Microsoft is presenting a better E3 press conference every year. In my opinion they had the best show of E3 last year, and it's not even chose.

I think this year they will make it even better... and they can have the best show again.

For me MS saved E3 2017 from being one of the worst ever lol

Let me see: Forza 3, Ori 2, Crackdown 3, State Of Decay 2. I won!

No, this is what the person said that I was replying to.

I expect at least 5 brand new diverse AAA IPs.

NEW IP's being the operative words there, not sequels, new shit, just like Quantum Break, Ryse & Sunset Overdrive were.

We might get 1 or 2 all new AAA never before seen IP's but I think expecting 5, like the original poster was wanting, seemed unrealistic.

Five new AAA exclusives is unrealistic for anyone.
Unless you're showing stuff way, way in the future

Ashen, Sea Of Thieves, The Last Night. That works?

Moving on, looks like a great idea to use the Microsoft Theatre. If im not wrong, its the same place used by the Game Awards. Looks stunning.

Edit: And yeah, 5 looks like a lot for any company on a single year.

Might want to define what you think AAA means, cos I wouldn't put many of the games you mention in your posts anywhere near the AAA bracket

"In the video game industry, AAA (pronounced "triple A") or Triple-A is a classification term used for games with the highest development budgets and levels of promotion. A title considered to be AAA is therefore expected to be a high qualitygame or to be among the year's bestsellers."

The way I see it Microsoft is doing all the right things. Backwards Compatibility, Strong Hardware, Play Anywhere, Games Pass, ect. Once they secure a variety of interesting games they'll have no problem fighting back.

Excited to see the big blowout.

Competition is always good. I do not have a x box but I hope Microsoft can show some great games. Hoping for a brand new Battletoads

Curious if what's shown will be mainly for 2018 Xbox or if it will be 2019+, here are the new exclusives we are building.

They definitely have had less exclusives compared to the other two lately but they seem to acknowdacka and be working on rebuilding/getting better.

Definitely looks like it will be fun for whatever they show with the scale they are going at it

If they're talking about Mixer that's disappointing. I hope we at least get a teaser for Halo 6. Also game streaming.

My first issue with that notion is that I really don't like when things leak out ahead of their scheduled reveals. I understand that people get impatient, but surprising conference reveals are always more fun to experience than internet leaks.

Then on top of that cboat was an ultimately negative personality spreading fud and lies. With these modern leakers and insiders you can never tell what their real intentions are, and people are gullible, they want to believe.

Halo 6 and maybe two brand new IPs I'm expecting. I expect Cyberpunk 2077 as well, and some gameplay footage of Shadow of the Tomb Raider

I don't get the free hate ms gets, I mean as a gamer i m happy they're trying to get back in shape, with gamepass and the support for 1440p display I'm seriously thinking about buying a 1x even if I got a nice pc. Competition is always good and without a serious threat like ms, Sony will just sleep... For sure this will be a nice e3 to follow, go ms we need you :)

Now this is just teasin us poor souls.

OT - The massive floor plan tells me they have big news they want maximum exposure on. What could it be, or is it simply a double down on effort for gaming? I certainly hope so.

Personally I think we will get some new acquisition announces and a segment in the future of Microsoft Game Studios. It's certainly the right setup, MS have never had such a large presence at E3 before.

Announcing an acquisition at a Conference sure is strange. Normally they'd want to announce this in a blog post for press/media/shareholders. Disagree with this.

Black Tusk (now The Coalition) was announced at E3 but that was a new Microsoft studio not an acquisition.

Even though I don't have an Xbox One, I'm still very excited for the press conference simply because of Microsoft's push for the Play Anywhere initiative (meaning I get to play their games on PC!)

I personally hope for a Killer Instinct announcement in some form, a sequel in particular would be amazing. But I won't hold my breath for that :(

KI is extremely successful for them, we will see a sequel, not this E3 but for sure by 2020 we will see a Killer Instinct 2 announcement.

This is possibly going to sway me on getting an Xbox One X - I already have an OG Xbox but I have a 4K TV - Some games look like bum!!

Halo 6 and a new Fable will hella sway me...

Europe
It wouldn't
PC gamers will never forgive GFWL, will never want to pay console prices and most would want Microsoft to hand steam their bc initiative so they could buy on their favourite (which they won't)

I am a PC gamer and I don't give a **** about the old GFWL. Never forgive??? Lol? Did GFWL kill your cat?

Fact is that Play Anywhere has been an amazing initiative from MS for PC gamers and I am pretty happy with it.

So is Galen Center Arena free to some other company this E3?

Btw, I think Nintendo held E3 press conferences at Nokia Theatre in 2010 and 2011. Later on MS acquired it and it's now known as MS Theatre.

Technically, yes. But that's not the reason they are moving, they want a whole venue and their massive floor space to theirselves. That doesn't mean an E3 press conference will take place in the Galen Center.

Nintendo did. Microsoft acquired Nokia years ago (its since been sold to another company but they kept the theater). Sony held all of their press conferences in the Microsoft Theater but moved to Shrine Auditorium last year.

Microsoft also owns another venue called "The Novo" which EA has been doing their press conferences in the past two years.

Get yourself set up for disappointment. They'll probably have this in the show:

First party:
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps
- Forza Horizon 4
- Master Chief Collection
- Halo 6 tease
- Electric Square-game
- Fall/late 2018 game

A bunch of console launch exclusives.

Third party:
- Cyberpunk
- The Division
- Splinter Cell
+ Anthem
+ Battletoads

I really hope we get to see how Anthem now looks but those reports about people leaving BioWare is not a good look. Hopefully all is well.

Why would MS announce an acquisition at E3? I mean if you think about it it would be the biggest headline of E3 week if they acquired Capcom for example.

It would seem weird and would feel like Investors would know first, but in the end it's not a big deal to tell them first, I think.

It would allow them to establish just how far reaching their power grab is. They would consolidate power over consumers in a single moment.

Ha!

Reality is that I don't see Microsoft acquiring any publisher and even if they did, there is a huge amount of corporate red tape involved with an acquisition of that size and zero chance of it being kept secret for an 'E3 announcement'. That's just crazy talk.

Correct me if i'm wrong but Nintendo did the same in the early Wii era, with the conference at the Nokia Theater (now Microsoft Theater) with demo stations there, and plus their booth at E3.

I don't understand. Do you think they're lying about the size of the venue?

That's what you read from it? In my opinion, last year's E3 Nintendo Direct and the Sony Show the year before have been so well received by the audience because they didn't talk to much about it; e.g. the orchestra was totally unexpected. I just don't want to be disappointed again.
