I just discovered the show today and have watched the first two episodes so far. A lot of fun, looking forward to watching more.
Just one thing kind of bothers me: There is a strong emphasis (so far) on using garnets to persuade people, but garnets seem incredibly useless. The winner of the game gets them all and the losers get none, so what does it matter who holds on to them at any time? The winner will ultimately still get them all. Am I missing something here?
It would make sense if you were able to keep whatever garnets you have when you lose, but the way it is set up it just seems weird.
That makes a lot more sense, thank you. I just had that nagging feeling that I was not getting something. I don't know if they mentioned that fact so far but it's good to know.In the later rounds when the garnets start piling up you can use them to get advantages in the games themselves.
I've only watched the first season but already want there to be more beyond the four that they made.I've watched all of the genius. Society game and most of crime scene. I don't know what to watch now.
I've just been rewatching season 1 of the genius lol. Any recommendations ? I think Netflix would kill it if they made crime scene and the genius.

After the interminable decades that were early anime fandom, I can't believe I've decided to get into another form of entertainment that leaves me waiting and searching for elusive subtitles. I'm a lover of poker, so this sounds great. There's enough Korean content on Netflix, whats deals need to be made to get most of these shows on there(Genius, etc..)? It seems like a no brainer. There is this new show featuring Jinho vs Johwan (and other people) that is MC'd by Dongmin where they battle each other playing poker.
Not subbed yet, and obviously doesn't have the big scope (or budget) of The Genius, but if it eventually gets subbed it could be fun (someone on reddit said he got goosebumps in the most recent eps).
I wonder if it is for the nightmare that would be licensing all tha music. I know some of the korean shows on Netflix dub the music with generic tracks or simply skip sections of the show, which is far from ideal. After the interminable decades that were early anime fandom, I can't believe I've decided to get into another form of entertainment that leaves me waiting and searching for elusive subtitles. Oh God yes, what am I even thinking? Moby would get PAID. Yeah, the songs would definitely have to go, unfortunately.I wonder if it is for the nightmare that would be licensing all tha music.
