The blue M16 > scar.

Firing this shit like a single fire is immaculate at long range.

Ehhh... willing to bet they have very similar accuracy ratins. The Scar is probably higher though. You can practically snipe with it.

Sometimes you get lucky RNG and sometimes you don't. I'm not willing to believe blue > purple until I see concrete statistics.

Not that it matters because I can't fucking play the game anymore....

Special kind of stupid when you veer off onto your own path in squad lobbies.

What's solo for again?

God I love how intense the matches feel down to the last 15. Really comes down to who has the wit and best fortress building.

And luck ofc lol.

RPGs are a joke. They should do half as much damage to players. Stupid to see so many people win by using them as close ranges weapons.

Last night we tried to stay above the circle in duos. Started building up at the second circle, which I guess was too early. We ran out of resources and fell to our deaths after someone shot down a platform. Fun, though.

Had someone try that in squads. They made a huge wide base of brick stairs. Maybe even 3 wide and 10 tall. I guess they ran out of stone because they started building the floors with wood. So we just shot the wood out and 3 fell to their deaths. The third either died to the storm or we got them later. We won that round.

I think for that strategy to work it would have to in squads. My buddy and I started with 1k wood and around 200 bricks and metal. After building up two staircases for stability we had to go into a single bridge of platforms because we started to run out. With more people we'd have had more stability and more resources.
We're definitely gonna try again when we've got at least 1 more friend with us.

Fortnite twitter teasing a MGS cardboard box style bush. I dunno about this.

On the last Giant Bombcast (or it might have been 2 ago), they were talking about how the whale thing works with Will Smith from Tested.

Apparently some F2P models are at the point where they track certain people to the point where they know (a) you drop a ton of money and (b) your trends, so they release special items for whales knowing it's a guarantee purchase.

This could be close to the same concept at this point? Where they know the highest cash intakes will tolerate that cost.

The whale concept isn't too new in video games, but it is just disappointing to see player defend it. I was looking through the replies of a tweet by the Fortnite account for a $15 pickax skin. Like, I know it is F2P, but that shit is more expensive than the last couple of games I bought. $5 for gliders is pushing it for me as well. You see that stuff for 30 seconds a game.

I said before I wanted to support the game a bit since I liked playing the Battle Royale mode, but these prices are prohibitive. Then on top of that I have to buy the premium currency which means I will probably have "change" in a currency I cannot use outside of that game and have to wait for something else I want to buy to roll around.

I understand most people's frustration with the item prices but there are only so many items available right now, I've put in 65 hours of BR and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I happily gave Epic 25 bucks worth of currency, the value I'm getting overall for my time is worth paying the high prices for items.

Great news on the 20 million players! Glad to see more people are checking out this game.

Not as great news on the bush consumable. Not sure why they're leaning into the bush strategy in this way, but we'll see how it goes I suppose. If it's got like a 15-20 second timer on it, it's probably not as big of a deal. It'll also lead to funny situations where people are disguised as a bush while inside buildings. I'm slowly selling myself on this as I type so I'm just going to stop now...

Lol that bush consumable is pretty funny. I like the direction they are going with the game. Not playing into the super serious nature of a PUBG.

They really need a consumable? You can just hide in any of them regardless.

Are the pumps better than the semis? I've seen more than enough youtubers walking past blue and purple semis.

I think this fits just perfectly. You need something like this, a hiding spot where you can really escape when someone saw you. Since you can't even lay on the ground and don't have high grass, bushes were the best thing you could do to just hide a bit if you want. I like it to play a bit more defensive and this could be perfect for when your teammates are dead and you have a 3 or 4 people squad hunting you. I don't want to have every potential confrontation end in a big shootout, no thanks, i will probably need the limited ammo for other moments. I hate it when my teammates just want to shoot on everything they see. -.-

This item will be great!

A mobile bush is huge. Changes so much about the final circles if one is in play

People will probably just put a couple of rounds into each one on general principles.

It's utility will depend on where final circle lands. Some places a bush will be Uber-ninja level disguise, others it will stick out like a sore thumb

The pump is a beast. More reliable on PC than console due to Mouse v. Sticks.

I can't be the only one having sniper bullets passing right through people without damaging them?

It's happened to me like 5 times now. I do get lag/freezing and desynch sometimes but watching the footage back I don't think those were the causes.

I've seen this happen quite often. Even the semi auto's range is pretty ridiculous imo.

No cooldown is needed. The placement is fine as-is for the skilled crafter. It's a good counter, especially when you're in a 1 on 2, or more, scenario. Wall spam to get the advantage or to make a hasty retreat.

I'm okay with a certain amount of wall spam. But when you're instantly replacing walls over and over and over, it becomes too much imo. Sometimes you're shooting walls more than you're shooting people.

edit:
Also, what is a skilled crafter? If it means spamming walls, that is not skilled at all. That is what I hope is nerfed, not building forts.

That's such a strange thing to want to nerf. Spamming walls is a legit strat to get out of dodge in some situations.

Spamming walls works. Seen the funniest getaways with dudes basically building mazes in a few seconds.

I don't think it's a strange thing to want to see toned down. I think building forts is fine, using it to make quick cover is great too. But rebuilding the same wall over and over and over makes fights more boring than it could be imo. I am not saying get rid of it, I am saying tone it down some.

Still waiting for the more zany guns. Where are the laser guns.

They might be holding back for future content perhaps?

Like a lazer raygun is sort of just a scar but with lazers. Maybe when they get to the 2nd map, which is probably long away, they'll have weapons unique to it.

I know the zapotron, which is a laser sniper rifle, was deemed unfit for the mode. Probably because they don't want a hit scan charge sniper rifle. Odd, since the RPG exists ;)

I honestly wouldn't mind these guns being one time use only for its reward. Evaporatating a person with a laser would be awesome. Or having be able to travel through multiple walls.

  • The Bush is a one-time use item that is destroyed if the player wearing it takes any damage, including damage from the storm.
  • The Bush can only be found in chests and supply drops.
