I was thinking about trading my car towards one of these, but my city is annoying as hell to drive in using a manual. I even wanted the same color you have.

If anyone has never seen one of these or taken one for a test drive, it's hard to believe they're Hondas. They drive and feel like cars that start @ $10k more.

You're absolutely right. Even at 10k more I'd say they're worth it conaideicon they're at the top in their target market (STI, EVO, Focus RS, Golf R)start at higher MSRPs and up to 43k. I eat all of those for breakfast. They're front wheel drive but it doesn't feel like it due to their wizardry they have going on with no torque steer etc.

It's an amazing car for sure.

I have the 1.5 litre , theyre nippy enough when they need to be. Theyre not massively popular from what ive seen in the UK , but it beats getting getting a Yaris/Aygo/KA/Corsa which is what students typically have.

Here she is. The decals arent mine but i cba to remove them.

I like the stickers, gives it a fun look but isn't too messy.

Take good care of it. Sometimes an unpopular car can become popular over the years.

I've got one as well.

Anyway what I drive

2011 Volvo S60 T6 AWD
2012 Mazda CX-5 (wife's car)
2013 Toyota 86 GT (yeah that's not a typo, here in Australia it is the Toyota 86 with a GT model and GTS model)

Crazy, i didn't know that. But from what i found on the interwebs, the "gt" is essentially a cheaper model, without the "fancy stuff" like alloy scuff plates. Not too bad, would be nice to also have two models of the 86 in Europe.

It has the steer by wire technology? I know that Infiniti has switched to that in some of their coupes. I can't imagine it feeling better than the BMW in term of steering feel because of that.

You saw he had an i3 right? It's probably the least BMW BMW of all time. A cute little electric runabout with a nifty interior. But steering feel? Nah.

I rented one of these this weekend and I really enjoyed it. Guts galore. I had a couple of beefs - the Media/Nav system feels archaic to me, and the AC vents that elaborately rotate open when you start the car a) Make no sense at all and b) Just look like something that is going to break. It's also the only luxury car I've ever seen that didn't have seat warmers. Maybe just how it was specced for CA.

Oh and the crazy ass Gear dial that pops up from the center console...

Are you sure it wasn't an older basic trim XF? The newer model XF's all have heated (front) seats as standard (UK and US). Even the older S and R-Sport variants had it as standard too. Mine has heated rear seats too.

https://www.jaguar.co.uk/jaguar-range/xf/saloon/xf-s.html
https://rules.config.jaguar.com/jdx/en_us/xf_k18/3h7kr/a-30p-380a_a-saloon_tl4/jdxmodel.html

All the rotating vents and the gear dial popping out and lighting up etc are unnecessary for sure, but people tend to be impressed when they see it, so I guess it all adds a bit of fanfare lol. I quite like the novelty aspect, and thankfully nothing has gone wrong yet.

Regarding the media/nav system, I agree the standard system is rather small, overly laggy and generally quite pants, but the upgraded 10.2" Pro system is decent and overall pretty slick and nifty. You get the odd hitch up or lag on startup now and again, but it generally works swiftly and is mostly very responsive, especially the Sat Nav map with pinch to zoom, move, swipe etc. The Pro Infotainment package also comes with an upgraded surround sound system and internal hard drive as well, so it's well worth the upgrade imo. I still like BMW's latest infotainment systems the best though. I just find it the quickest and most intuitive, but only when using the iDrive jog dial.

Here's what my interior looks like.

Yeah. Yours has a different Cockpit so mine was either way older or fleet/rental trim.

I purchased a Honda CRV 2018, the one just under the leather chairs. Can't remmber the model. I am just practical, it's not the car for a 29 year old without kids, but I just like suvs.

The XF Configurator shows "Cold Climate Package" (heated seats, steering wheel, and windshield) as a $1200 option.

Looks like the digital cluster is part of a package that gets you the larger touchscreen. Otherwise you get traditional gauges with a smaller screen between them.

I wish Cadillac had their digital cluster as an option on the ATS. Though what it has is functional, just kind of boring and oddly cheap looking.
Looks cool at night though, and I do like the 3 segment display.

That's right. The bigger infotainment centre console and digital instrument cluster are indeed optional extras, though they really ought to be as standard by now, especially given what competitors are offering on new models. But Cold Climate adds what you've described plus only heated rear seats, despite the blurb stating heated front and rear seats. Heated front seats already come as standard.

Ah, gotcha.

On my ATS, heated front seats were optional even on the highest trim level, but that's a class lower that the XF. Though I don't really want to complain about having options, since I was happy that I could order the car without a sunroof regardless of trim level.

Fair enough. Why didn't you want a sunroof? And how are you finding the ATS?

2014 Mazda CX-5.

It is so much fun to drive. Its only 4 cylinder, but it has really good pickup. Bose speakers, sunroof, I don't see me getting rid of it anytime soon.
Got the same awesome ride in Gray. I love to drive it while blastin' some hip-hop. Sucks that I scratched the left side mirror because I tried to go in a narrow alley while so damn sleepy.

Edit: Looks like a lot of Fiesta owners here. Sounds like it's really fun to drive. I'm looking for something exciting to drive and I might check out.

I drive a 2017 Toyota 86. It's been a fun year but I'm already looking to get rid of it. The handling aspect isn't even that interesting anymore, I just want something a bit faster. Maybe a WRX.

Prior to the ATS, I had a Malibu with a sunroof, and I had issues with it not draining properly. I was already indifferent to them as a feature, but that in particularly made me want to avoid them. Or at least, not pay extra for them.

The ATS is great. It's a lot of fun to drive and I particularly like the interior I got (black with brown seats). I'm not huge on the run flat tires. They can be noisier than I think a Cadillac should be, but they do grip well. And to their credit, one of them did serve their purpose after I drove over a nail. I'm debating whether or not I want to risk non run flats when it comes time to replace them. I've read good things about Pilot Sport A/S 3 on forums.

2002 Nissan Sentra.

Not a car guy at all. I liked driving when I was in high school and college, but once I started having a lengthy car commute, it took the enjoyment out of it. Also I have spent the last 5 or so years living in different neighborhoods that usually had good public transit, or at least the ability to accomplish all my errands on foot, so I've resented the fact that I've needed a car to get to work.

Hoping to get a job in the city soon so I can relegate the car to occasional weekend trips, or possibly getting rid of when a repair becomes too costly

Fair enough. I enjoy the extra light sunroofs bring in tbh. I use it for that purpose (tray slid back, but sunroof still closed) more than the aspect of keeping them open for air.

Regarding the run flats, they're obviously not going to be as comfortable as regular tires, but I think run flats are a touch sharper and more responsive, plus have less tire flex or roll, not to mention a small weight saving. If comfort is an issue, ditch the run flats.

I personally use Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S run flats (20") and find them to be exceptional tires. They have an incredible level of grip, even in heavy rain/wet. However in very cold or icy conditions (below 3-4 degrees celsius) they definitely have less traction and wheelspin more than usual.

Yeah, I contemplated getting a 3 or 4 series BMW, but as good as they were to drive, they just didn't have enough power. I looked at the M-series, but that felt like too much, so I went the Infiniti route. Interior may not be as nice and infotainment system is easily a generation behind, but it has a super nice ride, comfy seats, great handling (yes, even with the steer-by-wire) and plenty of power.

Why has everyone here so expensive cars?
When one has an expensive car, they are maybe more likely to be happy telling people they have said car.

Owning a hunk of junk doesn't typically illicit the same happiness to share.

It's funny because I kept reading that it's a really divisive car in terms of styling but I've had nothing but compliments on how great it looks.

Phenomenally well specced car for the price. It's got things like a rear view camera, full parking sensors across the whole car, lane assist, touch screen display and various other things that you normally only see in more expensive cars. It's only a 1L turbo but it doesn't half shift. Surprising how good Honda are with engines for road cars when their F1 one is garbage!

When I had it in for repair after someone dinked it I was given a BMW 1 series and in all honesty I just found the Honda to be a far better car. The BMW didn't seem much faster but it was a lot less spacious and featured than the Honda.

I'm not on the scale of some people here, but I'm lucky, I have a company car allowance of £31k. The only rules are no 4x4 (fuel use), no Italian (perceived reliability issues) and bizarrely, no Japanese which is a bit odd (old boy racism probably).

When I buy and run my own car, they're a lot older, cheaper and more modest!

A month or so to go, getting antsy now (just like this one it'll be);

Nice. Really like Skoda's MK III designs (Fabia III, Octavia III, Superb III) but i hate that new Hitler mustache for the sensors. Looking for an Octavia RS (station wagon) as my next car.

A 2000 mazda 626: (not my pic)

This got me intriqued as this car looks nothing like a Mazda 626 that I know from that time period.

I had one and this is what a 2000 Mazda 626 looks like to me:

Apparently what was sold as Mazda 626 is a rather different car in the US and in the rest of the world.

2004 Honda Civic. One speaker is dead, the actuators are busted so I have to lock the doors manually with the key, and last year the AC/heat stopped working which I had fixed. But it runs great and according to the mechanics, I take amazing care of it. I never have any serious performance issues that need work. I'm too cheap to get a new car. I just need something that gets me from A to B and has working heat and this still does the job.

I'm not dumping a ton of money to figure out emissions issue but also not willing to give it up

So I just keep driving it, it's a tank

Hoping to get atleast 2-4 more years

Luckily it's all local driving and I do it so often I know all the spots the cops park/hang out and how to avoid them seeing my old tags

Could be just a faulty sensor which doesn't cost much to replace.

Just bought a 2009 Toyota Matrix on Friday. Confused as to why it has a headlight knob if the lights are always on.
