Holy shit, so not timed exclusive? YES!

Edit: What I mean to say is it's coming out day and date on XB1. That's what I'm happy about.

Also yeah, I'm very interested on how the soundtrack turns out. The original is fantastic. I hope they allow the option for it or the remastered ones are on point af.

There's no such thing as multiplat timed exclusivity. Sony and Microsoft are not joining forces and wallets to keep this game out of switch. The platforms of choice in this case are entirely up to the developer/publisher unlike crash where the game was on PS4 (and PS4 only) due to a deal.
There's a contradiction in this sentence, I'd say. Even if there was a deal (seems reasonable to think so), it happened in the first place because that developer/publisher chose to release in that particular way.

In the end both situations would be identical, the only major difference being that this time, instead of opting for a soft launch on a single platform, they're going bigger, or bolder, and releasing on two systems. Either way, it's up to Activision.

Looks awesome! Played one of those just a few years back for the first time on PS3 when I was thirsty for a 3D platformer. It still played really well and if this is tweaked with good camera control, it will be an amazing experience.

I never really played these games on PS1, just never gave them a chance. Would you guys say these games have aged well and are they relatively easy or can they provide some challenge here and there?

I love it when a platformer isn't necessarily terribly hard nor easy, but has some parts where there's a good challenge, like Snake Pass but also BK.

wrong, they remade only the graphics, stop with this ignorance.

Oficial industry words >>>

and the music, the sounds effects, the controls, a completely different engine,
remade from the ground up
it literally says that in the PR release but yeah you're right the level design is the same so its not a remake. Like it doesn't matter but you brought it up so adamantly for some reason..

If you think port begging on resetera is bad, you should read the replies to the official Spyro tweet. Good god.

Yeah, the port begging and entitlement from Switch owners is really getting annoying and out of hand. In all my years of console gaming, I've never seen port begging as bad as from Switch fans.

Can we have Skylanders' version as a pre-order bonus, please?

If anything, they're right in not making a Switch version right away. The people who want to play this ASAP will have no choice but to get the PS4/X1 version and a year later you can make bank with the double-dippers. Also, since Spyro has a free-roaming element to its gameplay, maybe the Switch can't handle it? Who knows.
Huh?

This thing is getting released on the Shooter Consoles, but not on the Switch? The hell were they thinking?!
It'll come to Switch eventually. I'm sure the problem is just the power of the Switch means it'll take more work to squeeze it in to the little thing.

Also, the 'shooter consoles'?

I think the easiest way to have a big thread these days is not to announce a switch port.

Game looks great. I wish they would let us buy each game separately (even if it was more expensive like $15 for each game).

There's no contradiction and they're not the same. In one case there's a deal where the company received money to keep the game in a single platform for a limited time - you can sugarcoat it as a soft launch if you want, it's still a timed exclusive deal nonetheless. In the other, there isnt and the game released on more than one platform, just not all platforms at the same time due to choice from the dev/publisher. Not that hard to understand.

And on PC ...?

I think they are leaving them for the double dip, one for people who want 60FPS and another one who wants it portable

Colour palette seems a little... dare I say, piss-filter-y? I don't even have any Spyro nostalgia, but just going by the comparison pictures the new colours seem a lot less green and lush than the old.

Huge upgrade in every other respect, though, obviously. I've never played a Spyro game but I always wanted to back in the day, so I'll definitely check this out.

It's interesting that this isn't a problem only on ERA but on the Internet at large. But it's still against the rules here and the users here should've chilled already with their knee-jerk-ing portbegging BS.
The free-roaming must make this game a bigger technical challenge for a Switch port than Crash was, thus maybe they'll work on it more while releasing PS4/X1 versions.

Can't wait to try this out. Not port begging, but I imagine there's no Switch version due to Toys for Bob working on a Crash port for Switch. I'd say Spyro will hit that platform later.

Rolling out over the next few days, PS4™ players around the world will also be able to view the Spyro Reignited Trilogy trailer in the N. Sane Trilogy. Just go to the Warped screen and enter the code….

I don't buy it. That's gotta be a demo.

all that are superficial points, the core of game is the same, in the end of day its the same game, you known that.

the word "remake" is much more comercial shocking than "remaster" and the market team of this industry use the second term on 99% of similar cases, its not hard to understand why, but ok, ERA >> Gaming Industry standards

Those replies... Someone needs to make a switch portbeg filter.

Jesus Christ at the port begging
Why is that? Obviously, people aren't allowed to port beg here. Of course. But people are allowed to voice their displeasure of a game not coming to their console of choice where they do please. Developers deserve and need to know whether there is demand, and this is the only way things are going to change.

When told about port begging, many Resetera admins say that it is much more efficient to contact developers directly via twitter. And now that people are doing exactly that, now it's a problem?
