My Tips & Tricks reddit post: https://redd.it/4d0xkn

1. Remember that there are 2 sell times and you need about an hour depending on your luck each time. I would try for both times and not rely on thinking you can get the ticket on just one time. Seattle: 10 AM and 10 PM PST
2. Make a Ticketmaster.ca profile and download the Ticketmaster app if you haven't already: iOS, Android. The apps are highly recommended.
3. Find some stable internet, preferably home internet on a physical connection or somewhere secure like a University or government wifi spot
4. Have your payment method handy - American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Sears MasterCard Canada, and Ticketmaster gift cards and there is a 15 minute timer to complete your transaction

Got my Finals tickets in cart, then got both my cards declined for fraud protection because CANADA. Then they expired, RIP.
Should probably be an adendum to the OP:

CALL YOUR BANKING INSTITUTION IN ADVANCE OF MAKING INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES.

Otherwise, the likelihood of a decline is high.

Good days.

Cheaper than last year tho?

I didn't go last year either. I'm not spending an arm and a leg for a ticket. It's not even the price; it's the principle. I don't see $200 or $250 worth of value here for 2 days of events.

Reminder you can just buy tickets really close to event date without problem and scalped tickets are like <2% probably or whatever

Hmmm.

I might look at tickets again then.

Maybe.

So you're flying to Seattle then taking a train to Vancouver?
Yes, It ended up being like $150 cheaper doing that since there are no direct flights to Vancouver from Alaska. Round trip flight was $250, and the train was $40 each way. (edit: there is the Bolt Bus too, which is like $20 each way between the two, I just wanted to ride a train lol)

Most expensive part will be lodging, prices were insane when I was looking back when the dates were announced, but I found a nice looking airbnb only three blocks from a SkyTrain stop so I'll be set, as much as I would have preferred to stay downtown the entire time.

And stuff in Canada is so cheap right now as a US person, just did a week long trip for some hockey games in February. Slightly higher "sticker" price on stuff, but then you factor in the exchange rate and it ended up being much cheaper than I would have thought otherwise.

I see.

Yea, for me the round trip out of Miami is $400 which isn't so bad. But lodging is like $150-$250/night. Then the $200 weekend ticket. Just not sure if I'm in the mood for a $1,000 trip. ~$800 or so is the threshold where I start questioning most purchases, or in this case whether I should go or not (not the price; the principle of spending that much to watch people play video games for 2 days). If I could hit around or below that mark, I'd probably go again. I'd like to see Vancouver. But if not, I could just throw that money into a Vive Pro and enjoy TI in VR again in even higher definition. That's always amaze.

you mean when people were going just to raid to secret shop and scalp fucking everything
TI1 was free
TI2 was also free-ish
TI3 was $50
TI4 was when it started getting expensive with the multiple dates/seating types.

I think TI2 and TI3 was when people went to raid the Secret Shop.
You could like octuple your money with couriers.

it was mainly TI3, sold out in like thirty seconds and the game frankly had not grown much since the previous TI so you know why

Guess I'll try for round 2? I live in Victoria, so it's a pretty quick ferry + bus ride over to Van.

Got finals tickets after thinking I had missed out. Phone went through to confirmation page and failed, desktop did not fail but showed no tickets for like 5+ mins.

Oh and then I wake up this morning and check my email and see that ticketmaster charged me for a second finals ticket at 3:30 AM, 6 hours after they went on sale last night...

Need to call them though, since the order looks strange as fuck (Shipping method is "Delivered in April 2008"....) If the order is legit though, I might end up having a 2nd finals ticket that I could give to someone here for face value. Again, need to confirm that I have it before setting up the giveaway.
