Fencing. I've been fencing for a long time now, and it's the most fun sport with the most welcoming community. Would recommend it to anyone, it's never too late to start :) at the club we have people who started fencing as kids and people who started fencing at 60. It's just such a fun sport. I've two loves in my life, my fiancee and fencing. And I met my girl through fencing :P

Football, as in, American Football.

Fun Fact: the term "Soccer" derives from "Association Football", and originated in the UK

Ummmm. Also Competitive Laser tag. Not to be confused with Fantasy style of play. But also mainly just for this hilarious/sad video that I always bring up to everyone I know.

Swimming. Born and raised on the islands so I was basically doing that since I was little even joined the swim team in highschool when I moved to the mainland. It's definitely something I very much enjoy especially if I can swim in a big body of water.

Badminton is super fun and extremely underrated in the United States. Speed, agility, power and precision. Only been playing 3 or so years but it's been a blast. Wish I had discovered it younger.

(When I say "badminton" it implies indoor courts, not the thing white people do at picnics. Even a little wind can ruin the game.)

I'm a diehard Leafs fan, and also like baseball and lacrosse, but not nearly as much. I detest the WWE and UFC, and am indifferent to most other sports.

Genuinely curious. What can you tell me about your experience that makes you feel it has the 'most welcoming' community, especially compared to other communities?

I feel like I should love watching Hockey, but I can't fucking tell what's going on when I do watch it.

I know people make fun of the glow-y puck thing they tried years back, but honestly I wonder if I could get into it with that.

Is it easier or harder to keep track of in person?

Much easier, I think because you can track it easier without camera wobble added into the mix.

The added impact of watching it in person means when you do watch it on video, you have a better idea of how to track it.

Rugby League

Only because the rules says pick one but I'm partial to pretty much all any sport.

I'll have to see if I can catch a game at some point. My local team is an ECHL team, so I guess I won't be expecting amazing Hockey, but if I can keep up with it that's already a step-up from my experience with televised NHL

ECHL is much slower paced than NHL, so it's a good starting point. Definitely worth a look, it's worth sticking with though, once you get used to watching where the puck is, it becomes second nature and you start watching plays developing.

Shit, I forgot about this one. Changing my answer to this.

Hockey and tennis, though I don't watch either terribly often.

Will never stop being amusing how irrationally angry Brits get when a sport derived from rugby football gets called football.

Judo, it is very complete in that strength, technique and stamina are all very advantageous and allow (on the low level I am doing it) for very varied approaches to the sport (of course, pro judoka need to excel in all three areas). Not so fond of changing the rules every other year though.

My most favorite sport is Handball (to play and to watch). Played competitively for some years until a nasty injury.

I also like football, American football and basketball. I occasionally watch cricket as well.

Hockey and Tennis. The latter of which to play as I've never ice skated in my life.

Cricket!

It has everything: hitting shit with a bat, running, catching, throwing, teamwork, dexterity, strength, speed...the only thing it doesn't have is tackling. Even then, I have seen some brutal injuries caused by a cricket ball hitting someone at 80 miles an hour.

Only one? This is tough. Probably surfing or snowboarding as I do both.

However I also really like watching downhill MTB and Ice Hockey.

I enjoyed playing football until I realized that it hurt *too much* for something that was supposed to be fun. I can still enjoy the game, but NBA basketball is definitely my number one.
