Some of the comments in here seem to lack any faith. Like MS has to come out with a big show at some point that knock socks off. I've said befor no big dev will say they want to "win" E3. But we all know deep down a part of their setup is aiming for that.

Lying about it being the 'greatest lineup in history' year after year? Yes, I'm saying they're lying.

I wouldn't say it's lying. It's like a pizza joint saying "we got the best pizza in town". It's their opinion for their marketing after all. We don't gotta agree but I don't think it falls under lying.

I see plenty of people mentioning how this explains their booth space size. It also explains the thread that Rösti made the other day about the booth changing to "Mixer". Strangely, they then changed it back to Microsoft on the vendor list. I wonder if they'll change it back.
They say in the announcement the booth they have in the E3 space is dedicated to Mixer. Will not changed back.

Xbox Wire said:
In addition to the Microsoft Theater, we'll also continue to have a meaningful presence at the LACC with a new booth completely dedicated to Mixer, where you can play, stream and interact with games and catch the latest E3 news live throughout the entire week.

yeah 10 years later on another gen console...pls lol... go to tell this to someone who bought a ps3 for that superdupermega with relative standing ovation E3 announcement.
Imho is too wrong to announce games too early just to "win" e3 consensus.
scalebound is a proof....agent was a proof....last guardian is another....e3 of the dream is basically an entire proof

Sony: 10 years = 1 game released

MS?

2 years = Fable, Scalebound, Phaton Dust REMAKE, Project Spark...

So? lets talk about same time :)

I don't like how it sounds. Because I feel like they are talking about bigger form of the conference itself, not about the content. I'm guessing like more fan interaction, maybe reading Tweets like on Inside Xbox etc. Which will suck, because E3 conferences are too long most of the time anyway :P

We're likely getting Halo 6 and Gears 5 announcements and more on Crackdown 3, but will those matter? Sony has massive guns like Spider-Man, Days Gone, LoU2, Death Stranding, KHIII (practically exclusive), FFVII Remake (also practically exclusive), and possibly huge DMC5 (again, practically exclusive) and Bloodborne 2 reveals. Nintendo's got an absolutely ballistic showing with Smash Bros, Metroid Prime 4, Pokemon Switch, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 3, and potentially Retro's new game.

Not saying MS won't have a lot of eyes on their conference (they are the first to go after all) but they might be overshadowed by week's end if Sony and Nintendo bring the heat as expected.
Wtf is this post even?

Oh, I think the Sony/MS/Nintendo conferences are fine most of the time. 90-120 minutes is good enough. Inside Xbox was just as long last saturday.. haha

you didnt get it....it is not a race to those who have it longer
for me is just too wrong to try to win consensus at e3 showing uncertain pre productions or things that i have to wait an half of the entire gen. period.
i dont care if this come from Ms or Sony or Ninty (they mostly dont do it)
Spencer seem to have understood it
considering last 3 years Sony's E3... they clearly didnt get it...thats it

Bad wording on my part. They changed the vendor name to Mixer a day or two ago. Just yesterday, they changed the name back to Microsoft again. I was wondering if they'll change the name back to Mixer once more!

Could just be that whoever updates those vendor lists jumped the gun based on this announcement. I fully expect them to revert back to "Mixer" as the vendor name.

Grasping at "the best lineup" being a lie would be akin to attacking Sony because the line "for the players" is a lie, because they're a business and they do it for the money, not the players.

Well, you just gotta look above. People are criticizing the fact Microsoft announced this rather than showing games. Others claim Microsoft have no games to show, so this is all for spectacle. There's list wars above about Sony and Nintendo having better games to show, as if we knew what Microsoft is going to show this E3. Microsoft could make a Super Bowl kind of conference and announce that all subsequent Call Of Duty, FIFA, Mass Effect, Battlefield, Dragon Age, Tomb Raider, etc. games are Xbox exclusive and show 200 other new games coming out the day after, and most people would still fuel the "lol xbox has no gaemz amirite" low quality shitpost meme. It is what it is.

I own all the consoles, I do hope MS have better releases than last year. Excited to see some new stuff from their first parties and maybe some more exclusives!

The whole, WELL XBOX SUCK, is super childish, and it's funny because previously they had 360's and called ps3 bad. As long as you stay on the winning team right?

The vendor is Microsoft. The booth branding is "Mixer" which is part of MS like Xbox, Bing or whatever. Does that make sense?

I think Mixer booth is more about fan interaction, not the theater. And it makes no sense that less content needs much bigger space.

Interesting move. I wonder how press feel about this. By having their own show in a separate (huge) theater, they're essentially creating more E3 to cover. I take the point about it taking time out of the main show to physically go to another space, I wonder if it will effect general E3 coverage

E3 is small compared to other industry events like CeBit or Hannover Messe. Ever visited those? 100m between trade halls minimum!

I hope they actually do a good job and show games, but more interesting show studios, whether they be new start up studios or acquisitions. Give Joseph Staten his own studio for god sake.

Pretty cool move, just not sure how it will change the show for someone who's watching it online. Excited for E3.

Just reviewed the MOD EDIT, so I can't comment on this. Will bring up in a different thread that I am sure will revisit this type of topic in the future.

To be OT, I don't even have the excitement for what MS's conference will be like this year because it is usually super hyped only to be disappointed in the end the last 3 years. I also understand it is an effective PR move for this with this blog because by saying the "Biggest" they can give the perception of big announcements when technically it is stating that they have a bigger size in space for users and content. Using "Largest" would not be as impactful as "Biggest".

If they're doing legitimate coverage then they won't have to deal with the distance. Odds are MS will have rooms booked upstairs in LACC for Press to see their games for coverage.

I referenced what was said in the announcement, not so much of the current floor plan that is a subject to change. I am almost entirely sure about that the booth in the convention center is used for showcasing Mixer.

I am too! It seems we both just confused each other. We appear to be on the same page now. I was just thinking out loud.

YES! Another Sunday briefing, so I can stream live. It sucks having the streams on Monday during work hours. Last year was awesome to sit and enjoy live.

Excited to see what they bring to the table this year, have high hopes.

The list wars begin.
*imma post about two franchises I know of the company I don't like that much and every single one of the companies I really adore*
Personally I really appreciated the 'practically exclusive' claim on games that will be appearing on other consoles. That really shows a high level of commitment to the cause.

Because people liked to compare sizes in the other thread like teenagers in a school restroom ...

Microsoft Theater (Xbox 2018):
7,100 seats

Shrine Auditorium (Playstation 2017, new venue not yet announced):
6,300 seats

Again, if you don't need an E3 badge = it's not part of E3

Have you been to E3? Do you realize that there's enough on the floor to keep you busy well past the open hours? There simply isn't time to leave the show for any reason. Doesn't matter how close it is.
I've been to E3 multiple times for coverage for my site. There's plenty of time to walk to surrounding areas for meetings. I've walked out of the main center and gone to the EA Play event for meetings, walked to nearby hotels for meetings, and walked back to the main hall all in the span of a few hours. I've taken shuttles to various outlying buildings in order to watch conferences for ubisoft and Bethesda. Not sure how anyone is so busy that they can't check out something that they want to within 3/4 days.
