I bought it with a friend. We've used nowtv a lot in the past.Anyone in the UK going for this, or holding out witH one last free season on C4, perhaps topped up with a few weekend passes?
I think I will be going for the nowtv deal at some point this week because it will also enable me to see some premier league football matches up until Dec.
No, it's the full Sky Sports platform.
Blimey to think Sky viewers last year were only 652,000 whilst Channel 4 was 1.9 million. Really makes F1 an elite sport (well, by 2019 in could get a lot worse). the £150 NowTV deal is tempting but I don't know. For someone who's watched F1 since the late 70's paying such a premium really grates. Kinda' just...wrong.
Korea was where he lost the title IMHO. With a win there I think the team would've shifted focus to him (rather than Vettel) for the remainder of the season, and that would've been enough to secure the title.Mark was hard done by which I'll get into later, but he fucked up too. His slow starts often compromised chances to win at the front, the crash in Korea was his fault, and the poor qualifying in Abu Dhabi put his chance away.
In Belgium we've had active drivers.I don't think that being fresh out of F1 is that relevant in terms of insight quality. Here in Brazil we have Luciano Burti (an irrelevant F1 driver) and Max Wilson (who was no more than a test driver 20 years ago) and their insights are very good usually. Barrichello, on the other hand, was kind of bad (he didn't last long on TV). :P
I can imagine the mental stress is completely different as a commentator. Does he need to be there for the full race weekend too like he did as a driver? So Rosberg wanted time with his family, but now he'll be travelling everywhere just like the drivers? I know he doesn't have to work simulator, attend PR gigs and all that stuff but it's still a time consuming job.
And what do the advertisers and sponsors think? They pay millions for how many bums on seats? Any chance they may simply look at the figures and think "Hang on, we're not getting much coverage" and pull out, there-by making it harder for teams (usually the lower ones) to get money. And it's only that low because the majority of the races aren't live nor show practice etc. I don't know, if it were closer to 1 million on Sky I would say it was a success. But how can Formula 1 grow its fan base with such paltry numbers? Honestly, carrying on like this in 20 years or so they'll be significantly less viewers and lower crowd numbers because they'll all be dead (I'm 48 for example)! That's "only" 652k viewers who are paying for it.
1.9 million that is free with anyone that has a license and an aerial to pick up signals is a poor number in comparison.
Now TV have a great package for UK-era F1 peoples. https://www.nowtv.com/watch-f1-online I still think *other* than race commentary, I prefer the channel 4 talent team.
Rocking up to do a Saturday and Sunday is a lot less work than being an actual driver. Especially the effort it took for him to sabotage so many of Hamiltons engines that year :PSo Rosberg wanted time with his family, but now he'll be travelling everywhere just like the drivers? I know he doesn't have to work simulator, attend PR gigs and all that stuff but it's still a time consuming job.
The numbers are terrible when you consider that at times the BBC coverage could pull in 6m viewers. Though I seem to recall that the new boys have already said that the deal they inherited from Bernie for viewership in the UK is terrible as far as they are concerned because its behind a paywall from 2019 till 2024.That's "only" 652k viewers who are paying for it.

And just like everything else, it seems to be coming way too late in the day.Looks like Liberty is entering the fantasy game market: https://fantasy.formula1.com/
I think it's been labeled by Liberty as soon for computers and later on for mobile devices so I wouldn't expect them to be ready for Albert Park, unfortunately. Is the streaming service going to launch....or? Have I missed something?

Eh, I honestly can't say the at the change from v8 to v6 has caused the drop (with relation to the noise which is what I guess you mean?).Yep. Both the BBC and ITV were regularly pulling in 3m per race, going up to 8 to 8.5m in the Prime Time races (USA, Interlagos). You can pull the Sky numbers aside, but that doesnt account for 400k viewers on average compared to those days - and a lot of that can be put down to the shitty show that F1 is putting on. The move away from V8s was terrible for that.
Rosberg is also a good driver who really practiced hard to beat Lewis.
this is not meant to be bait lol
Still going to consume oil though isn't it.The oil smoke could be a trick. Use a leaky turbo that accidentally leaks oil into the engine.
Burning oil isn't illegal. You're just not allowed to vent it into the airbox and the limit is stricter.
I know its not illegal, but they can only burn 600ml per 100km, and they weren't producing any smoke at all last year when the limit was much looser. To deliberately change your design so that you are now pointing a huge arrow at your engine because plumes of smoke fall out of the exhaust, when its an area where the FIA can and will happily drop the limit even further just seems daft. It sure as shit isn't the petrol making the smoke.Burning oil isn't illegal. You're just not allowed to vent it into the airbox and the limit is stricter.
We don't know what is causing it, but one factor pointed out is that Ferrari's outlet is far from the exhaust and much colder than the other engines where the outlet is heated by the exhaust. That could be a big factor as the others might have a similar amount coming, just evaporated.I know its not illegal, but they can only burn 600ml per 100km, and they weren't producing any smoke at all last year when the limit was much looser. Very talented field this year. I reckon at least 5 drivers will contend for the championship.
He's a Ferrari junior, maybe he's trying to endear himself to the Tifosi lol. Marino Sato is Japanese but is listed as Sanmarinese. Robert Schwartzman isn't exactly a typical Russian name either."Marcus Armstrong (ITA)"
That has to be the most unItalian name in history. Even googling I found he's from New Zealand and raced in a New Zealand series. I'm really curious lol

I think it is tied to the racing license, don't quote me on that.Ferrari junior I noticed, yes. Can they just declare any nationality they want? I realize it's not a big deal like a passport obviously but it just feels weird lol
