Not sure if this was mentioned but I noticed that the Tab Title description is refreshing every second which looks like it's reloading.

I actually noticed this for me it was random and not happening every second though. Fixed so title is only set when it's actually changed.

We're working on something along the lines of this script. No ETA on its arrival.

A wonderful script!

One annoyance is that the Alert count keeps increasing while on a thread. Is it possible to disable alerts for threads that are opened?

It's not. I disabled alerts for replies to watched topics and use unread watched page to see updated topics.

I can't even mark single alert read because that feature doesn't exist, it would always mark everything read.

It is possible to add the controls to the top of the thread too? I like to open a bunch of my watched threads and click to start loading them. Now I have to scroll to the bottom of the page to start loading them.

Is there any way we can have an option to turn off refresh unless we're on the very last page?

Loading the entire thread on page one, while just reading, is really frustrating.

Thank you so much for this script. It's awesome.

Highly agree to this.

Also, I've noticed that I've been having some issues with trying to get my settings to work. Sometimes, it won't start automatically, but other times, it will. Seems to be random or based on the thread I clicked on. Plus I wish I could completely turn off the "# new messages" marker permanently instead of doing it every time I open a thread.

Should mention I'm using the script via Tampermonkey on Chrome.

Do you get any error on javascript console?

Yes, here is what it is stating:

Try 2.8 now

Edit: missed one, fixed in 2.9 :P

Small note: Seems like maintenance broke javascript somehow, which in turn breaks script. Once site is fixed script should work too.

Long time, no update.

Version 3.1
  • Added protection against (youtube) embeds being reset, even if here are embeds, edited messages won't be overwritten without confirmation
  • Better detection of edited messages
Version 3.0 (went unreleased, due to not having time to)
  • Changed position of controls at top, to keep "watch thread" from jumping around

New version 3.4
  • Fix for new themes not loading new pages
  • Edited messages with embeds get emails decoded (or things that looks like emails)

Thanks so much for being on top of updating!

I noticed with the new layout, there's now a bar at the bottom that pops up that says "Page X" (whatever page number you're on).

Any chance of getting this to go away? Or is it something that needs to be updated on ERA's end?

Thanks again for your help.

Should be fixed in 3.5.

Bumping this thread as I have had trouble updating threads using the latest script version.

Seems to only affect the latest threads, as it works in this one.

Yeah, I have noticed some issues too, but I think it's related to server issues, so there might be nothing I can really do, but I'm keeping my eye on.

Madjoki is there any way to restore the previous position/styling of the button, such as an option within the script? The userscript just auto updated but I preferred the prior position and more compact styling.

Appreciate it's also still being maintained :)

Edit: apparently the version that auto updated isn't even the latest, oddly, it's v2.0. Also noticed the styling at the very base of the script. Think I'll just revert to the version I had before, all good.

Edit 2: wait, was I somehow using this alternative live reload userscript? I only noticed after going back through my post history. That only recently updated to 2.0 which would explain that puzzling update.

Madjoki Is there any chance this could be updated? No rush meant of course.

Seconded, live thread is an essential part of my reset experience, especially with TGA coming up so soon! Not expecting it to be updated before that though, mods/admins why'd you have to go and break this wonderful script before the TGAs :p

Also wasn't there talk around the time the site launched of incorporating a built-in live thread option? I'm guessing too much of a strain on servers to give everyone that ability by default, esp including mobile.

Huh looks like this is updated and it works. I didn't expected to be this quick.

Thanks for the heads up, confirmed working for me too.

edit: Nm getting some buggy performance here and there but who knows if that's moreso due to general site fuckery right now...sometimes get posts from pages back appearing and often it'll get stuck in an updating loop without populating new posts after a few refreshes.

Yeah, don't expect it to fully work, it was quick update and couldn't really test due to site not working at all until now.

I make no promises but I hope to have proper version this week.

Did some additional fixes to old version, it would stop updating if messages were edited.

For daring preview of new version

New version is only basic feature of loading new messages.

It also changes way new message indicator works, it's now in favicon instead of being added to front of title. It doesn't reset yet tho, but that will happen in future version.

New version also in theory uses much less bandwidth and is code-wise much less complex, but comes at costs of not supporting edits.
