Just one month more for me and I'm so hyped.
Our seats should be good but I might ask for a cushion for my partner just so I can poke fun at her feet not touching the ground haha.
Haha go for it, it's funny to see people around you almost at your level or at your level cause of a cushion. Oh and the seats are comfortable enough, I'd read a few people whining on theatre-land forums. You should have a great time :)
Some stuff in the store tends to go Out of Stock. and don't even bother with the oyster card holder.
Surprised my girl with tickets to Hamilton for Christmas in front of the broadway theater in December. A security guard watched it happen and saw her crying (from reading the card I wrote, not the tickets lol) and pulled us to the side and gave us backstage passes to hang out with the cast. One of my favorite plays/experiences. Such an amazing show.
I just scored tickets for the Harry Potter Broadway show through the ticket lottery. How is it?!
Oh now I really want an Oyster holder...
I need to get my partner to listen to the soundtrack before we watch the show, I typically explain things to her during cinema (especially if they're cultural references) but I don't want to do that here. I want to fight the urge to sing to the entire musical haha.
The card holder didn't feel great quality but the keychain, lapel pins and magnets are quite decent. I'm not one for tote bags or apparel. Think the books are 30 and 20 for hardback and paperback resp.
I'm likely to buy the books from Amazon or get them as a gift... Regardless, after the show we will be eating that amazing Bleecker St burger.
Did anyone dress up? Like, in old fashioned clothes?
It's not as cold as it could've been but it was pretty cold might be why most weren't dressed up. There was maybe one person I saw dressed up, but generally people were pretty casual. Ah yes Bleecker was mostly empty and quick service, I had somewhere else to go but I will say that ShakeShack was ridiculously crowded for whatever reason. Everyone seemed to head there.
ShakeShack imo is absolutely terrible. But they supply the cast with food. I will never understand their popularity.
Bleecker St is God tier but the Victoria one doesn't do the medium rare anymore.you can get them to make it for you if you look like you can keep a secret
The Bleecker Black is the best damn burger I have ever had.
Omg omg omg...
Very short review
OMFG
I cried for so many reasons, mostly because it was probably the best thing I've seen in my entire life.
The main Hamilton was performing despite it being matinee. Go was AMAZING. But here's the things, now I gotta get my complaints out of the way...
I'm not too sure about the Burr. He was a bit camp for my liking even thought he has the best songs in the whole show he was the weakest.
And... (I can't remember the names sorry) but the Lafayette/Jefferson was incredible as Jefferson but was clearly no Daveed Diggs as Lafayette.
Outside of that...
It was AWESOME WOW
...
XD and I managed to get the oyster card holder, book and shot glass. I am trying to buy more tickets ASAP haha.
Oh yeah, and the King George was simply perfect.
Did you see it at Seattle? My wife ruined our finances by seeing it twice, and she saw both the understudies and the main cast - I saw the main cast - her Hamilton was played by an African American dude, and she said he was an amazing singer, which really changed the balance between him and Burr - and she loved it. I saw Azn George Washington, she saw both.
King George joining the dance party for "never gonna be president now" was one of those amazing moments you can't get from the OST.
We have the traveling version of the show in Seattle right now, it's moving from town to town. It's identical in terms of stagecraft, just different singers.Just West End for me. I don't have the means to see it overseas but I'm happy to watch it in West End again :D
I'll do the lottery each day and if not, I think I'll grab another one for August or later.
And yeah haha, I had no idea King George was going to have so much extra like that. The whole thing blew me away.

I urge you, even though I have no reference, to see it in the West End. :D
Go killed it as Eliza and I'm sad that there is no West End version of the soundtrack because of it.
I'm already a mess whenever that's on. i won't be able to handle it live.Glad you liked it D65. I had the same reaction. It completely emotionally destroyed me.
Now when you listen to the soundtrack in your car, you're going to be a mess anytime "It's Quiet Uptown" comes on.

Huh, interesting. I thought Go (Eliza) and was by far the weakest part of the west end version. I saw it opening week though so she may have settled into the role.
got tickets for October and I've never been so excited in my life.
for those that have gone, i don't have a valid passport or driver's license (they've both expired). anyone know if they'll accept them on the door or so i need to renew my passport?
How did you get physical tickets? I thought tickets would be paperless, I hope I'm wrong!
To remind you of my love.I went to see it this weekend.
I went in with crazy high expectations. I listened to the original cast recording almost on repeat for about four months when I first heard it. It became my favourite musical immediately. I think musicals are done for me after listening to Hamilton.
So I went into this with such crazy expectations. I went with my friend who had listened to most of the songs but out of order and his girlfriend who remained unspoiled on purpose.
It was fantastic. I don't know how else to say it. I could wax lyrical for days on how it lived up to what I had in my head.
And then the little changes and show only elements and extended gags made it such a joyous experience.
Fucking onions at the end.
My friends loved it too. Obviously.
Managed to get tickets for a Thursday afternoon later this month. Hoping it'll be fine despite it being the afternoon show. Got the tickets only a couple of weeks ago, "premium" ones -- don't know how good the seats are but they're the "Royal" section (the middle, the closest being "Stalls") row C. Is that decent? Beggars can't be choosers, I am thankful that I was able to get seats for a showing during the four days I'm in town. Anyhow, super excited about going, missed getting tickets to see it locally (Durham, NC).
I'm in fucking love with this show
Favs:
Quiet Uptown
Wait for It
Battle for Yorktown
Ten Dual Commandments
Right Hand Man
Also, all of the songs with King George III
Awesome, I am really stoked to see it. I had pretty much given up hope when I failed to get any locally. It's such a tightly designed show that it's going to be amazing no matter what time or cast.

It's some cool pictures of the show with lyrics, then a couple of pictures of the Broadway cast in the same style and a few pages by people from the team like e.g. the set designers.saw the London show last night and it was incredible, really liked the slimy take on burr.
anyone buy the brochure at these shows, i didn't last night but i see you can get it for £10 and was wondering if it's worth it?
Probably helps to have an actual Brit doing it.King George is so good it's ruined the soundtrack version of his songs for me. Absolutely incredible performance.
