Just one month more for me and I'm so hyped.

Our seats should be good but I might ask for a cushion for my partner just so I can poke fun at her feet not touching the ground haha.

Haha go for it, it's funny to see people around you almost at your level or at your level cause of a cushion. Oh and the seats are comfortable enough, I'd read a few people whining on theatre-land forums. You should have a great time :)
Some stuff in the store tends to go Out of Stock. and don't even bother with the oyster card holder.

Oh now I really want an Oyster holder...

I need to get my partner to listen to the soundtrack before we watch the show, I typically explain things to her during cinema (especially if they're cultural references) but I don't want to do that here. I want to fight the urge to sing to the entire musical haha.

Surprised my girl with tickets to Hamilton for Christmas in front of the broadway theater in December. A security guard watched it happen and saw her crying (from reading the card I wrote, not the tickets lol) and pulled us to the side and gave us backstage passes to hang out with the cast. One of my favorite plays/experiences. Such an amazing show.

I just scored tickets for the Harry Potter Broadway show through the ticket lottery. How is it?!

The card holder didn't feel great quality but the keychain, lapel pins and magnets are quite decent. I'm not one for tote bags or apparel. Think the books are 30 and 20 for hardback and paperback resp.

edit: Oh and get her to listen to the soundtrack beforehand because honestly as a friend and I discussed, the soundtrack won't compare to live so it should enhance the experience :)

I'm likely to buy the books from Amazon or get them as a gift... Regardless, after the show we will be eating that amazing Bleecker St burger.

Did anyone dress up? Like, in old fashioned clothes?

It's not as cold as it could've been but it was pretty cold might be why most weren't dressed up. There was maybe one person I saw dressed up, but generally people were pretty casual. Ah yes Bleecker was mostly empty and quick service, I had somewhere else to go but I will say that ShakeShack was ridiculously crowded for whatever reason. Everyone seemed to head there.

ShakeShack imo is absolutely terrible. But they supply the cast with food. I will never understand their popularity.

Bleecker St is God tier but the Victoria one doesn't do the medium rare anymore
you can get them to make it for you if you look like you can keep a secret
.

The Bleecker Black is the best damn burger I have ever had.

Shakeshack is rubbish but if you're by tottenham court road and looking for a quiet place to chill before round 2 of a night out or a random quick conversation in the area around 11pm it's fine. I have no idea why people just crowded by the Victoria one. I mean there's nothing crazy there. Oh yeah you're right about Bleecker street but I never really thought of asking at Victoria, thanks for the tip. If you can time things Flat Iron is still a great pre-theatre experience. It's usually a hit with people visiting too.

Omg omg omg...

Very short review

OMFG

I cried for so many reasons, mostly because it was probably the best thing I've seen in my entire life.

The main Hamilton was performing despite it being matinee. Go was AMAZING. But here's the things, now I gotta get my complaints out of the way...

I'm not too sure about the Burr. He was a bit camp for my liking even thought he has the best songs in the whole show he was the weakest.

And... (I can't remember the names sorry) but the Lafayette/Jefferson was incredible as Jefferson but was clearly no Daveed Diggs as Lafayette.

Outside of that...

It was AWESOME WOW

...

XD and I managed to get the oyster card holder, book and shot glass. I am trying to buy more tickets ASAP haha.

Oh yeah, and the King George was simply perfect.

Did you see it at Seattle? My wife ruined our finances by seeing it twice, and she saw both the understudies and the main cast - I saw the main cast - her Hamilton was played by an African American dude, and she said he was an amazing singer, which really changed the balance between him and Burr - and she loved it. I saw Azn George Washington, she saw both.

King George joining the dance party for "never gonna be president now" was one of those amazing moments you can't get from the OST.

Just checking who was an understudy and I believe the only one was Washington.

Which is Surprising! Because overall he was by far the absolute best. I mean, Angelica's and Hamilton and Eliza all fucking killed it but Washington was flawless.

Just West End for me. I don't have the means to see it overseas but I'm happy to watch it in West End again :D

I'll do the lottery each day and if not, I think I'll grab another one for August or later.

And yeah haha, I had no idea King George was going to have so much extra like that. The whole thing blew me away.

We have the traveling version of the show in Seattle right now, it's moving from town to town. It's identical in terms of stagecraft, just different singers.

I urge you, even though I have no reference, to see it in the West End. :D

Go killed it as Eliza and I'm sad that there is no West End version of the soundtrack because of it.

Huh, interesting. I thought Go (Eliza) and was by far the weakest part of the west end version. I saw it opening week though so she may have settled into the role.

Glad you liked it D65. I had the same reaction. It completely emotionally destroyed me.

Now when you listen to the soundtrack in your car, you're going to be a mess anytime "It's Quiet Uptown" comes on.

Whoa no way. Her range, excitement and melancholy in the role was insane. She got huge applause for her rendition of Burn. I was a bit annoyed by my glasses getting wet because I was tearing up each time. It was never a song that did that to me when listening to the soundtrack.

...

When I really think about it, Terera(Burr) was really disappointing. There was almost no emotional response to Wait For It. His performance only worked for the more light hearted parts. It made me really hate Burr more than I already do haha.

When I see it again I wonder if he will do it the same way

I have a feeling it was because we had Dress Circle tickets... But I didn't get IDd. Expired IDs should be fine regardless. Just get your OG card.

So i won the lottery. I was a dickhead and didn't even try to humblebrag and brag bragged about it on FB. I went in mostly blind and I hadn't heard most of the songs though i did hear some of My Shot. I really liked it. It's not like me to be awake and not have either my phone in my hand or a podcast in my ear and I didn't feel compelled to look at my phone. I posted my notification that i won the Hamilton lottery and I got about 3 messages cos of that tinder feed from tinderellas asking me to take them. I tried to leverage my spare ticket to see which girls I ain't seen in a while/ I wanna get with/ friends/ ghosted me and i wanna gloat delete as appropriate to see which would take me up on my offer. Most weren't able to come, so I told a girl that I kinda stopped talking to that if she could make it to central London in 40 mins the ticket was hers. She made it by the skin of her teeth. I was in the front row and I met some Americans who seemed to see as many showings as they could and some British girls who i talked to. But anyhow, I loved the show. I really liked it. Worth the hype. I heard a lot of the American versions whilst listening to the UK show and maybe it's cos I heard the UK version first but I preferred a lot of the UK versions more than the American versions. LIke the UK Schuyler sisters is awesome, and the UK Right Hand Man shits on the American version. Don't get me started on London Burr being way better. But I might listen to the American version from start to finish so I can properly compare. Very long winded but whatever

Can't properly compare to the US version but the UK renditions of Wait for It and Burn had me choking up (my gf was sobbing here). Definitely gonna try to catch it again in October.

I went to see it this weekend.

I went in with crazy high expectations. I listened to the original cast recording almost on repeat for about four months when I first heard it. It became my favourite musical immediately. I think musicals are done for me after listening to Hamilton.

So I went into this with such crazy expectations. I went with my friend who had listened to most of the songs but out of order and his girlfriend who remained unspoiled on purpose.

It was fantastic. I don't know how else to say it. I could wax lyrical for days on how it lived up to what I had in my head.

And then the little changes and show only elements and extended gags made it such a joyous experience.

Fucking onions at the end.

My friends loved it too. Obviously.

I got tickets to see this on tour in the states here this summer. Part of me is nervous that it might not be as great because it's a touring company but then I figured, I doubt they're going to let any facet of this show lag for any reason, regardless of venue.

I really wanted to see this when it was in Atlanta, but had no luck getting tickets. Couldn't get through the system when they went on sale, and struck out in the lotteries for $10 tickets in the App (entered for every show we could have attended (were out out of town for a handful). We didn't want to see it badly enough to pay the crazy stubhub etc. prices on the secondhand market.

Oh well, it's coming back in 2019/2020 and will be in Greenville, SC next year too (only a 2ish hour drive) so we'll have some more chances.

Managed to get tickets for a Thursday afternoon later this month. Hoping it'll be fine despite it being the afternoon show. Got the tickets only a couple of weeks ago, "premium" ones -- don't know how good the seats are but they're the "Royal" section (the middle, the closest being "Stalls") row C. Is that decent? Beggars can't be choosers, I am thankful that I was able to get seats for a showing during the four days I'm in town. Anyhow, super excited about going, missed getting tickets to see it locally (Durham, NC).

It's some cool pictures of the show with lyrics, then a couple of pictures of the Broadway cast in the same style and a few pages by people from the team like e.g. the set designers.
I guess 10 GBP is a bit much but I like it, here's an example:

Went a couple of months ago now. Got backup Hamilton, who seemed a bit miscast to me? The main guy looks like he has more of that youthful vigour to him. Still fantastic. We had seats near the front; King George pointed his scepter right at me and looked me in the eyes when saying "you're my favorite subject" :swoon:
