Afaik you need to push the xbox button for 10 seconds constant when plugged out. To be on the save side.
Forgot to add to this one of my most requested features... the ability to get rep by just doing certain actions, and specifically for beating the voyage.
So for instance, you will get rep upon finding the treasure, killing the captain, and capturing the animal.
In order to get the money, you need to turn it in. They will give you some bonus rep on top of that. This way, if
You get attacked you don't feel like you lost EVERYTHING. You still keep that rep.
I'm still getting the error, but I'm gonna keep trying like 'I'm an average consumer', so basically I'll just keep clicking the desktop shortcut until it works. If it doesn't, for whatever reason.......... well, that's basically means 90% of PC players who got this will disappear. People don't check twitter and follow instructions like "Well just uninstall it and re-install it and check these settings". People uninstall, and forget.
Game gets right to the end of the download and errors out on the install.

Same! I love the look of it. Does anyone else know if this patch added the feature where you start with the cosmetics you had equipped last session, or has that always been around? I noticed last time I didn't have the new tankard equipped that I had recently purchased, but when I booted up this time, it was equipped.
I think this is the exact thing that needs to be done to help out with longevity. Losing your treasure to griefing or random pirate attacks would be fine, if the time you spent finding your loot at least built up to something a little bit.
I spent an hour and a half doing a three chapter quest yesterday, while also fighting off successfully a gally the whole time. On our way back with the rewards the other ship FINALLY got lucky and sank us and whoop there goes all that time spent for nothing. We sank them too so I'm the end no one even got anything.
Getting the rep upon completing a voyage and gold upon turning it in is probably the best "meet in the middle" we could hope for.
Was in yet another fierce stronghold fight. Managed to sink a galleon and board another one. Raised their anchor and set sail just to get them away from the stronghold and the boss. It seemed like they didn't realize I was an enemy at first so they let me control the ship for a small moment and I sent their ship directly into a kraken!
Got the key, looted the place and sailed away with the loot. Best experience I've had so far. RNG was on our side bigtime.

This was one of the reasons The Division lost so many players in its first few months - the way they tried to mix PvE and PvP content in their end game at the time (the dark zone) - which just led to a lot of griefing and harassment which drove players away from the game. You had squads of PvP players running around ganking other PvE players and stealing their loot. The game population didn't start to pick back up until the devs started to add end game PvE game content that did not have forced PvP in it.
Even if the game was content packed, it'll be interesting to see how the player count changes long term, it's very difficult to mix and match pve/pvp minded players in the same zone, especially when they can steal each other's loot. It's the kind of thing that drives players away en masse.

Craig Duncan of Rare already tweeted acknowledging this exact hack and said that they are working on fixing it. I don't think you get much higher up the chain than that, regarding Sea of Thieves.
Also, I think that user works on Microsoft Store, not Sea of Thieves.
Got my Steam Controller working with this last night via GloSC. It's pretty great. The game really doesn't require the precision of a mouse, and for sniper rifles you can crank the sensitivity on the trackpad and the gyro waaaaay up upon ADS to aim at a decent speed for once. Feels comfy.
Yeah I have never seen a game mix both play types successfully. I don't expect Rare to either.
server side patch later this week will resolve it.
Because rare said that non legendary status players will be allowed to go into the legendary pirate hideout and do quests with them. Which means they'll be leveling any new vendor/cosmetic as well otherwise why would you be allowed to do the legendary voyages at all?

Well, realistically it isn't going to happen. And why would they bother when they're already aware of the issue? They're not going to cause 100 other problems to solve one they're about to fix

Ha ha, I just got my first Chest of a Thousand Grogs! I didn't realize it also played "Drunken Sailor" while you carried it. It is amazing how I've gotten more gold and leveled up higher from finding random crap than I have from doing voyages.
Is there a way to chat on PC through a headset while having game audio go through the tv speakers? I use a xbox controller and the mic (not headset) and it funnels everything to the one earpiece
There is a setting on the Xbox version of Sea of Thieves for having chat audio in the headset or tv. Maybe SOT pc has a similar setting.
Not for the Solo Sloop though. I hope he attacked first.
Naw, he saw us coming and dropped anchor next to an island. Now he has no boat and no loot. Should have ran I guess.

so annoyed a ship with the skeleton fort loot slipped through my fingers because my crew quit in frustration after dying to them and the randos who loaded in wanted to fight the kraken we ran into and voted me into the brig because i sailed away from it towards the galleon
neat, finish the update, hop on to play with friends and can't even equip a weapon to my second slot and can'treplace my sword with a gun in the 1st slot. just lovely. then our ship gets raided by 2 guys and i'm getting 1 shot killed by the blunderbuss as soon as i exit the loading screen. it's like it's loading my body in before i even get out of the loading screen so the enemy is right up on me.
First impression of the patch on the 1X is good. Screen tearing the places I had run into it before seems to be gone. Performance feels similar in a good way. I did see a game crash maybe five minutes out from the starting outpost, but that's seeming like a fluke. I spawned in the wilds, so at first I thought the HDR was acting up, lol.
The worst aspect of this game is not being able to find groups to play with 95% of the time even with the Discord and Xbox Group. It's really dragging me down.
