In what way?Jackbox 4 would have been on the poll and likely won even with the old method, much like 3 did.

- Gang Beasts is ok. But if people keep bringing poll losers again it's easier to make a Group Stream Queue
- Jack Box Party Pack 4 is an obvious choice, but I think it would lose easily if the poll had better options.
- Secret Hitler... is ok. I just don't get why people are always going for tabletop games. Wish it was more rare.
- Space Channel 5... I don't know if a new stream can capture the magic of Fancy 15. The surprise and it ending just at the right time to make us want more made it a really good 15 min game. I'm not sure a 2 hour stream will get us to that high again.

My current top 10 for GotY is

1. Horizon Zero Dawn
2. Persona 5
3. Uncharted TLL
4. Yakuza 0
5. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
6. What Remains of Edith Finch
7. Destiny 2
8. Yakuza Kiwami
9. Dishonored Death of The Outsider
10. Mass Effect: Andromeda

Still waiting to play Resident Evil 7 until I get my PSVR hopefully this month and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I'm almost positive both will be in my top 10.

I went for Jackbox, the gang always seem to enjoy the games and they make for fun streams. My Yakuza Vs Minigame proposal ended up in 6th :(

This would make an amazing stream. I demand an EZA Yakuza 0 dance off.

I'm usually bad with checking in on the suggestions, but I'll give you a vote if you suggest it again next week.

So apparently sonic forces is 4 hours long, story heavy and awful. Soo...full playthrough?

Wow, Ben is reviewing a lot of games, bless him. Thanks, looking forward to the review.
Not just reviewing also playing(and this bringing a huge variety of game topics to frame trap) it's actually insane. Big props.
2018 needs to actually chill out I don't wanna feel bad asking Ben to continue Trails in the Sky.

Yeah it always amazes me how many different games he's playing at any given time. I tend to get overwhelmed juggling three or more games and try to force myself to focus on one or two instead. But with Ben it seems like he's always on top of all of the new releases and trying to give them all a fair shake.

He quoted 5 hours of gaming per day on the Paper Mario stream if I remember correctly.

My GOTY so far

1. Nier Automata
2. Persona 5
3. Divinity Original Sin 2
4. Yakuza 0
5. Breath of the Wild
6. Horizon Zero Dawn
7. Super Mario Odyssey
8. Nioh
9. Destiny 2
10. Tekken 7

I have still yet to play Wolfenstein TNC, Resident Evil 7, Evil Within 2, Yakuza Kiwami, Gravity Rush 2, Cuphead, Shadow of War, AC:O, Sonic Mania, FFXII HD, Crash.

Not including Stormblood, if I were, I'd probably drop it in after P5.

If I managed to get through all of those, I can see Odyssey barely making the cut.

My contenders:
Persona 5
Yakuza 0
Ys VIII
Gravity Rush 2
Zelda BotW
Horizon ZD

Likely, but haven't played yet:
Danganronpa V3
Xenoblade 2

Finished Wolfenstein 2. It took me a while to get into the gameplay groove with this one and I loved the first game. By the mid point it finally clicked and I had a blast. But the real star of this game is the story, characters, and top tier writing.

I nominate BJ for protagonist of the year.

So in the last month I worked off TEW2, Mario Odyssey and Wolfenstein 2.

Remaining games I'd like to get to in 2017

Horizon
Edith Finch
Persona 5
Divinity Origin 2

Next up.....Horizon! Zelda took over my game time when it came out and I hadn't been able to catch up yet. So time to fix that

Wanted to vote secret Hitler, but looks like it needs 2 streams just to understand these stupid rules.

Resistance:Avalon is the same thing, but much simpler and would be way more fun.

Voted gang beasts.
As someone who has only played it recently, I don't think it's more complicated. Although I'd only explain the main mechanic to the audience. Also I think it's faster to play.

Brad cheering for Ghost of Tsushima during the poscast was hilarious, pretty much my reaction as well.

Ahahaha, oh man. I saw them go live and nothing on the schedule, so I was wondering what was going on.

Better luck tomorrow Ben!

I feel sorry for Ben but it did make me laugh that he got up on the wrong date. Didn't the NOA announcement have thw wrong date in it?

Anyway since he went to all trouble I will watch the Direct tomorrow on his stream.
Also because he has been keeping the Xeno hype alive since the unveil

Wow this thread is moving fast! Great to see everybody moved over and some of the Allies as well. The other place is pretty much a ghost town now.

Even though I'm a Patron I hardly ever post anywhere. Just enjoy reading you guys argue over trivial things and like seeing some of the Allies casually drop by as well. L&R

Checked this thread just to see if there was going to be a Xeno Direct stream. Good to know that there will be and lol @ Ben getting the date wrong.

Is Mario really the most influential and biggest game of the year lol?

I mean sure it's great but I don't think it's influencing anything or doing anything "new" that other Mario games haven't done before.
Note: Im on what I think is the last world of the main story but I haven't finished it yet.

Even on switch I think BOTW more fits that bill. It's completely changed how open world games can be, climbing anywhere etc.

Is anyone else as puzzled as my why the allies are hyping up Mario to this level? Yes it's a great game 10/10, but so are many others this yearm

BotW is far and away more interesting and 'revolutionary' for its respective series (and genre, imo) than SMO. But ultimately, comparing them outright is a little unfair as is comparing many games of different genres. I love them both, but BotW sort of changed the way I think about games and debilitated my interest in any other open world games, whereas Mario is an incredibly polished and tight platformer that just feels so gd good it's ridiculous. I have some issues with Mario after 100%ing but that's besides the point. The most interesting comparison between SMO and BotW to me is how they utilize their existing legacies to invoke nostalgia in ways I hadn't really seen before. The end of New Donk City is a great example of this.

It was just Kyle who said that, not all of the allies. I couldn't tell if he was being completely serious there (you never know if you're in a bit with Kyle), but Damiani said that was a bold statement or something along those lines iirc.

1. Zelda Breath of the Wild
2. Persona 5
3. Super Mario Odyssey
4. Nioh
5. Yakuza 0

I didn't get to play half of the games I wanted to this year, but I was able to compile a solid Top 5.
Would have loved to play Horizon, Nier, Uncharted LL, Wolfenstein 2, Assassins Creed Origins, and others.

Everything past that is all kind a crowd (Nier, Wolf, etc), but those were the games for me this year that are the contenders. Unfortunately I don't have a Switch yet so I didn't get to play Zelda or Mario, but I hope to soon!

The Deep North
Caught up on Friend Code and some interesting NPD chat. I agree with the Allies that LA Noire will likely be the ugly duckling of the November Switch releases, partly due to lack of hype but also because it requires an SD card for the Day One patch. I still think Skyrim will end up highest of the new releases despite its rrp.

The mention of Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker reminded me to ask EZA Era: does anyone have a link to the discussion that kicked the CTTT debate off? I remember watching Kyle argue about puzzle games but can't remember where or when I saw it. TIA.

Out of all the games I've played this year, this would be my list:

1. Nier Automata
2. DJMAX Respect
3. Gravity Rush 2
4. Yakuza 0
5. Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session

I still haven't played Zelda, Mario, Horizon, Dragon Quest Heroes 2, Wolfenstein, or The Evil Within though, and I'm sure one of those would throw Taiko no Tatsujin off the list.
