have the Japanese release for VA-11 HALL-A pre-ordered so I'm glad to see that the LRG release doesn't look to be using this as its cover:

...so I don't have two identical covers on my shelf.

Don't know if anybody knows about this, but it looks like Limited Run Games will be publishing Disney Afternoon Collection. The owner Josh Fairhurst dropped a couple of hints on twitter.

Tales as in DuckTales and spin from TaleSpin.

if they can do this then there's hope for a Resogun complete edition since Sony don't want to bother doing one and Housemarque do

If true, that's their first Capcom game, no? Huge get.

Woah this would be a big get.

I've been holding out hope for a physical release so I'd jump on this immediately.

That depends on LRG's relationship with Sony publishing. The Disney thing comes after Josh claimed that Capcom have been willing to work with LRG.

Give me Ultra Street Fighter 4 on ps4. Also maybe Strider (2014), it got a physical version on ps3 in Japan but the ps3 version is 30 fps while it's 60 on ps4.
Talking about ps3, if limited run games can do ps3 release, I want Street Fighter 3 : Online Edition.

I doubt that they would do PS3, but since we are getting new SNES cart games I wouldn't rule it out. Speaking of the iam8bit Street Fighter II release, does it along with this LRG news show that Capcom will be letting independent companies handle the physical releases of their smaller games from now on? They usually do everything (MM Collection 1+2, Ducktales Remastered) in house.

HAHAHAHAHA, are you freaking kidding me? My order from LRG that was supposed to correct the missing games from my first order just came in today, and instead of Asdivine Hearts, they mailed me Ys Origin AGAIN. Like, come on.

Could also be Dust an Elysian Tail though, but as much as I'd like this I like your theory better.
