The WarioWare series. What can I say about it? I would start by saying it's among my all time favorite Nintendo series. Just yesterday, I spent almost 2 hours playing the first game on GBA via Wii U VC and I gotta say the game has aged pretty damn well. Talk about playing something weird, bizarre, creative and fun, all at the same time. This series is Nintendo's DNA on it's pure form IMHO because this series proves that it doesn't matter the context of what are you playing as long as it is FUN to play! From watering a flower, dodging cars or jumping obstacles, to clean the booger of an anime waifu, scratch the hairy armpit of a wrestler to give him tickles or tilt the handheld to guide an apple inside a body so it can turn into poop. That's WarioWare and that's what I freaking love about it.

So after years of waiting and asking for a proper WW game, we finally got the announcement of the upcoming WarioWare Gold for 3DS:

It seems is still deep into development since we didn't get much footage of it, not even a proper logo but boy knowing it would have 300+ microgames with new and classics returning to use the HW capabilities of the 3DS is just damn exciting. It sure took them long enough but it's finally happening. I'm curious how's Wario gonna tackle his new phase as a YouTuber, hah.

To finish things off I appreciate that this new game is actually being made because unfortunately, this series is mostly underrated on the community and I think that's totally unfair. It's best entry, WarioWare: Twisted, didn't even launched in Europe! That is a sin! In fact, most of it's microgames have been highly influencial to lot's of popular mobile games. One of them is Fruit Ninja, even if it's not confirmed but it seems the people behind that game clearly took the inspiration from the slicing microgame from WarioWare Touched, released in 2004 when Smarthphones didn't existed yet. CoincidenceIThinkNot.gif

Anyways, are you hyped for WarioWare Gold? What are you looking forward on this new game? What is your fave WW game, character, etc? Whatever you want to add.

Closing my post with this screenshot I took yesterday while playing the first Wario Ware. An image of what it seems to be Mr. Satoru Iwata doing a cameo:

You're very welcome, guy that totally looks like Mr. Iwata! :')

I'm hyped. Been waiting for a 3DS WarioWare for a long time. Happy we're finally getting it.

Minigame-focused titles like WW have a long history of being underappreciated on Nintendo consoles/handhelds. See also: Retro Game Challenge, legitimately one of the greatest games of all time.

See also the various rhythm games like Rhythm Heaven and Elite Beat Agents.

I'll definitely be Day 1 for 3DS WW.

I'm super glad the 8th generation got its Wario Ware, I was missing this IP so much.
Game and Wario was nice but it's no Wario Ware.

I love WarioWare. I'll probably skip this one since I don't have a 3ds, but will definitely get any future Switch titles in the series.

Hyped here. Was waiting for a 3DS release, just feels like home. Also screw the haters complaining about not being on Switch. That console still has like 10 years in it to recieve one.

The only one I haven't played is Twisted but since I've played all the other ones to death it's hard to be excited.

I wish we had a proper entry on Switch instead of a remix entry on 3DS, but it's still WarioWare. First new entry in almost a decade, if you don't count those Wii U tech demos they slapped the IP on. So yeah, I'm happy, and I'm gonna be buying a 3DS game in 2018, lol.

I love WarioWare and every now and then I hook up my GameCube and play.

Back in those days, anybody who visited my house wanted to play, gaming friends or people who never played videogames, everybody liked the quick and silly minigames.

I'll probably end up buying it but being 3DS-only is a bummer. Should be at least cross-gen. If they can do it for Captain Toad they definitely can do it for this.

Wish it was on Switch, I already have Warioware from the Ambassador program on my 3DS and a lot of these mini games are similar.

Like a few others said. 3DS is literally what killed it. Since outside of that factor.
I absolutely want this. But don't really see myself spending $40 on 3DS games at this point.

I love DS/Wii WarioWare but back then it felt like games were fully utilized for the respective hardware.

WW:Touched was my first DS game and it felt really revolutionary for the time. Same goes for the Wii game. This one on the other hand looks like its 10 years late, just like that Pikmin game on 3DS last year. Would be all in for this if it focused on stereoscopic 3D mini games and actually made use of it like SM3DL and ALBW. Not happening since Nintendo wants us to forget about 3D now.

Definitely skipping. Also would have appreciated a Switch Wario Ware game that uses full capabilities of the Joy-Con.

while I am glad for it. I kind of wish it were on both 3DS and Switch.

This is the sort of game I'd play off, and on for a long period, and with other people. With 3DS not being in my current console rotation, I'd barley get any use out of the game.

Real tough to be anything other than frustrated it's not also on Switch.

It's just a remake or 'best of' collection, like everything coming for 3ds now. Nearly all the mini games they showed in the trailer are old ones I've played to death. I've got Wario Ware and Twisted if I ever want to play those again.

It's closer to Megamix which was good on its own.

OP, I have no hype because it comes out too late and on 3DS. I love WarioWare but I'll never play it for that reason.

If it were Switch or mobile I'd be hyped as fuck. But I'm not buying any games for 3DS. I don't care how much I like the franchise.

I don't dislike WarioWare or anything - actually really enjoyed the Wii game. I'd really love a return to the original type of Wario game from the original gameboy and virtual boy though. Not certain I'll be picking this up.

I'm a HUGE warioware fan, but these are far better when on a console you can easily play local multiplayer with and, not to port beg, it's not on Switch.

I'm sure we'll get one eventually as it makes too much sense for local multi and the joycon abilities, but this was just rubbing some salt in the wound that we don't have a console WarioWare yet and haven't had a good one since Wii.

I'm super excited for this release actually! This was one of the few games my mom got for me as kid, as in she bought it on her own whim and I didn't even know about it, just "here kid have a quirky game!" And to date I still think about GC WW and all the great time I had with it, it really was a fun game, but to me stands out as a really special title for me if only cause of the memories attached to it :)

This is straight up my favourite series (along its sister franchise, Rhythm Heaven) so hell yeah I'm hyped.

I'm more than okay with it being on 3DS and being a Megamix kind of deal.

I'm definitely looking forward to it, but I found it kind of odd that they put off making a WarioWare game for the 3DS for as long as they did.

It's funny, I remember commenting on a thread a while ago on how I thought that it was a missed opportunity that they didn't put out a WarioWare game for 3DS during it's life cycle... Looks like rumors of the 3DS' demise were greatly exaggerated on my part, lmao.

I love WarioWare, and Rhythm Heaven is one of my favorite things in the world, so yeah, I am hyped for this release. I am a little disappointed that it's more of a collection since I've already played most of these micro-games so many times before, but if it gives me an opportunity to give the devs behind Rhythm Heaven more of my money, I'll do it. Even if I end up reviewing this and get a free copy, I'm buying it. I need games like this to succeed, because I want new ones in the future.

I already own all the Wario Ware games, so this is pretty meh to me. I'll still play it probably, but I doubt it has much new content.

It was probably the game I was most excited about in the recent Nintendo Direct.

I'm also really glad to see that it's not an eShop-exclusive game. I wonder how the boxart will look...

Not really unfortunately. I would have bought it in a heartbeat last year, but I can't imagine spending money on anything on 3DS now. The fact that it's not an all new game doesn't help. It feels very sad to not be interested in a Warioware game

Like so many others have already said, I would be hyped if I had still owned a 3DS.

Can only hope for a great (multiplayer) sequel for Switch coming soon. Hopefully a proper one and not whatever Game&Wario for WiiU was trying to be.

I'm pretty excited for it! For a while all I had was wario ware on my wii. Same for my DS when I first bought it, besides mario 64 of course. That drought after launch was rough, but wario ware kept my ds going.

I wouldve bought a wario ware with my switch and wii u but instead we got a weird different wario ware and 1-2-Switch :(

I've been waiting for a Wario Ware like this one since Touched! The following WW games just weren't the same, so I'm glad they returned to the classic formula. I love Rhythm Heaven & Wario Ware series.

There is no hype because it is on 3DS. Have you seen this forum? Some users actively want the system to die, and would be pissed beyond belief even if something as benign as Paw Patrol: Journey to FriendSmile Cove was a 3DS exclusive.
