This character is Inari (a goddess from the Asian folklore), she is the messenger of the gods and talks to the fox. She would help the player in the game and also require the player's help because she is trapped by technology.
Interesting, may have to keep an eye out for this. The change of pace from being a Gibson-esque hacker character in such a world is intriguing, and that forest scene is a nice dichotomy

Wow, I remember its first game when I was using my Desura account.
Good game in my opinion. A little bit short and the ending wasn't so shocking like some other similar games.

The sequel is bigger and more complex with mini-games and puzzles, and I had much more time and money this time around :)
The focus groups went really well so I am already happy with the overall results so I think the fans that liked the first one will really enjoy the sequel (or so I hope).
