They don't make cartoons for kids anymore.

I'm not sure I really get this. Cartoons were never for kids outside of the "preschool" stuff you see these days.

That's some lifeless, bland animation

This is objectively wrong on every level.

Can we really not just say NeoGAF? lmao

There's no RULE persay (aside from avoiding bringing any drama from that place), it just sort of caught on to call it things like The Old Country, The Forum that Must Not Be Named, or The Old Place. It's fun.

Oh, it's actually on Youtube alone? Is the series fully on YT? I didn't know if it was aired somewhere else before going on YT.

Disney has a video streaming app too, but I think it's limited to the US. Youtube is easy and region free. They sporadically air them on Disney Channel/Disney XD if you have a DVR. The only thing you're missing are the extended 30 minute specials, Duck the Halls (Christmas Special) and the Halloween Spooktacular which you can buy on a 2-in-1 DVD or on iTunes (recommended because it's HD). A third special is in the works for later this year.

I love these shorts. The foreign language ones and any with call backs to the parks are my faves (the Jungle Cruise themed one with the monkey Mickey; POTATOLAND)

When i am on vacation at WDW and taking a break from the heat in my resort room, i turn on the channel that shows nothing but these shorts.

I saw the first one of these when it started a few years ago but haven't seen a single one since. Kind of excited to jump in.

Can we drop the conversation thread about what media adults are allowed to consume please?

Keep things on topic. Thanks.

I really really love the fact that the cartoons in languages other than english aren't subtitled. They communicate a tremendous amount non-verbally. I'm not an animation buff or anything, but it seems like a masterclass in expression as well as design efficiency.

Yea I watched the soccer game one last night and it was great.

I've seen a few of these before due to threads on the other forum, but watched 6 or so last night. Really good stuff. I'll try to watch the rest tonight.

The work they're doing with these is amazing! I hope one day there's a documentary about how this series came about and how the creative process works. I love the colorful art style and how freely they go crazy with such classic characters. My favorite Goofy shorts:

The Feliz Cumpleanos episode is one of the best pieces of Animation in history, the comedic timing, the art, the entire concept. Its so fucking surreal, so ridiculous in its nature as a Mexican themed episode, but its exactly where it should be, a perfect humorous 3 minutes, with a dark punchline. And mickey growing a moustache when duty calls is never not funny.
Edit: The turkish delight episode is also a pisser:

Its friggen hilarious, the writing and animation are so on point. Mickey is great as a well meaning dumb ass and goofy is generally hilarious as well. I love the episodes that take place in other countries and use their language

Just watched the clip in the OP, that's actually hilarious... I love it! Humor in the golden age of cartoons wasn't exactly tame, I think this captures the spirit of those old ones with a modern flair, if a little more hectic

With the half hour holiday tv specials last year on tv and the ride it really seems like this version of Mickey is becoming the official version of Mickey.

I love how they aren't all just in English. I loved the train one and the elephant one as well.

They're insane in just the right way.

I can't imagine that. I guess the comparison for this board would be Mario. He is going to be bright and glossy for a long time.
They been slowly switching over to the black eyed classic Mickey design from this show in logos and merchandise of late. The ride is the biggest explaination point so far. It does seem to be an intentional push from Disney.

I forgot these existed, glad they're still at it. Im still not 100% a fan of some of the Flash-like tweening here and there but theyre hilarious top to bottom.

I think the standard black eyed design still has been a mainstay in park product. I just don't think they would update his primary image.

I mean the yearly holiday tv specials are really the primary media he has of late and use these too.

The official Mickey Mouse mobile app from Disney and the official Mickey Mouse YouTube channel use this design for their logos too.

It's been a pretty big push from Disney I would say in terms of pushing this design.

It's a perfect example of how to take an old property from a different age and bring it back while making it more suited for modern times.

They have a different voice actor for this Mickey compared to the one in Mickey Mouse Club House/Kingdom Hearts 3D right?

Before we begin, let's make sure we're all on the same page here. I'm not talking about Mickey Mouse or Disney in general, no... I mean the latest Mickey Mouse series that just got the green light for season 5.

I've never seen a single person talk about this show, and admittedly I've only watched the stray episode once or twice but I'm always left speechless on how this got made.

For those that can't watch the video, this is what would happen if John Kricfalusi (Ren and Stimpy creator) wrote and directed Mickey Mouse cartoons. Maybe not quite that surreal... but pretty damn close. Though it has the gross out and randomness nearly on par.

I'm truly at a loss on whether this is an awesome or awful interpretation from what I've seen. I've genuinely had a few laughs, but I've had just as many "oh... that's off putting".

Looks like Goofy's having a rough time of it. But I'm sure he'll be fine.

For some reason I remember hearing about when this show was announced, but I had no idea it actually started airing a long time ago.

I would probably do things I would be ashamed of for a blu-ray of these.

Maybe that'll happen when the ride using this style opens at WDW.

It's probably been mentioned already but the great movie ride at Hollywood Studios was closed last year to be replaced with a Mickey Mouse ride based on this version of the cartoon.

I'm excited
