Nice! 15 minutes is tough for me for Kirin though. I think the last one I did ended in 14 minutes 50 seconds, so just barely in time.
Side note, Kusahla sucks. Even with wind resist 5 I still get pushed back all the time by his wind aura, and his tornadoes still hit like a truck
My record is 9min 50sec with Karma normal shots and sleep bombs.
Got a 4 boxes kushala too. This track event is glorious!
I think so, yes.
You can already. There are three tiers of tempered monsters. T1 becomes available after you finish the main quest (perhaps even before, I'm not sure), T2 becomes available after the Double Tempered Bazel quest and T3 (elder dragons) become available at HR50.
You unlock them by gathering tracks of tempered monsters. This can only be done during expeditions or during tempered monster investigations. They're easily recognizable due to the scoutflies turning blue instead of green when they pick up a tempered track. There are a couple of spots in each level with a nice amount of tempered tracks around. Take for instance the Coral Highlands:
Pink Rathian, Kirin and Legiana are usually just one or two per expedition, but Tempered Paolumu tracks are more numerous. Gather them all, return to Astera, go back to the Coral Highlands, gather all tracks again, rinse and repeat.
Alternatively, you can do the double tempered Bazel quest. Ignore the two Bazels and instead go after their tracks.
As per mentioned above, you need artillery 3 and capacity boost for impact phials. Artillery 3 charm is the way to go... (because Artillery jewels are Rare 8 jewels).you can still mix and match with others pieces.
Capacity boost is definitely required, but this skill annoys me....not because it's useless (on the contrary, it's a MUST), but because all the armor pieces with Capacity Boost is so god damned ugly!!
As a Charge Blade main, i highly recommend the Focus 3 skill. Usually, a single charged sword attack followed by the spinning slash is enough to charge to red phial. Without Focus 3, you'll need to charge attack twice. This has really cut down my hunt times.
You're guaranteed decorations (and/or streamstones) from tempered investigations, from normal ones you're not. Generally you want to run normal investigations for materials, tempered for decorations. Thanks! Will get on that. I have to wonder though, what is the progression from here? What do the Tempered Monsters give me that the HR ones do not? Better decorations?
You're describing my journey with this game. 240 hours and counting, I can't recommend it enough.Hey all, how is the game for someone who never played MH before and playing solo/with randoms? Worth picking up?

I think you need the Nulify Wind Pressure set bonus from the Kushala armor to beat the wind aura.Nice! 15 minutes is tough for me for Kirin though. I think the last one I did ended in 14 minutes 50 seconds, so just barely in time.

It's like the other statuses. Based on your blast stat and motion value of the move your using. Once you have applied enough blast to hit the threshold...boom. Shouldn't have anything to do with your attack number.Hmm, I'll have to try it out then. Blast is my favourite status to apply but I don't fully understand the mechanics behind it. Is it based on the amount of damage you do or the amount of hits? Like what counts towards the buildup?
six more to go to complete my crowns. I don't even feel like trying the jho event as I've gotten the hero stones I want. I just want my crowns dammit T-T
They're displayed in your field guide and in your guild card (I think).Do you have a special strat for crowns? I just realized that with all my hours I have like 4 gold crowns but I don't remember if there where any more gold for the ones I already have, I guess I should start keeping record of gold crowns since I assume there is no in game total counter.
Thanks. Also, is it possible to mount Xeno?

Exact same thing happened to me. Full health, with food buffs, I roll off a hill with a hammer so I'm spinning in midair, he goes for that wing ground drag move which connects with me and the game immediately tells me I've fainted.Wtf, was fighting tempered Nergi and I was at full health and suddenly I was one shot in mid air. Don't even know what hit me cuz I was above him.
I got 1 shot with 460 or so. It was the head slam that stole my soul. The rest were usually a combo of a slam into breath. That's just weird. I could take 3 hits without healing with 435 Def. I was fully expecting to get one shotted after reading a ton of posts talking about that.
Can't speak to post-patch, but in my first set of tempered elder investigations after getting past Kirin, I got a weakness exploit deco and a critical element deco. Felt good after a million Palico Rally decos, haha.
Yeah, it's really weird, especially when the HR29 assigned quest has you fight two Tempered B52s and then you lose access to that quest afterwards. One thing that's been bothering me lately, is why we don't have more quests that have 2 (or more) of the same monster on the map. In previous games I loved doing quests that involved, let's say 2 or even 3 Rathalos in a single quest because it was a great source for farming general materials and getting rare drops. I hope these types of quests get added later, or patched in for investigations.
Investigations with Gold and Silver rewards, multimonster events. I use youtube as a resource for what the crown monsters should look like, I go in to the quest, if it matches or is close enough I go for the kill, if not I just abandon and repost the quest. make sure to exhaust the investigation because you never know when the crown monster will show up, it could appear in the first run or the last one (sometimes not at all.) its a grind but I've decided to make MH my first platinum so I can't give up T-TDo you have a special strat for crowns? The Kirin crown is driving me nuts ... 34 killed so far ... got 67 azure horns in my box ... lol.

I'm mostly salty because I need over 20 Kadachi claws and 30 Anja fang + for weapons. Would be much easier if I had an investigations for each where 2 were on the map at the same time.Yeah, it's really weird, especially when the HR29 assigned quest has you fight two Tempered B52s and then you lose access to that quest afterwards.
At least I wouldn't mind investigations with two of the same monster.
Why are you killing it if you just want a crown? If you see it's normal sized, just leave the quest! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯The Kirin crown is driving me nuts ... 34 killed so far ... got 67 azure horns in my box ... lol.

Thx for the measurement tip, I have a small crown already. I kill it, because I don't want to waste tempered investigations ;)
Tekku
What weapon are you using? I did him ony with ranged weapons so far, mostly with LBG. There were quests where he didn't hit me once, but he also killed me. For a tempered I eat 6x veggie for elemental res L, for a normal investigation I don't even bother ...
After a while you'll know when and where he strikes his attacks, only when he does his arrogant "Don't give a fuck"-walk the lightning seems random. Palico has the sleep weapon, so he gets 2 mega barrel bombs mid-fight and 2 after he gone to sleep.
I watched speedruns to learn when to attack but i still can't prevent him to flee. But it's a good bombing opportunity, so no regrets ... I also kind of mastered the way up to his sleeping place O_o
Best tip I have: fight at night, it is so much easier to see the long lightning thingies he doesn from time to time ... and if you see a gajalaka sitting on a rock, lure him to the guy for some extra damage :)
Stop it! Focus on Progression!/s
Just complaining because Giant crown Teostra doesn't exist in my game!!!!!! It's the only crown left I need and it will not happen. I've slayed well over 50 giant sized Teos, quit out of countless other investigations with average or small sized ones, and my silver crown is only 30 bloody points off a gold, it's just cruel at this point!
Me too. Wildspire Wastes would be a fun choice.Itd be cool if they changed the location of tempered jho every couple of days for this event.. . I'd like to fight it somewhere besides the ancient forest at this point.
